Palin will headline media dinner

Former Gov. Palin will headline an annual dinner with journalists in early December.
Former Gov. Palin will headline an annual dinner with journalists in early December.

Washington (CNN) - Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's sharp criticism of the media won't stop her from breaking bread with journalists next month at a dinner here in the nation's capital.

The 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee will be the GOP speaker at the Gridiron Club and Foundation's annual winter dinner, the organization announced Friday.

House Financial Services Committee Chairman Barney Frank, D-Massachusetts, will be the Democratic speaker at the Dec. 5 event.

Palin's appearance at the Gridiron dinner will come a few weeks after her new book, "Going Rogue: An American Life," goes on sale.

She's loaded down with money and free of the encumbrances of the Alaska Governorship......

    It's Sarah Palin/Liz Cheney in 2012.......

I'm sure she will make the GOP proud. After all, she is a polished speaker and one of the leaders of the party.

In the last election Palin threw the kitchen sink at Obama. Biden and Obama had so much info on Palin and McCain but didn't bother to bring it up. Next time they better. Todd doesn't even want his State of Alaska to be part of America. The list goes on and on. Obama has to push back next time and let the American people know everything on that nut.

You know what is sad......judging ones character, integrity, humility is not about a Right Winger, Republican, Liberal or Democratic. It is about the creditbility of a person and she is a very devisive and polorizing person in general. So, looking at her as a leader, I look at her ability to run a campaign, manage a state and mobilize all people in general. One should not critize the McCain campagn for her lack of knowledge and the ability to organize her thoughts when engaging the media. This should have been demonstrated a countless number of times as the Governor of Alaska. It would be a sad day in America history if we elected as our commander in chief, someone that had a horrible performance as a VP candidate and really wasn't that successful as a Governor. It's all about her substance, which is truly what she lacks....A great cover story for a magizine, but she is definitely not a leader...Ask the people in Iowa....

Well, one can see why she hates the media - after all, getting outdebated by Katie Couric isn't exactly something you wouldn't want on your headline reel.

This is a joke, right? She won't even allow the media to cover her Wisconsin gig, but they ask her to speak at their dinner. In my next life I want to come back as an air head with a pretty face, seems like that is what some folks really like.

Long Rider – hate to burst your bubble here, but we Dems aren't scared of her. And for your information, we don't follow her, CNN does. I have no ill will towards her, I just don't give a darn about her one way or the other. She's irrelevant in my world. And that forgetting more than most Dems will ever know. Seriously? Do you really believe Africa is a country? Just wondering.

Notice that she'll do speaking engagements - where she has a script written and no one can interrupt - but she won't sit down to be interviewed except in a tightly controlled situation by friendly questioners with the questions submitted in advance.

Someone might ask her a "gotcha" question, like, "What newspapers do you read."

Afternoon, fellow CNN Political Ticker Denizens.

Interesting comments from both sides of the argument. A couple of quick notes before I head over to Fox News to check other Saturday headlines.

    1. Based on research statistics, CNN is the home network for a majority of Democrats. Democrats claim to be the party of "tolerance" but yet come on to political boards/blogs spewing hate. For example "Snot Drips from the lip-sticked pig's mouth every time it opens." And Another, "Hope she eats with her mouth closed, unlike her Political Daddy George Bush The Son, who doesn't have the manners of a barn yard hog."

Tolerance, i beg to differ. Try love, not hate. Works every time.

    2. My final point. Gary from Oregon. If you're going to run for public office you might want to learn to spell. "Possative" is incorrect. Positive is the appropriate spelling.

May God Bless You All, and May God Bless This Wonderful Nation.
Keep all of our servicemen in your thoughts and prayers. It is through their sacrifice that we embrace the joys of freedom.

It's scheduled in Washington for now. As soon as they (team Palin) have a head count and the list of attendees, they will restrict and relocate the event to Boise, ID.

