Palin will bypass several major cities in her upcoming book tour.

(CNN) - Those living in the country's biggest cities who hope to catch a glimpse of Sarah Palin while she is on her much-anticipated book tour may be disappointed: the former Alaska governor will instead hit a string of mid-size cities, many of which voted for her and John McCain last November.

According to Harper Collins, the publisher of Palin's forthcoming memoir "Going Rogue," Palin will bypass several of the major cities that are often the pillars of any big book tour, including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, New York, and Philadelphia.

Palin's schedule instead takes the former Republican vice presidential candidate to smaller - and in many cases more conservative - cities like Fort Wayne, Indiana, Washington, Pennsylvania, Roanoke, Virginia, and Jacksonville, Florida.

Palin will kick off the tour in Grand Rapids, Michigan on November 18, one day after her book is released. The choice of Michigan to begin her cross-country blitz may be no accident: Palin publicly disagreed with the McCain campaign's decision to pull its resources out of that key battleground state a month before the election - one of the initial moves that led anonymous McCain operatives to declare Palin was "going rogue."

The first week of the tour will take Palin thorough Indiana (Fort Wayne and Noblesville), Ohio (Cincinnati and Columbus) New York (Rochester), Virginia (Roanoke), North Carolina (Fayetteville), Alabama (Birmingham), and Florida (Jacksonville, The Villages, and Orlando).

A spokeswoman for Harper Collins tells CNN more cities could be added to that list.

With so many left-wingers hating Gov Palin, she must be doing something right!

Mike in NJ   November 5th, 2009 1:00 pm ET

Perhaps we in those larger, 'conventional' cities should also avoid purchasing her book... after all, we wouldn't want to read anything that might make US uncomfortable, right?

Don't worry Sarah, going to those Unamerican larger cities won't hurt your book sales, after all, you don't want us loony leftys to read and critique your book, right?

Let's see...I lived in a small midwest town, I'm a woman, and I think this twit is a disgrace to every woman with something between her ears other than frosting, a disgrace to every midwest woman who is trying to keep a job and a home and NOT quit on same... For those who are actually voting for her "because she's just like us"... I have two words. Jesse Ventura. The people of MN came to regret that vote! This twit is NOT someone I want representing my country, or a state, or anything else. go back to your town, Ms. Quittah, and leave the rest of us in peace.

becky   November 5th, 2009 12:58 pm ET

By the way, Indiana went blue the last election because of sara palin. Why she thinks she is welcome her is beyond me.

Laura   November 5th, 2009 12:58 pm ET

I cannot stand Sarah Palin, but she is going to Fayetteville because of its proximity to Fort Bragg, one of the biggest and best-known Army bases; in fact, it's close enough to the coast to bring in people from Camp LeJeune, one of the best-known Marine bases. Showing off her supposed patriotism and playing to a known military predisposition toward Republicanism does not make Fayetteville ignorant or illiterate. Plenty of people there hate her, too.

Vee Robillard   November 5th, 2009 12:58 pm ET

The reason the media pays her so much attention is because she is the William Hung of politics.

People love to see the 'Fails', and Sarah Palin is right up there as an Epic Fail.

Just as the Papparazzi all fight for position at the front of Brittany's car hoping to get another "Brazilian" shot, the media holds onto and promotes Sarah stories in the hopes of drawing more advertising revenue. Sad, but true.

Barbara   November 5th, 2009 12:57 pm ET

I wouldn't walk across the street to see her or buy the book someone else wrote. She's so embarassing-representing this country. Dumber than a box of rocks..Wink! Wink! Gotcha!

Theresa   November 5th, 2009 12:56 pm ET

I honestly don't understand CNN's obsession with Palin. So what if she goes on a non-conventional tour. So what if she goes to places where she would be popular. Would the average person do the same thing? CNN is making too much of this. It seems that every move she makes she gets scrutinized, but BO can get away with almost anything.

buckles75   November 5th, 2009 12:56 pm ET

Would Nancy Pelosi go to Nebraska, Georgia, or Idaho if she were doing a book tour?

This is being spun as Sarah Palin avoiding the more hostile (to her views) urban audiences of San Francisco, New York, etc. While I'm sure there's some truth to that, there's also a much bigger picture. All the metropolitan areas on her book tour are rife with suburban swing voters who tend to decide elections. Those same areas have congressional swing districts that went from GOP to Democrat in either 2006 or 2008. This is all about setting up for next year's Congressional elections as well as her assumed run for the GOP presidential nomination in 2012. Her goal will be (whether it's successful or not) to energize the conservative (not necessarily GOP) base, bring independents who are disenchanted with the current Democratic agenda into the conservative camp, and to gain recognition and face time with curious politically-minded individuals.

Politically, it's very smart. Sarah Palin, in my opinion, is not all that smart intellectually, but she has a very high political IQ.

S M R   November 5th, 2009 12:56 pm ET

Can Sarah have an open debate with President Obama so we can get this foolishness over with?

Tommygunn   November 5th, 2009 12:54 pm ET

It makes sense. Sarah want to go where she feels more comfortable and places she can identify to, not even to mention this is her base.

This is alot to do about nothing. I wish her well with the book and think the diverse homogeneous ideas of politics is misleading people.

A politiian is a politician. Either you are in it to make money and provide good to people (socialism) or, you are in it to really make money and provide good to some people (fascism). Which is Sarah?

Tom   November 5th, 2009 12:54 pm ET

Sarah does get people elected. Among my family and associates she was one main reason why people voted OBAMA.

Jane   November 5th, 2009 12:53 pm ET

It isn't a book tour; its a campaign tour with a book for sale. How blind do you have to be to see that. I can understand it, who would want to be in Alaska when it gets dark for this long? Did she finish the book herself? Will she make it through the whole tour?

Jake from California   November 5th, 2009 12:50 pm ET

Newsmax is selling her book for $4.97, which makes it competitive with toilet paper.

Anonymous   November 5th, 2009 12:50 pm ET

I hardly think Palin is the conservative standard bearer. She's quit the governor's position. She raised a daughter who not only didn't abstain, but didn't practice safe sex. She has an infant she's not fully raising, and one that has special needs she's abandoning. She's been suspected of unethical behavior as governor. She tried to steal clothes provided for her by the Republican party campaign. How is she the epitome of right wing thinking? Her only qualification is her ownership of a gun!

Bob Dog   November 5th, 2009 12:50 pm ET

I think Palin's book tour is a great idea. Every $19.99 shelled out by a wide-eyed right winger, is $19.99 less they'll have to spend on a legitimate candidate in 2012. Go Sarah, Go!

smokey   November 5th, 2009 12:50 pm ET

Yeah, you're probably right, and that's what the real problem is in this country.

