Palin will headline media dinner

Former Gov. Palin will headline an annual dinner with journalists in early December.

Former Gov. Palin will headline an annual dinner with journalists in early December.

Washington (CNN) - Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's sharp criticism of the media won't stop her from breaking bread with journalists next month at a dinner here in the nation's capital.

The 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee will be the GOP speaker at the Gridiron Club and Foundation's annual winter dinner, the organization announced Friday.

House Financial Services Committee Chairman Barney Frank, D-Massachusetts, will be the Democratic speaker at the Dec. 5 event.

Palin's appearance at the Gridiron dinner will come a few weeks after her new book, "Going Rogue: An American Life," goes on sale.

I absolutely LOVE how you KEEP SARAH PALIN's name in the news EVERY SINGLE DAY!!!! regardless of the subject matter, she is on your web page!!!!! (though MUCH more often than not, the report is a negative one...)

  5. because she is really a non factor in anything but tabloid news

I regard these postings by CNN to be CNN's equivalent of tabloid journalism

she will not amount to anymore than what she has done thus far, part of a term as an Alaskan govenor, she quit because it was 'unfair'

no one will EVER elect her to another office

when she is posted to these blogs, it is like the game at the carnival where you shoot the ducks

Will CBS' Katie Couric be attending? if so ,the mouse or the moose will be in HIDING throughout the evening. Sarah Palin is completely scared of Katie Couric especially when she said last year that she will have to get back to Katie with the answer to a question posted to her. I wonder if she ever did get the answer to the question. Sarah Palin -–a wolf all dressed up in sheep's clothing.

Sarah Palin = the Gop's own Ralph Nader. . . for pure entertainment value or amusing political hijinks- the gift that keeps on giving right in time for the holidays!

This woman was one of the main causes why the Republicans lost last November. Everyone knows that. She left her obligations to Alaska part way through with no rational and honest reasons why. Alaska has such a poor standard of living in most parts of the state so she should have stayed and tried to improve the conditions there, not jump ship. Right now her credentials include being a failed VP candidate and an ex short-term governor. Why do you give her so much coverage? She is not a credible national leader.

    This is just dumb! Palin

    – blames "the media" for every mistake she makes

    – can't speak an unscripted coherent English sentence

    – has contempt for anyone educated (and until she got her own book deal, for anyone who had "only" written a book)

    – couldn't, and probably STILL can't, name a single newspaper or magazine that she reads on a regular basis

I think the Gridiron Club & Foundation are just looking for some easy publicity. What a bunch of (rhymes with "swores")!

obama is a muppet for pelosi. and a socialist ignorant.
if you are a leftty why don't you move to china, or cuba and feel what is it to be a socialist.

Up to this point, there is no doubt that what for which Palin has been going after is NOT the country. She does not care about what kind of leader for whom the majority of American people who are smarter than Palin and her fans looking. All she cares, based on what going on, is that there are millions of her fans out there who will spend their money and time for her book and, of course, they are those who are excited by Palin’s attractiveness. There would be nothing wrong at all about what she has been doing if she were not using the theme ‘County First’ for making money, however.

It's funny that she is going on a book tour that mirrors her campaign path. Doesn't she realize that was a loosing route. She should listen to the people that sell the books and follow their path but then she is a Maverick. I hope she will stop in Minnesota and pick up Michelle Bachman so they can both go and jump off the same cliff together.

  20. The nazis had 'Mein Kampf', the wingnuts have 'Going Rogue

I think it is great that the GOP still has star power with their own Hollywood elitist in Sarah Palin. Every time I hear her, I think of Disney's cartoon, 'Steamboat Willie.'

There MUST be a speaking fee attached to this event! Sarah THE QUITTER Palin only accepts cash for her appearances. This wacko's 15 minutes worth of fame are about over. She will milk the right wing crazies for all the $$$$ she can...with her book, speeches, and interviews. If you got the dough, you have her attention! The GOP would be insane to give her the stage...or their nomination in 2012.

Sarah Palin is "a real patriot." Hmmmm.... let's see .... According to Palin, a "real patriot"

    – Quits her job when it gets tough (all those pesky ethics investigations) and/or boring

    – Lies through her teeth with a smirk and a wink

    – Takes a housing allowance from her State when she's living in her own home

    – Puts her family's travel expenses on the State's tab

    – Says she loves the United States, while supporting the Alaska Independence Party (secession was treason last time I checked)

    – Trots out her patriotic fervor when she's in New York at Ground Zero, but then ridicules NYC as not being "real America" when she's in more rural areas

While patriotism like that, who needs enemies?

with palin being the gop headliner and obama obviously being the democrats main man, it amazes me why 3rd parties arent thriving. i think the majority of people are aligned with a party is not because of their leading man or womans views, but rather how they view them. almost like a celebrity.

Liberals are tolerant – but not of people like Palin who quit, lie, mooch and in general, sow division, hatred and fear.

Silence only encourages people like Palin – so get used to the push-back and quit whining (must be a pre-requisite to be a Palin supporter).