Though unsubstantiated at this time, rumor has it that Palin refused to "headline" this media dinner unless she was given a new wardrobe, allowed to take her children there and have them be on stage, allowed to fly in on Air Force 1, and guaranteed at least two (2) more stints on SNL. Ahhhh, Sarah, the best democracy money can buy!

Palin? Washed-up quitter who refers to her special needs child as "my retarded kid". Yes, sounds like a typical "conservative" Republican.

CNN, do you really wonder why your ratings are low?

Here's a question for all of you halfwits that support this know-nothing imbecile.........Would you all still be falling all over yourselves over this knitwit if she looked like Linda Tripp or maybe even Janet Reno?.......Take your time...........I don't mind waiting for an HONEST answer.

Well, the mainstream media ignored her nominating for the state attorney general position someone by the name of Wayne Anthony Ross whose lovely quotes range from “If a guy can’t rape his wife, who’s he gonna rape?” and “There wouldn’t be an issue with domestic violence if women would learn to keep their mouths shut.” Nice, huh? That Alaska leads the nation in rapes and incest shouldn't come as any surprise. Of course, any woman with a conscience would be berating Palin over her pick; then again, maybe they're just absent of that.

"If it bleeds it leads." So that's what our media is doing for excitement.. Somebody ought to look into her past stellar job performances as she continues carrying out her so-called "actual job responsibilities." It might help her to begin a real job climb trying to find somebody who would be dumb enough to hire her to work as a community organizer. It'd have to be a real set of separate short assignments, though. She might quit before she accomplished anything and leave everybody high and dry. A wink and a nod doesn't cut in any of the big leagues. Oops! Maybe she could qualify for a job in one of the bush leagues. AAA ball comes to mind (I mean after Pee Wee and Pop Warner). An actual living and breathing disgrace.

Now is the time where the lefties on this site begin bashing Gov. Palin. They will repeat baseless rumors about her children, and question her value system. All the while conveniently ignoring the fact that the Rep. Barney Frank is the democratic speaker at this event. He who was with his partner at their Maine home when the partner was arrested on marijuana charges. This was two years ago, and the media sees fit to tell us about it this week. The same Congressman that paid male prostitute Steve Gobie for sex, and then hired him as a congressional aide. The same congressman who wrote numerous letters on Congressional stationary on Gobie's behalf to Virginia probation officials. He only saw fit to fire Gobie when Gobie got caught seeing "clients" in Rep. Franks' home. Rep. Frank was blissfully unaware of this, of course.

Rep. Frank was censured only for using his congressional office to fix Gobie's 33 parking tickets. In the interest of full disclosure (and delicious irony), the effort to censure Rep. Frank was led by republican Larry Craig.

Where's the "Family" she missed so much... enough to QUIT being Governor.
This woman is truly in it for herself. Typical Repub.

These posts about her frightening the libs or others are just plain stupid. What concerns many is the fact that there are even any followers. That she even has any revelance. It's insulting to the many women who have achieved through dedication, intelligence and purpose. It's disturbing knowing that there are that many ignorant people in America. It's most certainly not scaring anyone. She's not that good, at anything, by any means.

You gotta love the far-left liberal loonies – they do more for Gov. Palin than Gov. Palin does! The only ones making fools of themselves is these far-left liberal loonies and the majority of the demon-crat party and the good ole' boys repubbies.

Well at least barney frank will make her look smart.

Barney is so stupid, when they raided his partners apartment while Barney was there, police found pot plants and bongs. Barney told the police he had no idea those were pot plants because he had never seen one before. And some of you folks vote for that loon.

Long Rider: Allow me to correct you. The proper word is "socialists", ok. Maybe you need some education. Go to a public school (you know that is socialims, right?) and get proper education. I suppose you don't know of anyone benefiting from Medicare (socialist program), Social Security (socialist program), police and fire department services (socialist services), etc. Sos un tonto.