Obama for World Peace   November 5th, 2009 12:44 pm ET

I am not from the USA but progressive and true leaders like Obama make the world look up to and respect the US. I think most of the world despises republicans and their policies-it has never been a dislike for the US. Democrats are someone that can be worked with and talked too.Republicans are like the ancient Romans-arrogant and on their way out.

Is it possible to form a "tea party" anti Sarah and GOP party at the cities she is visiting ?

kimberly   November 5th, 2009 12:44 pm ET

Shes only going to places with educattions no higher than High School, and where people still believe the world was built in 7 days 4000 years ago...I mean COME ON, do you really think this twit would get anyone to show up in New York or LA??? NOT!

Brian - Seattle   November 5th, 2009 12:44 pm ET

Pretty obvious that no one in the cities likes her. Grand Rapids is a pretty religious town too. Very safe for her, which isn't unexpected. But hey, bet she makes more money this way. So good marketing I guess.

Stevens   November 5th, 2009 12:44 pm ET

Sarah Palin's America would probably look like this: book burning galore, gays, jews and atheists in 'reeducational camps', a mild return
to servitude for all people darker than Boehner, a very hawkish foreign policy and trickle down economics. I just can't wait for it all to happen...

Jessica from Grand Rapids   November 5th, 2009 12:43 pm ET

Grand Rapids went for Obama – 57% for Obama 40% for McCain.

Odd place to kick it off.

Ken in NC   November 5th, 2009 12:43 pm ET

Just herd that Palin supporters do not know how to find book stores so how will they be able to buy the book and if they did, how will they read the pictures if they can't read?

No Tulsa or Oklahoma CIty?

Those places would be Wingnut Heaven for her.

Real American   November 5th, 2009 12:42 pm ET

Bill   November 5th, 2009 12:41 pm ET

Its not any surprise. You go where it is safe to say stupid stuff and people will not challenge anything you say or do. She and the publisher are just playing it safe. You do have to wonder about someone who is still considering running in 2012 for President...do you play it safe and not go and talk with folks who might not agree with you. Earth to Sarah, America is a place where you are the President of the United states of America, not just the wing-nuts...It's kinda silly but what do expect from someone who is not very bright....

Cathy Reid   November 5th, 2009 12:41 pm ET

All of you who support Sarah Palin is in for a big surprise. She is doing everything she can to stay in the spotlight and learn. When she do shine it is not be because she has learned but because she don't have a glue or if you want an educated guess as to what is in store for her. Sarah stop messing up the minds of good people and go back and see Russia from your kitchen view.

unclej   November 5th, 2009 12:40 pm ET

I really would like to see a regular, common speaking person get in the running for Pres some day. I don't mean dumb when I say common speaking, I just mean honest, even when you may admitting that some plans in your own party aren't the best or may have been mistakes. Maybe some non-PC statements.

I thought Obama is as close to that as anyone in the past 20 yrs. I was hoping Palin would be that coming from a rural area, but unfortunately she is more hot air/rhetoric with no substance or real thoughts that would really result in any forward thinking.

There are smart, honest people in this country. Can't some party find one of them and get them to consider running?

NBohacfromSF   November 5th, 2009 12:40 pm ET

Lenny Pincus   November 5th, 2009 12:39 pm ET

She is a quitter. She is a narcissist. She willingly ran a socialist state that shared the profits of its natural resources with its citizens. Typically, neither she nor her fellow citizens realized that inconvenient truth. She claims to be a Christian but prayed with witch doctors. She wails for smaller government but eagerly spent earmarks on unnecessary projects. She's trained to be an announcer, sashay about in a swimsuit, and smile. If you find this appealing and will read her book, you deserve all the horse manure such hypocrisy and incompetence brings.

People that forgot more than he knows INCLUDING the founder of the Weather channel who uh, uh, uh knows about the subject called him a fraud, and the kissing coward ran like a frightened 6 year old.

How about him getting challenged AGAIN a few weeks ago and they cut off the guys mic?

That should RAISE some eyebrows, but my bad, he's a liberal and they do no wrong and their words are special.

Kahuna   November 5th, 2009 12:39 pm ET

There was an ad in yesterday's Arizona Republic for Palin's book. You could get the book for $4.56 with a subscription to some other magazine. Probably soldier of fortune. I would go listen to her on the book tour to record her speech and play it on you tube with my analysis. This one can speak for half an hour and not say anything of substance. Her speechs are nothing more than long strings of political buzzwords, more words that are supposed to indicate how much she loves America, and more words telling all how the problems of America were all caused by Liberals.

RTB   November 5th, 2009 12:39 pm ET

Covering the Alaskan Air Head is beneath the threshold of "News".

I think she is actually so stupid that she doesn't get that McCain picked her only for her physical appearance.....Get a clue, Sarah.
Last night I watched an episode of "All in the Family". I believe it was called "First and Last Supper". It's hurts me to think that after 40 years of most of America rising to a higher level regarding racism, hatred, and other evils of the human spirit, that the Republicans who love this woman are still so ignorant and rasict. These stupid tea baggers who don't think Obama is a citizen and yet they would put this empty headed lady in charge of all of our lives......

Ken in NC   November 5th, 2009 12:37 pm ET

Palin is going to simi-follow her campaign path and it was a loosing venture. Good idea for her. The best path for her to follow would be to avoid the lower 48 all together. I am amazed that without brain matter this woman manages to get one foot infront of the other and it would blow my mind to learn she has taken the time to read her own book. I predict this book will be a certified flop.

You can find many faults with Sarah Palin; she is arrogant, self-centered, egotistic, grossly dishonest, can be pompous and obnoxious, and is literally sociopathic without any conscience, to name just an obvious few. What is more disturbing is that she is another, like George W Bush, 'puppet'; a puppet for Special Interests and the influential, powerful and wealthy few who will satisfy her desires while she does their bidding, just as Bush-Cheney did. Currently they are busy working on building her support within the Party and next they will focus on selling her to the public. If ever they are successful, we can literally be fearful of being stuck with 'more of the same' that got us into so much trouble. If they ever succeed with a ticket like Palin-Kyl, we really could end up thinking that maybe Bush-Cheney wasn't so bad.

Jason   November 5th, 2009 12:33 pm ET

I am amazed that some of you would speak about smaller towns like you are. I live in a small town and many of these people are hard workers that are growing your food and raising the beef that you just purchase at the local grocery store with not knowing what it takes to produce it. If you only knew the half of what people can do in smaller towns you would be surprised because they know more than you.

"I would worry about Sarah Palin's safety in Democrat areas, just read the ticker, these angry liberals are known to act out their hate with extreme violence, as all of the most deadly areas of this nation with the highest murder rates are solidly Democrat."

Actually, when you look at the per capita murder and violent crime rates by state, New York and Illinois are not in the top 10. That honor is held by states like Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana, Texas, both Carolinas and Navada among others. Nice to see that the red states lead the nation in something besides crystal meth production. Have a nice day!

