Palin book tour takes unconventional path

Palin will bypass several major cities in her upcoming book tour.

Palin will bypass several major cities in her upcoming book tour.

(CNN) - Those living in the country's biggest cities who hope to catch a glimpse of Sarah Palin while she is on her much-anticipated book tour may be disappointed: the former Alaska governor will instead hit a string of mid-size cities, many of which voted for her and John McCain last November.

According to Harper Collins, the publisher of Palin's forthcoming memoir "Going Rogue," Palin will bypass several of the major cities that are often the pillars of any big book tour, including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, New York, and Philadelphia.

Palin's schedule instead takes the former Republican vice presidential candidate to smaller - and in many cases more conservative - cities like Fort Wayne, Indiana, Washington, Pennsylvania, Roanoke, Virginia, and Jacksonville, Florida.

Palin will kick off the tour in Grand Rapids, Michigan on November 18, one day after her book is released. The choice of Michigan to begin her cross-country blitz may be no accident: Palin publicly disagreed with the McCain campaign's decision to pull its resources out of that key battleground state a month before the election - one of the initial moves that led anonymous McCain operatives to declare Palin was "going rogue."

The first week of the tour will take Palin thorough Indiana (Fort Wayne and Noblesville), Ohio (Cincinnati and Columbus) New York (Rochester), Virginia (Roanoke), North Carolina (Fayetteville), Alabama (Birmingham), and Florida (Jacksonville, The Villages, and Orlando).

A spokeswoman for Harper Collins tells CNN more cities could be added to that list.

So here is an ex-VP candidate who lost, who was extremely underqualified for the position, resigned as Gov under repeated scandals, then writes a book thinking people actually care about her opinions – WRONG. The GOP needs to learn when to shut up but in this case, she appears to just be looking out for herself and that old mighty dollar.

I agree – let's stop covering sarah – if the small town papers want to cover her every move – fine. but as national news – we have other issues, a war – unemployment – things she knows nothing about. Also she is rather boring and a little shrill -in other words – not ready for prime time

How very Rogue-y and Maverick-y of her! Dodge the areas you don't like. Hopefully she will give some interesting interviews – although she seems to be dodging the potentially interesting ones too.

seems quitting governor was so that she could get her book out in time for the busy christmas season and go on tour, something she couldnt have done while being governor. Im guessing she tried, but someone with intelligence informed her of how bad that would look.

Crikey...are her supporters that blind, or just willfully intentionally ignorant?

So is Britney Spears. That doesn't mean she can sing, though. Have a nice day!

Palin is going to simi-follow her campaign path and it was a loosing venture. Good idea for her. The best path for her to follow would be to avoid the lower 48 all together. I am amazed that without brain matter this woman manages to get one foot infront of the other and it would blow my mind to learn she has taken the time to read her own book. I predict this book will be a certified flop.

I think she is actually so stupid that she doesn't get that McCain picked her only for her physical appearance.....Get a clue, Sarah.
Last night I watched an episode of "All in the Family". I believe it was called "First and Last Supper". It's hurts me to think that after 40 years of most of America rising to a higher level regarding racism, hatred, and other evils of the human spirit, that the Republicans who love this woman are still so ignorant and rasict. These stupid tea baggers who don't think Obama is a citizen and yet they would put this empty headed lady in charge of all of our lives......

She's really "going rogue" isn't she?
Let's keep our Sarah where she is most comfortable.
Isn't it hunting season in Alaska? Maybe she had to rush home to do some more aerial hunting of wolves.
She should have plenty of free time now that she quit her job as governor.

Sarah Palin will NEVER win a PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION in the United States of America. If she thinks writing a book will do the trick then she's making the biggest mistake in her life because CREDITABILITY COUNTS and Sarah Palin has none of that.

Wow!! Can CNN get any more liberal? I've been trying to post a comment on Obama or any of the liberals, but they close their comment section for liberals. So much for "most trusted name in news"

It's the best decision yet from her. No one is interested in her anyway. Maybe she'll be able to scrape up some interest in the smaller cities. Keep her away from NYC. Ignorance is not welcomed here!!!

    What is with CNN ?
Covering the Alaskan Air Head is beneath the threshold of "News".
She must have quite the publicist to get continual coverage the way she does.

There was an ad in yesterday's Arizona Republic for Palin's book. You could get the book for $4.56 with a subscription to some other magazine. Probably soldier of fortune. I would go listen to her on the book tour to record her speech and play it on you tube with my analysis. This one can speak for half an hour and not say anything of substance. Her speechs are nothing more than long strings of political buzzwords, more words that are supposed to indicate how much she loves America, and more words telling all how the problems of America were all caused by Liberals.

  21. all the news that's fit to omit

Must put out Palin story, when the liberals wake up around noon and their check is not in mailbox, they need to vent anger"............

This is a non-story that needs to be put out for the losers with PDS.

Al Gore runs around selling his lies and only goes on friendly shows and HE HAS BEEN CHALLENGED BY SCIENTISTS to debate his garbage and the coward has refused every time, EVERY TIME.

People that forgot more than he knows INCLUDING the founder of the Weather channel who uh, uh, uh knows about the subject called him a fraud, and the kissing coward ran like a frightened 6 year old.

How about him getting challenged AGAIN a few weeks ago and they cut off the guys mic?

That should RAISE some eyebrows, but my bad, he's a liberal and they do no wrong and their words are special.

She is a quitter. She is a narcissist. She willingly ran a socialist state that shared the profits of its natural resources with its citizens. Typically, neither she nor her fellow citizens realized that inconvenient truth. She claims to be a Christian but prayed with witch doctors. She wails for smaller government but eagerly spent earmarks on unnecessary projects. She's trained to be an announcer, sashay about in a swimsuit, and smile. If you find this appealing and will read her book, you deserve all the horse manure such hypocrisy and incompetence brings.
