Palin to keep low-profile on Wisconsin trip

Palin is keeping a low profile on her trip to Wisconsin Friday.

(CNN) - Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is set to deliver remarks at a Wisconsin Right to Life event Friday evening, one of the few speeches the former Republican vice presidential nominee will have given since she resigned the governorship last summer.

But Palin appears to be doing her best to keep a low profile on this trip: no press will be allowed into the Milwaukee auditorium where she will speak and those who have paid the $30 admittance fee are unable to carry in cell phones, cameras, laptops, or recording devices of any kind.

Wisconsin Democratic Party Chairman Mike Tate told the Wisconsin Radio Network he finds all these restrictions "bizarre."

"You know, for someone who claims to be a rogue and isn't afraid of what other people think it really is sort of hypocritical to not let the media, the press cover your event."

Meanwhile Wisconsin Republican Party Chairman Reince Priebus said he's excited Palin is coming to his state, but stressed the party has nothing to do with this event or its limitations.

Palin's speech comes a day after a new national poll suggests the former Alaska governor may face some obstacles should she decide to run for the White House. According to the new Gallup survey, only about one in three Americans would seriously consider casting their vote for her.

The speech also comes a week and half before Palin's highly-anticipated memoir "Going Rogue: An American Life" is released. The Alaska Republican will commence a national book tour soon after and sit down for high-profile interviews with Oprah Winfrey and Barbara Walters.

Palin wants to confiscate the cell phones of her supporters? It is a sad day when Palin doesn't trust her own supporters to keep their cell phone. Most people need to keep their cell phones on them in case an emergency.

Everything Sarah Palin does publicly is to cover up the obvious
fact that "there's no there there." She and her people know that
speaking extemporaneously exposes her ignorance, lack of knowledge and her butchering of the English language. So every event she participates in is about control. She plans to keep up this charade for 3 more years, seriously believing she can fool people into
making her a party leader. I still cannot believe John McCain did this
    to his country.

I do not understand this woman's agenda. She seems to have something to prove after her not so popular run for Vice President. I really believe that her political career is pretty much over.

I can't believe that even one in three voters would consider voting for Palin. She couldn't even handle being governor of Alaska....she quit.

It's hard to believe 1 in 3 would consider her to be their leader. Alaskans elected her, and she QUIT on them. You know what they say about when the going gets tough, the tough-what, run away?

Palin is not giving speeches because no one wants her. She thought there would be a great demand for her nonsense but that has not materialized.
Absolutely do not believe your poll that 1 in 3 Americans would consider voting for her. We are not that stupid!

former presidental nominee? not quite. But nonetheless, hopefully former and nominee are two words always attached to her.

"Bizarre" is good way to describe Palin, her action, and her philosophy on life, politics, and religion.

I'm not a Republican, but would advise that party to distance themselves from her if they want to achieve any success in the future.

Someone who is thinking about running for president is scared stiff that people might make a record of what she says. Absolutely amazing! Apparently being rogue means hiding.

Headline should be "Palin event not allowing pond scum liberals in with tape recorders" Its a private event, nothing wrong with that. If you want to know what she says then attend it you idiots.

The problem with Palin, is she is money hungry and wants attention so badly, she will say or do anything to get the media to put her on TV, in a magazine, etc. Otherwise she wouldn't have a job...

Palin is a great spokesperson for the extreme right. The Right To Life people have the same rights as the Chioce people do. However, there cause is very anti-women and thats the facts.

Once again the GOP shoots itself in the foot.

If she is so secretive about this event, maybe she souldn't be doing it. This woman is a wolf in a fake sheep outfit–when are people going to wise up?

Bizarre? I call this business as usual for her. In that kind of crowd, there won't be any critical assessment of what she says; only ooohs and aaaahs. The press and any opponents would ask questions and we all know how she does with answering questions. By the way, her replacement in AK, Gov Parnell, is doing a better than average job. Thanks Sarah for getting out of the way and letting competence back in the room.

Aw, she's just being all "mavricky". Actually, just more proof what a vindictive small person she is. She is carrying a Jr. High grudge for her opinion the media "attacked" her for not being able to answer simple questions (I mean really, "what magazines and periodicals do you read?" That's 'attacking'?) . Thank God this neocon diva nitwit was not elected. Poor trooper Wooten would have found himself being blackballed by the IRS, on no-fly lists, who knows what.

So take that, librul mainstream media! Nyahhhh!