Angelique   November 5th, 2009 12:25 pm ET

"what is with CNN's obsession over Sarah Palin? everyday they've gotta report something."

They keep track of how many people read each story, evident by the "Most read stories" box. Of course they are going to keep reporting on things people are interested in. So you, my friend, have contributed to Palin's continued coverage! So might as well stop complaining.

Stephan Srock, Billings, Montana   November 5th, 2009 12:25 pm ET

Is it just me or does the majority of voting mature adults see how phony this "wannabe" is? She has an insatiable appetite for attention and unfortunately, the McCain campaign figured it out too late and cost him the election in my opinion. Let's look at the whole picture here.........it (she) is devoid of any semblance of ability and even more sadly any semblence of actually beleiving in the rhetoric she spews from both sides of her mouth. Perhaps "Gold Digger" would be the most appropriate word for this flash in the pan.

ThinkAgain   November 5th, 2009 12:24 pm ET

Let's see .... when it suits her, Palin invokes the attacks of 9/11 as a way to stir up patriotism and justification for the war in Iraq and torture.

When it also suits her, she belittles New York and other big cities as not "real America" and avoids them like the plague.

Which is it, Sarah? Which one is the "real" America? Or is it you're such an ignorant opportunist that you'll say anything to be popular with your “base.”

News flash, Sarah: You're a hypocrite – and we're not that stupid.

BRIAN   November 5th, 2009 12:24 pm ET

She is only going visit places where "real americans live and vote " ,and she will aviod the areas which contian fake Americans ( those that voted for Pres Obama)

Katie   November 5th, 2009 12:24 pm ET

So she intends to pander to the people who adore her and who will buy her book . Good for her, for figuring out what she needs to do make money and to feel loved. Insecure narcissists do this sort of thing all the time, it helps them validate their sense of self-worth while avoiding any kind of conflict. No one with any brains will think that means the book is any good or that she is somehow important. If she thinks it'll help her with a future in politics, she'll give her opponents even more material to work with. Big cities may not be where Sarah will find a lot of support, but they are where the votes are.

Gina   November 5th, 2009 12:24 pm ET

I have already purchased her book. The best book I have bought in a long time.

Tex   November 5th, 2009 12:24 pm ET

Ahahaha this is pirceless! She would get tomatoes thrown at her if she entered a 'liberal haven'. Read: places where lots of people live who have educations and money.

Luke   November 5th, 2009 12:23 pm ET

No wonder the rest of the world think Americans are the dumbest people on the planet. This is a perfect example

Reagan was wrong   November 5th, 2009 12:23 pm ET

Minnesotan   November 5th, 2009 12:23 pm ET

Yeah, probably best to avoid those areas of concentrated populations. You, that enormously large cross section of our country that can't stand this woman. Stick to the bubble you contain yourself in so you don't have to actually correct anything you do that is stupid.

ted thompson   November 5th, 2009 12:23 pm ET

I love CNN's garbage headline term "raises eyebrows". It's as if they are saying this is bad news about Palin, but unfortunately there isn't any facts to support that. Of course going mid-size cities rather than large ones means she should not be the next president, even more it clearly shows she is a bad person. Another great unbiased article CNN!

tina   November 5th, 2009 12:23 pm ET

Sarah Palin is the only politician that has the guts to say what's right and not sell out to interest groups – like Obama!

Go Sarah! I support you all the way!

PK California   November 5th, 2009 12:21 pm ET

Only friendly territory! The book can already be puchased for under $5. Her ego needs the cheers from those who think she's HUNKY DORRY,you betcha!!! She's spending more on book tours than it's worth. But she is taking a tip from GWB. His speeches were made in front of servicemen and women who dare not boo or disagree in any way, no matter how they felt. These people won't ask her questions that we know she can't answer. Criticize what has been said or done, that's about the extent of her knowledge. Makes her look like she knows something about the subject. Sofa quarter backing is sooooo hard to do!

D. D.   November 5th, 2009 12:21 pm ET

Isn't there some cities and towns in Alaska that would like to see their former Governor? She might want to tour back there.

Palin might as well go visit the areas where the "REAL" Americans live. Go visit the ones holding on to their Bibles and guns and would spend their meager earnings to buy and read such stuff.

Please take the 15 seconds it takes to look up the following words: Marxist, communist, socialist, fascist.

You righties clearly don't know Groucho from Karl. It just makes you sound amazingly stupid when you spout those tag lines you hear sean and rush repeat ad nauseum. And calling a mixed race child of a single parent "elitist" is too funny for words. So President Obama is elitist, but the guy who went to Andover prep, yale and harvard as a legacy (there is no way in hail they would have done anything but laugh at his app if he were not a legacy with a famous name and a dad in polticis and a grandpa who ran citibank) is a regular guy????

I certainly do not want the local sports gal running the nation. Or even my local school board.

uncle ellsworthey   November 5th, 2009 12:20 pm ET

Keep discounting this lady all you want. One of these days you all are in for a rude awakening, since you don't seem to realize what's really going on in this country.

Franco   November 5th, 2009 12:20 pm ET

Tell me if I am wrong, but I thought the President spoke of "Civility" and "Tolerance" . But those of you who worship him do not seem to pay attention. As I read the above remarks, here is an example of the "refined" and "civil" vocabulary you liberals use to describe Sarah Palin, who, by the way, has all the rights of any American to speak her mind. The best you can do, instead of focusing on issues you disagree, you revert to: dumb, moron, airhead, rag, barracuda, bimbo, to name a few. How would you like if someone were to direct those remarks against your mother, wife, best friend? Or perhaps against you? You believe in tolerance, yet you exhibit none. Would ask you to elevate your speech in a manner to show respect to all humans. You wonder why this country is so divided across racial/ethnic/religious lines and why there is so much violence? Just scroll through all these comments, then you will know. Thanks all

It really is a sad commentary on American politics when you're applauded more for what you don't know than what you do know. As Bill Maher so eloquently put it..."Sarah is a Bimbo".

GoingRogue   November 5th, 2009 12:19 pm ET

You can't win can you Sarah.

If you had gone to the big cities the kooks would have said you are ignoring your supporters.

I have to travel 285 miles to get my book signed because you are giving hard working Americans the chance to meet you.

I am glad to do so. That is Palin Power!

chuck   November 5th, 2009 12:19 pm ET

What a DISGUST? Sarah Palin is looking for her preys to crucify their pockets in this hard recession season. This money grabber will do everything to sell her lies and slander around the United States.

Jackie in Dallas   November 5th, 2009 12:19 pm ET

Guys, she's not coming to your mid-sized cities because that's where Real Americans are - there are a lot of us in the big cities. She's going where she can shill her book.

Real Americans believe in the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and especially, freedom of speech. As a Vietnam era veteran who has voted every election since I became eligible to vote, done my civic duties, paid my taxes, and voted both sides of the ticket, I resent, as do a lot of us moderates, being disenfranchised by you guys simply because we do not follow the same extremist political doctrine as you.

If she seriously wants to make a run for President, or have any relevance in national politics, she must come to big cities and make her case. It is a fact of political life. If she cannot sell her values, beliefs, and political platform in the big cities, she is doomed to failure.

suefromALASKA   November 5th, 2009 12:19 pm ET

Better she be running around the country than staying in Alaska. No one here wants her.

As she herself stated, "I don't want to go back to Alaska".

And she is not wanted here, also, too.

David   November 5th, 2009 12:19 pm ET

She is a charlatan and a liar. And most everybody now understands that.

Jeff   November 5th, 2009 12:19 pm ET

Err... Jacksonville is the largest city in Florida, so its not that she's going to "smaller" cities, she's just going to what her pollsters have determined are more conservative cities. That's all well and good, but don't claim that she going to "small cities", state the truth that she is going to conservative cities, which is pretty much an obvious thing for her to do....

Terry in Alaska   November 5th, 2009 12:19 pm ET

"Random House Dictionary," defines ROGUE as:

A dishonest, knavish person; scoundrel; a tramp or vagabond; to live or act as a rogue; to cheat; no longer obedient or accepted and hence not controllable or answerable; deviating; renegade. Synonyms: villain, trickster, swindler, cheat, mountebank, quack.

Sarah was indeed very astute when she decided on the title for her upcoming book! Describes her perfectly.

Dave   November 5th, 2009 12:18 pm ET

"You libs are so scared of palin its pathetic. If she was a nothing, a nobody, you wouldn’t care. But because she is a legitimate threat to dem power she gets blasted for everything she does."

LOL! Yeah, pal, we're just scared to death of this trailer trash idiot. If you honestly think she's a legitimate threat, I have some swamp land to sell you in Death Valley.

Steve   November 5th, 2009 12:18 pm ET

Bob87   November 5th, 2009 12:18 pm ET

I notice her $30 book is now selling for $9 on Amazon and we just saw a TV commercial advertising it for $4.97. This may suggest it's more valuable for a doorstop than it's content. At those prices, somebody is losing money on this project.

Mike Mundy, Houston, TX   November 5th, 2009 12:17 pm ET

Stevens   November 5th, 2009 12:17 pm ET

If, by some great misfortune, Sarah and her followers would rise to power, it would mean the end of the US as a democratic nation.
The laws of the land will give way to the bible, tranforming the US in a
rigid authoritarian idiocracy. Or theocracy, which is basically the same.
And still there are idiots who support her. But then again, a nation that
voted for W. Bush (twice) doesn't deserve anything better.

William, CA   November 5th, 2009 12:17 pm ET

Ed Tallahassee   November 5th, 2009 12:17 pm ET

johnrj08   November 5th, 2009 12:17 pm ET

Palin's advisors know that the large urban areas are, generally speaking, more educated and less conservative, so it would be a mistake for her to step into those lions' dens. I don't blame her for wanting to go the "safe" route in hocking a book which she did not write.

keith A. sillsbury   November 5th, 2009 12:17 pm ET

We would prefer she skips fayetville also. We don't like her in NC anyway. We feel sorry for her being stupid and all but we still don't like her.

ThinkAgain   November 5th, 2009 12:16 pm ET

Typical scaredy-cat Palin! Going only to small cities where she knows people will like her, and no one will ask her any tough questions like, "What word processing program did you use to write your book?"

Just as predictably, she'll spin the airhead crowds who'll come out to see her as proof of her "popularity" and "viability" as a future presidential candidate – although I doubt she'll say "viability" – probably too big a word for her.

What a sad commentary on our society that a woman of such low intellect and character can make a career out of being a quitter, a liar and a mooch!

Emma   November 5th, 2009 12:16 pm ET

Sarah, you received your one million plus $$$, but how will your book
result in benefits to Americans? Or is it your hope that you will be perceived differently by those who did not support you, due to your limitations in governance knowledge? Your public image and your
actions say more about you as a person and politician than does any story written about you for your own gain. Why read the book?

Darlene   November 5th, 2009 12:16 pm ET

As a Republican I am totally embarassed each time I hear or see this lady and I'm completely mystified that "some" Republicans think she will be the salvation of the party in 2012.

For those thinking Sarah is hiding from opposition: How do you explain the upcoming appearances on Oprah and a five segment sit down with Barbara Walters?

roro   November 5th, 2009 12:15 pm ET

Who cares about this pretty face with nothing meaningful behind it? She's just cashing in on her intellectual vacuum. She couldn't even write the book, itself, and needed a ghost writer. I would not pay one beautiful Abe for this shockingly stupid woman's thoughts.

Memphis Tigers   November 5th, 2009 12:15 pm ET

I'm an independent, and what amazes me is the hatred and intolerance of conservatives who make up at least half of this country. Liberals claim they accept so many people, even of the gay persuasion but they have a lot of trouble for some reason accepting anyone else that say believes in a religion. Why in a religious free country do liberals constantly try to bash people that believe in a religion? Everyone needs to look in the mirror and stop pointing fingers at people you don't even know and have seen a 2 second soundbite of.

Andrew   November 5th, 2009 12:14 pm ET

Just like in the election, the only people she is impressing are the fox news lemmings.

David/Florida   November 5th, 2009 12:14 pm ET

Just what I needed to hear. We retired and had planned to move to " The Villages" by early 2010. To our dismay I found out this week that about 80 % of the population are repubs, religious right Bibel Thumpers. The icing on the cake is that dumb Sarah will stop there to promote her dribblings. That does it for me. Anybody that associates with her ilk like fat Rush, "Adolf" Hannity, SS Trooper Beck etc.etc. I will stay away from. Lost 28 members of my family in German Concentration Camps. May God save America and our hardworking, unappreciated President.

Clifford in New York   November 5th, 2009 12:14 pm ET

I love how this beautiful, savy Christian woman has all the devil loving Liberals in a tizzy! You can trash her all you want but she will end up biting you in the end! The reason Doug Hoffman won the 23 congresstional seat in New Your is because of the split vote between the Conservative and the Republican candiates. But most of all not having Obama campaign for Doug Hoffman also helped his cause!

Dave   November 5th, 2009 12:14 pm ET

I love reading all of these "open minded" liberal comments about Palin...HA!
Barry writes in audacity of hope that "white folks greed runs a world in need" and then he goes on to call his grandmother a "typical white person" and he gets a pass from the liberal media.
But Sarah Palin on the other hand says that barry "pals around with terrorists" (which is completely true by the way) because he hangs out at bill ayers house, and she is the devisive one ??
Liberals are insane.

Afkbrad   November 5th, 2009 12:13 pm ET

Non-sequitur argument... poverty can breed violence . Just because one is democrat doesn't make one violent.

She has the right to quit her job, write a book and try to promote it. We have the right to utterly ignore her and not buy it. Let's not criticize her rights since that is what this country is based on. But then again...If you want to call her an opportunist who took a book deal because she got the taste of nice hotels and nice clothes and liked people whispering in her ear how exceptional she was and then ignored her commentment to the people of Alaska....well, you are practicing your freedom of speech and your rights also.

RichmondRob   November 5th, 2009 12:12 pm ET

Everytime a Sarah Palin newsstory comes up I get to read the Sarah hater comments. Most, of course, are simple stupid bashing comments with no grounds in fact. If one critized the POTUS this way you would be called a racist or a country hick or perhaps even a Fox News worshipper.

If you don't like the lady fair enough. But give the rabid ridiculous commentary a rest.

t22   November 5th, 2009 12:11 pm ET

We, the majority of Americans who live in suburbs, smaller cities and rural areas are open to ideas of anyone from Gov. Palin to Pres. Obama. It seems it's those in power who are most afraid of the American people. She's going to where the working people are. Why go to NY where rich and poor alike are just sucking up our tax dollars?

Conserva-Baggers are bad for America   November 5th, 2009 12:11 pm ET

In the world according to Sarah, the only REAL Americans live in small town America. The big cities are full of infidels, according to Sarah and her ilk. Just one more example of her short-sighted, narrow-minded, ignorant bigotry.

Randy   November 5th, 2009 12:11 pm ET

She is wasting her time period. Her ardent followers dont read, they will buy this and keep it in its original packaging. I might buy it if there are cartoons in it, just like her real life.

CNN's fascination with this woman is the fact that you all continue to comment on every single story on her!! They fill up within minutes....so FYI liberal's, CNN will continue to post any and everything on them because of your obsession with her!! I love how much you left-wingers hate her! I've never seen anything like it in my entire life! My favorite is "CNN please quit posting on her, is this news??? When will this woman ever go away?" Well, the answer is never if you continue to post! But thanks and keep obsessing over her liberals!!!

Irma in North Carolina   November 5th, 2009 12:08 pm ET

I think the Book Sarah from Alaska would be a much better book to buy it will be a book of truth where hers will be all lies. Isnt it interesting that the publishing company that did her book is owned by the president of fox news. So it will be the fox news lovers who will be buying her book. The rest of the companys that bought the book in bulk will be stuck with the books. It is already going for $4.97. Next deal will be 2 for $5.00. She isnt going by the white house so she could promot it to the republicans that are there.

Dale   November 5th, 2009 12:08 pm ET

Look, I'm sick of Palin as well, but if you don't like reading about her, just skip the topic here. It's on the Political Ticker and not a splash on the front page of the website for a reason folks – this is were the minor, grab-bag political-related news goes. No matter how unsincere or obnoxiously clueless Palin is, she IS news because she did run for Vice President.

This is a minor story about a minor politician that in two years people are only going to vaguely remember. Heck, her book-signing is already hitting a speedbump: she can't even get major cities lined up so her publisher has to do a song-and-dance about why she's only going to the towns that voted for her (i.e. "go where the money is"). Just shows that she's scared of the big cities. Or more importantly, scared of liberals because they can easily shoot down all the nonsense she tries to convince others to believe in (whether she believes it or not). She's just a coward in it for the money. Nothing more.

Alex P. Keaton   November 5th, 2009 12:08 pm ET

She is awesome. I want a "regular person" to represent me, NOT a Marxist-elitist who thinks he's smarter than me (which, in most cases, is not true, anyway).

Big E in Michigan   November 5th, 2009 12:07 pm ET

Maybe she is only going to the places where the majority of the voters can read? Or maybe, just maybe, she is going to places that have a plurality of conservative individuals willing to consider reading her book? And, oh, by the way, she doen't have to explain her decisions to anyone, especially those that wouldn't listen anyway.

LIP   November 5th, 2009 12:07 pm ET

Makes perfect sense. The larger cities are full of liberals. She should visit the real people that make up the guts of this country.

this woman sounds more and more like a pied piper than a leader. She is only interested in talking to the faithful and seems to have absolutely no interest whatsoever in converting the unfaithful. I think she is scared to lead and terrified to go into hostile environments. Who can respect someone like that? God save America if she was ever at the helm.

Let's do a rundown of best selling political authors this year: Mark Levin, Ann Coulter, Michelle Malkin, Glenn Beck, and now Sarah Palin. Notice a trend dems? The right wing tide of anger towards more spending, more government control, and a socialist style of government is just starting. You ain't seen nothing yet dems!

i'm not surprised.

not really newsworthy.

ross berg-buffalo ny   November 5th, 2009 12:03 pm ET

For her sake ( and I guess the publishers too) let's hope she's better at book selling than polotics.

Her endorsement Of Doug Hoffman in the NY23 race proved to be his kiss of death. Exit polls showed that a vast majority of swing voters gave Palins endorsement of Hoffman as a major reason they voted for the Democrat.

My guess is that the leadership of the Democratic party is keeping its fingers crossed that Palin stays on the national stage and maybe even manages to end up on the Republicans national ticket in '012. If they get that lucky they can go fishing insted of campaigning as this woman will certainly self-destruct!!

Reagan was wrong   November 5th, 2009 12:03 pm ET

Ok, it's pretty obvious by now that Sarah Palin has no intention to try and appeal to anyone outside the GOP base, probably because those are the people who are most eager to hand over their hard-earned money in exchange for whatever garbage she's peddling.

Jackie in Dallas   November 5th, 2009 12:03 pm ET

CNN, what is the fascination with this woman? She's no longer a governor, no longer a candidate, and no longer relevant on the Ticker. Her book tour information should properly fall under the Entertainment section, since it is clearly a work of fiction.

Thankfully, I live in a big city...one not considered by Ms Palin as part of Real America, so hopefully we will be spared.

This woman has nothing to say....why would she bother coming to our towns? I would gladly donate $5 to fund the "Return Palin to Alaska Fund".

Kel   November 5th, 2009 12:02 pm ET

Maybe she knows that people in big cities won't give her a heroes reception. There might even be some that won't like her there! Wow, what a surprise!

Not in my backyard   November 5th, 2009 12:02 pm ET

She's coming to Rochester, NY – But we don't want her here!!!

Ben   November 5th, 2009 12:02 pm ET

If you live in a big city you have to learn to cooperate with people that you disagree with due to close quarters. It makes you more tolerant and gives you a better understanding of how you can be ignorant as to the issues some communities have to deal with. What Palin does is the equivalent of book burning: She purposely hides from knowledge. She hides from knowledge which challenges her preconceived notions. Every religious extremist I've had the displeasure of meeting is the exact same. Purposely blinding themselves from information so as to not challenge what they believe is "the truth".

This is an insult to the enlightenment philosophy of our founders which thrived on accepting new information. She disgusts me.

Missy M   November 5th, 2009 12:02 pm ET

Good for Palin. Booking her appearances with people most-likely to buy her book is a wise use of time and a good marketing strategy. Why would she even consider booking an appearance in San Francisco or New York? That would make no sense at all as I'm sure she knows she's not likely to sell may books in those areas.

B. Churchill   November 5th, 2009 12:02 pm ET

God bless her – she just wants to show the folks who live in those areas what a book actually looks like. Imagine paying full price for the book to get her autograph in it when it's available online for 4.99 – soon to be .99...

Jack in Florida   November 5th, 2009 12:01 pm ET

That is because the residents of the larger cities are usually more savvy than those in the smaller cities that voted for McCain and Palin. The larger cities know she is a moron and and idiot and will not buy her book...............those in the smaller cities........????

dick delson   November 5th, 2009 12:01 pm ET

only in America can a woman as dumb as Sarah Palin is, still attract attention. This is John McCain's legacy to politics.

Anonymous   November 5th, 2009 12:01 pm ET

David   November 5th, 2009 12:00 pm ET

I hope she goes on Wolfe Blitzer.Blitzer is a great fair man who doesnt take sides for the most part.I really liked his previuos interviews with her.He asked straight foward questions that were reasonable.Looks like she is however hitting the typical fox shows. It would be in my opinion a better stratigey to include cnn.I think she will before the tour ends because she does like Wolfe.I hope she does well, just like I hope Obama does well.I like both these politicians, fox people in general are hard on Obama, cnn not so much.Cnn seems to allways try to report rather than toss in opinion by most anchours. So Palin should go on cnn not just fox and Walters. We are in our house buying this book like we bought Obamas.

Sara The AirHead Palin

kq   November 5th, 2009 12:00 pm ET

She didn't know how to campaign, I guess she doesn't even know how to promote a book.

Afkbrad   November 5th, 2009 12:00 pm ET

Sarah is following a smart business model. City folks hold very negative views of Christians, rural folks, and conservatism in general. Why try to sell books to dems anyway? If the book isn't a pop up written by Michael Moore or some other dem dunce they won't read it anyway. Why are dems so afraid of ideas from their own country? Why not learn something about folks who don't think like you?

Thomas   November 5th, 2009 12:00 pm ET

When is she going over seas to promote her rag ?
she will do good in North Korea .
A rouge with a cause $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Kim   November 5th, 2009 11:59 am ET

Great...who is taking care of her special needs child that she likes to parade around when it is convenient for her. What a joke she is. I can't belive that anyone who has any brains at all, takes her seriously. I'm sure she is not hitting the larger cities is because she can't deal with the harder questions that might arise. Go back to Alaska.

Hockey Dad   November 5th, 2009 11:59 am ET

To use a sport analogy,... Sarah Palin is a minor leaguer,... so it's only appropriate she sticks to the minor league circuit,... the Fox news bush league territory.

Rob R   November 5th, 2009 11:58 am ET

Does anyone remember her "theme song"? Does anyone know the lyrics to "Barracuda"? Very appropriate...

Ariana, VA   November 5th, 2009 11:58 am ET

Of course because those living in cities are "evil." And those living in the boondocks are people of God.

AEK   November 5th, 2009 11:58 am ET

I'm sorry, I don't think I'm familiar with this person. Sarah who? Was she an important political figure, active in women's rights, entertainment personality, no, none of those? What's the big deal then?

GPraz   November 5th, 2009 11:57 am ET

Tell her to come to Philly wearing a Yankees hat in the next week! That would be going rogue!

Lou - Manchester, CT   November 5th, 2009 11:57 am ET

I'll said it to you before, Sarah...

Don't go away mad, just go away!

pgjohnw   November 5th, 2009 11:57 am ET

You libs are so scared of palin its pathetic. If she was a nothing, a nobody, you wouldn’t care. But because she is a legitimate threat to dem power she gets blasted for everything she does

A guy   November 5th, 2009 11:57 am ET

Come on folks, clearly she's only going to cities from which you can see Russia...er...yeah, that's it.

C. Farrell, Houston, Tx   November 5th, 2009 11:56 am ET

Palin and husband both quit their jobs, I'm sure unemployed people aren't interested in hearing about job loss, they didn't have that choice to just up and quit.

mr2percent   November 5th, 2009 11:56 am ET

is she calling it the "Real America book tour"? This woman is beyond ridiculous.

it's like she said, "I've got an idea to sell this book...let's not promote it an any of the largest metropolitan areas in the country! We'll stick it to those elite city slickers."

[facepalm]

Jack Adams   November 5th, 2009 11:56 am ET

Nitwit !! Hope her book is a disaster and she crawls back to under the stones shat she come from. I do wonder who is her ghost writer!!
Maybe it will be the Right wing manifesto!!

Sarah for president!!

Joe   November 5th, 2009 11:56 am ET

Why doesn't this person just go away. She's so far over her head that it is ALMOST funny. But more than funny it is pathetic. I pity the people who call this person their role model. Come on folks, she couldn't run an ice cream store, imagine the mess she would make in Washington. Yes, even worse than it is now!!

sanity check   November 5th, 2009 11:56 am ET

Sarah, the majority has spoken. We hate you.

Brian MacDougall   November 5th, 2009 11:56 am ET

I love when people call Sarah "the libs' worst nightmare." You don't get it: we LOVE her! We can't get enough of her! Why do you think CNN runs stories about her night and day? We WANT her to run in 2012, so that she can work that special Sarah magic of hers, just like she did in NY-23. I'm sure Owens sent her a nice big bouquet or roses.

As for her book, there's an old saying in the music business: it shipped Gold and returned Platinum.

sideon   November 5th, 2009 11:55 am ET

She needs a better brand and marketing strategy of herself. Instead of small-town, 'git 'er done!' and 'aw, shucks' kind of pandering, she could instead play to her strengths and appeal to the masses by going the Levi Johnston route and posing nude for Playboy. People would take her more seriously if she shut up and took off her clothes.

Joe   November 5th, 2009 11:55 am ET

So, I have three questions....

#1 Who wrote the book for her?

#2 Who will read it to her?

#3 Will she be able to color within the lines of all the purdy pictures it must have?

sanity check   November 5th, 2009 11:55 am ET

Anyone that thinks this woman is intelligent, isn't.

Willy Brown   November 5th, 2009 11:54 am ET

Mark   November 5th, 2009 11:54 am ET

good for her!

Bill   November 5th, 2009 11:54 am ET

This just shows how smart she really is. Why would she want to go to these cities just to be rudely savaged by pseudointellectuals who wouldn't buy her book anyway? Don't y'all worry, she'll go there when the time is right. Yes she will.

Buffalo Bill   November 5th, 2009 11:54 am ET

Ken Pontac   November 5th, 2009 11:54 am ET

JD   November 5th, 2009 11:54 am ET

she's staying in "real America"

DMR   November 5th, 2009 11:53 am ET

Sarah Palin needs to do the entire nation a huge favor and don't go away mad, just go away. If she continues on her push to run for president she will assure the CONservatives they will never see the inside of the White House again. Wasn't GWB enough of the brainless CONservatives in office?

How did she miss coming here to East Tennessee?

Jackmack   November 5th, 2009 11:52 am ET

Chris Adams   November 5th, 2009 11:52 am ET

For some reason I can't get that out of my head when I read this..

Such a total and utter disgrace to women..Please go take care of your children Sarah !!! I don't know how ANY woman can back this piece of work....Rebulican, Democrat ...whatever....she sets women back 50 years and I just hope some of her "handlers" would just tell her to stop....but then again....the Democrats THANK YOU...you are raising our membership...Thank you Sarah ... THANK YOU...

Amos   November 5th, 2009 11:51 am ET

Target marketing. Either way she is going to make

Doug, New Jersey   November 5th, 2009 11:50 am ET

I would worry about Sarah Palin's safety in Democrat areas, just read the ticker, these angry liberals are known to act out their hate with extreme violence, as all of the most deadly areas of this nation with the highest murder rates are solidly Democrat.

Democrats have not just been wishing harm on Sarah, but her whole family, including her children as well.

Whereas the people wishing Obama harm are just Democrat plants pretending to be Republicans, a majority of Democrats want to see actual harm inflicted on Sarah Palin, and some of them will act out their intentions. They believe that it would be what Obama wanted, their god, and while maybe not what Barak would support, the same cannot be said for a majority of his cabinet, and Democrats in the house like Grayson. All throughout history, when leftist extremists are confronted with someone who speaks the truth about them, they feel a need to silence that person.

Hank   November 5th, 2009 11:50 am ET

Her book tour may raise eyebrows, but it won't raise the intellect of those wasting their time reading this tribble.

SH in TX   November 5th, 2009 11:49 am ET

Another day another Palin story. CNN, enough is enough. Why are you wasting good politican news space on this moron?

larry   November 5th, 2009 11:49 am ET

A wise move on Palin's part. There are too many intelligent people in the big cities who wouldn't waste their time reading her lies. She appeals to the dumb sheep from rural America who follow right wing bull.

Ethan   November 5th, 2009 11:49 am ET

Who cares about Sarah Palin's pathetic ME ME ME book tour?!

SAVVY OLDTIMER   November 5th, 2009 11:48 am ET

Jeff, Huntington Beach, CA   November 5th, 2009 11:48 am ET

Hopefully... more of us "big city folk" will get and stay involved in the voting process. The lunatics and ignorant are attempting to take over the asylum. I wonder if Sarah Palin's worshippers also read comic books.

I heard a supporter of Hoffman (the "conservative" who Palin endorsed) in the 23rd saying that civilization is only 6000 years old.

SammyD   November 5th, 2009 11:47 am ET

No wonder you guys are so low in the ratings, everyday it's a story about Palin, who cares??? Can you report on the important stuff, like Cap & Trade, czars, the protest in DC today???

Tom Kaye   November 5th, 2009 11:47 am ET

Palin, like she avoided the major network Sunday shows is now avoiding the major cities & urban areas. Most of her TV appearances were on right-wing talk/TV shows and now she's going to those same types of towns. If she wants to be taken seriously (yeah, right!) she needs to preach to more than the choir!

Bill Sampson   November 5th, 2009 11:47 am ET

We'll certainly miss her words of wisdom as the hawks a "book" she didn't write and probably didn't read.

Ez   November 5th, 2009 11:46 am ET

This is exactly why Sarah Palin will NEVER be President. She REFUSES to face mainstream media. She's been dicking and dodging everything and anyone who will CALL HER OUT on her record and her ideology. She's running scared, scared.

Typical Republican, always running behind closed doors and hiding from the REALITY. When the tough get going, Sarah Palin runs and hides, hides, hides.

Zig   November 5th, 2009 11:46 am ET

Sarah who?

Rich   November 5th, 2009 11:46 am ET

Palin is a nutwing embarrassment to the right

Pokey   November 5th, 2009 11:46 am ET

I guess our big cities just aren't american enough for palin....

Mike   November 5th, 2009 11:45 am ET

Is this is a surprise? This is the same "Real America" in her term and "small town people who cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them ..." in Obama's term. Who on earth would show for Palin's book tour, specially in places like New York, Chicago, LA or San Francisco. I mean places in which people really read books, papers and have alternative access to news, internet etc.

DPXRob   November 5th, 2009 11:45 am ET

Is this bimbo forgotten about yet?

How many months before we can sit back and laugh at the crazy quitter for Alaska who would be Queen of America.

michael   November 5th, 2009 11:45 am ET

Good. We don't need her. Hope the big cities organize a boycott of her stupid book. She's a total clown.

Dave   November 5th, 2009 11:45 am ET

Hopefully she comes to Kanas City. We here actually love the country and are extremely leary about the marixist in power right now.
Sarah is extremely intelligent and those her underestimate her will be in for a surprise. Keep watching because it's going to get interesting...

becky   November 5th, 2009 11:44 am ET

Wont read it.

Anything this woman says, does, or thinks is not worth my time.

I am seriously considering not viewing CNN anymore due in part to its constant coverage of exactly this type of tripe pretending to be news.

Lindsey   November 5th, 2009 11:44 am ET

Of course she would go to Jacksonville Florida. The IQ level is 20 points lower there than anywhere else in the state

I wonder if   November 5th, 2009 11:43 am ET

I wonder if the GOP now is looking over at McCain and saying

"Great.... boy genius, really smooth move, way to go giving this kook the spotlight and a microphone. In your desperation John, youve thrown the party back 100 years. As she throws progress out the window."

Some republican guy   November 5th, 2009 11:43 am ET

Because the real Americans live outside the big cities. Big cities are the lair of the narcisstic socialist obamabots and the libtarded Oprah watching union thugs!!!!!! Just go to the cities and see how they drive and you'll see what I mean. I would never let my grandbabies go their because they would get run over by an illeagle alien from ACORN driving a fuel efficient foreign made car like an Opel or an Entlein or something instead of a SUV like real Americans drive. Have a nice day!

Anonymous   November 5th, 2009 11:43 am ET

They don't mention that 90% of The worst president of our time "Obama" has gone to states that voted for him when he gives a speech. Palin is doing the same thing. He can't handle the heat or a speech without a teleprompter and I wish she would just go away!

jnywest   November 5th, 2009 11:42 am ET

So, she is avoiding the most densly populated and ethnicly, politically, socially, and religously diverse areas of the country. Hmm...sounds like the campaign.

ghostwriter   November 5th, 2009 11:42 am ET

Great! Can't wait to see her go PAST Ohio. Another bullet dodged.

Yikes!   November 5th, 2009 11:42 am ET

Here's behavoiur that shows she wants to represent all the people... as long as those people voted for her. Doesn't send out a very inclusive message, in my opinion.

Bill O really   November 5th, 2009 11:41 am ET

I am tired of Sarah Palin stories..I don't think this women can even read or write and yet get all the attention from the media..I'd buy her a ticket back to Wasilla, Alaska and ask her not to return to the main land..Stay as close to Russia as you can!!!!

tjaman   November 5th, 2009 11:41 am ET

I want to see her plug her book on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.

David Marchisotto   November 5th, 2009 11:40 am ET

Gee, what a surprise, she is going to stay away from the cities where she would be (rightly) criticized and stick to the places where she is sure that people agree with her.

There's nothing like a person who can handle criticism, right?

Why doesn't she just stay home and read the book to her family. I mean, they are her biggest supporters and from what I've seen, I'm pretty sure none of them could read it for themselves anyway.

Fair is Fair   November 5th, 2009 11:40 am ET

LOVE the Palin articles! Keep them coming!!!!!!!

Joe in CT - not Lieberman!!!   November 5th, 2009 11:40 am ET

Gee, This will be just like "W's" tours in 2004 when he had hand-picked audiences to spend five minutes telling him how wonderful he was and then ask how he picked out his ties! If she wants to play in the big leagues, she better make it to Democratic party strongholds! She already captured the Conservative base, if she doesn't play well to the rest of the country she will lead the Republican party to their biggest disaster since Goldwater in '64. Not that I (a liberal democrat) will lose much sleep over that.

Chris   November 5th, 2009 11:40 am ET

This "story" and so many others that CNN publishes about Sarah Palin is not news worthy. You might as well have a direct feed from her Twitter or Facebook account.

Pete   November 5th, 2009 11:39 am ET

Sarah, Sarah, go away, come again some other........well, never.

laurie   November 5th, 2009 11:39 am ET

What, no Eugene, Oregon? We're all so disappointed. WE were planning on throwing organic tomatoes at her.

SkiDoc   November 5th, 2009 11:39 am ET

Super smart. Like would anyone expect her to start in hopelessly blue NYC? Wish I lived in Birmingham – might be kinda fun to see the libs' worst nightmare up close and personal. Go Sarah!!

Suzan   November 5th, 2009 11:39 am ET

She's AFRAID to go to the bigger towns, she is running scared just like she did during the campaign. She isn't going to demorcratic states or places that she knows she is not welcomed and will be BOOED. Just like the interviews she is going to give ( FOX, Limbaugh, Beck, Hannity, O'Riely) You don't see her giving interviews for ABC, NBC, CBS or CNN. I can't think for the life of me why she is doing Oparh and wanting Barbara Walters to interview her, does she think they are going to only ask the questions she wants asked so she can have her prepared speech ready........I hope Oparh and Barbara take off the KID GLOVES when she is being interviewed and ask her the real hard questions.........I I bet after these interviews Palin will complain about not being treated fairly

Len in Washington   November 5th, 2009 11:39 am ET

She's simply terrified to get out of her "comfort zone."
Imagine where she wouldn't go if she ever got elected. So much for repairing our international image.
I don't think so.
She's not a viable candidate for anything but "The Quitters Society."

Danielson, Pittsburgh PA   November 5th, 2009 11:38 am ET

If you purchase this book, or waste even an ounce of gas or a moment of thought in an effort to see this bubblehead at a local bookstore...then you are part of the problem in this country.

Aren't we dumb enough? Aren't we hyper-critical enough? Aren't there enough people using religion as a cudgel and common sense as a doormat and fear as a way to scare a populace into submission?

This isn't a book–its an indictment of how, in America, fanaticism is alive, well, and JUST as dangerous as anything Al Quaeda could cook up....

Phat Elvis   November 5th, 2009 11:37 am ET

2nd tier markets for a 2nd tier political figure. no surprise there!

Emmanuel Goldstein   November 5th, 2009 11:36 am ET

I encourage all of you hard-core progressives to go to those places for protests. Be sure to make your presence known, too. Cars with lots of Obama stickers will help with that.

And don't be afraid to get in the faces of the locals and tell them what you think of them. They will respect you for it.

strong   November 5th, 2009 11:35 am ET

So, a ghostwriter wrote a book for Palin. Who cares.

Who reads these books anyways, and who would fork out big bucks for such trash? Palin has nothing of interest to say, from my standpoint. But she is cute.

Enough about her.

Steve   November 5th, 2009 11:33 am ET

Quitter as governor, coward as author. She'll just stick to the safe ground, where she won't be challenged on anything. Probably a good plan, since she's not intellectually equipped to meet any challenge that might arise. She should just make a tour of churches.

Right Trash   November 5th, 2009 11:33 am ET

It's a bit of an overstatement to call the locations she's visiting "cities". They're more like conservative enclaves where Sarah is certain to be worshipped by those who live there. Why not be honest – the real reason she's not going to any major metropolitan areas is because she's a joke and would be laughed out of town.

Franky, Land of Lincoln   November 5th, 2009 11:33 am ET

I probably should check her out when she comes here in the hood. I think that's pretty nice she's coming over here.

I'm sure she'll have fans and supporters here but who knows, may surprise some people, what the heck.

Big Daddy   November 5th, 2009 11:33 am ET

I wouldn't walk across the street to see or hear her !!

Whine Whine Whine   November 5th, 2009 11:32 am ET

Of course she is only going to smaller, conservative towns, she wouldn't want to go some where she could face oposition.

With out a doubt there are at least a few Palin fans in the bigger cities she isn't going to...I wonder how they feel about her ditching them?

Stacie   November 5th, 2009 11:32 am ET

I live in a large city...and I'm not disappointed. I guess she prefers to tour the "real America", ha, ha, ha!

rita   November 5th, 2009 11:32 am ET

Someone has advised her to go to places where they are still learning to read. Others have advised her to only go to "young earth creationist towns". Those would all be in Kansas and Texas. I would strongly suggest that she stay in Mississippi the entire time.

Ruty   November 5th, 2009 11:31 am ET

Only an uneducated idiot would go see this dumb nitwit. Why would anybody would want to waste money on a book about a quiter?

This may be the first time in literary history that the book-on-tape will out-sell the paperback. Unless the kin folk need kindling, I don't see much use for the book other than for display purposes, on the mantel next to the NASCAR commemorative plate set.
