Palin will visit the Army base in early December.

WASHINGTON (CNN) – Sarah Palin will travel to the Fort Hood Army post in early December as part of her national book tour, Palin's publisher confirmed to CNN Friday.

The December 4 visit will come roughly one month after a mass shooting on the base that left 13 people dead and 38 wounded.

The stop, which had not been previously announced, is scheduled for the same day Palin signs books at a store in in the Dallas area.

The former Alaska governor is also making an appearance at Fort Bragg in North Carolina during her tour.

The visit was first reported by the Wall Street Journal.

    To 30 year Veteran:
If your definition of class is Palin, then you must have really distinguished yourself in your 30 years...not!
I am always amazed at the amount if vets who think this loose cannon and ignorant woman is the be-all, end-all for what our country needs. She would destroy, in a New York minute our total standing in the world and ignite a crisis without thinking, based on her own vindictive and too quick to anger disposition. If your idea of this leadership is classy, then you must have been some serious deadwood for those many long years...R.O.A.D. for a long time. Just as R.O.A.D. as she was as a governor. ROAD, for all non military means Retired On Active Duty, when you do nothing but take up sspace and collect a taxpayer's check.

Sounds like Palin is exploiting the Ft. Hood tragedy to gain publicity and sell books. Has she no shame or sense of decency?

I would hope she is not so stupid as she would use her anti Obama rhetoric, as he is the commander in chief.

Wow, why don't you tell us all how you really feel?
As for the "twisted liberal lies", just watch Ms. Palin in the never-ending repeats of her interviews while campaigning. 'Nuff said....
Seriously, she is looking for sympathetic showings at her book signings. That's why she forgoes Chicago, NYC & the larger venues. Her people can control the attendees much better...

All you Sarah haters: Regardless of the fodder you've been fed by the MSM. The military loves this woman. Why? Because she understands what it means to be a leader. She understands what sacrifice and committment mean. Things are current president don't even know exist. You will be seeing much, much more of her and she connects with REAL Americans who want to return this country to the principals it was founded on and not turn it into West Europe. Want socialism? Move! Want big government? Move to China. But we patriots want our country back and she's the kind of person to lead the way.

I neither like or dislike Palin, she is actually a non-issue. What I find interesting though is the infatuation that the Democrats and CNN have with her. Honestly, if you just ignore Palin, she will fall into her proper place in the news...nowhere.

I am sure the families of the servicepeople who tragically lost their lives at Fort Hood will take solace in the fact that this shameless bimbo will sell more books due to her visit.

She cheapens the dignity of our troops, and has no legitimate business at Fort Hood.

The headline that is above this article was posted yesterday but somehow CNN keeps making it the 1st headline so it would get more attention, Why? Ok, we got it McCain official who remains unnamed says what Palin said is not true. So what.

I am glad she is going at lesat she is not using it for photo-Op like the president.

CNN, isn't your dismal rating telling you something?

Believe me, service men and women would rather have Palin visit them then Obama.

And Sniffit....its Mrs., not Miss....and do YOU care to explain what you meant by saying "care to explain how Bush's administration allowed this to happen? "

You are proof that crack does not smoke itself.

I just hope for the everyone's sake that she has the good manners to keep her remarks focused on the personnel at Fort Hood and their families and off her own silly self.

The last thing they need is to have an opportunist politicize their tragedy. I'm very concerned that Palin will once again say or do something stupid in her efforts to further her "career".

Sarah Palin left the people she served in Alaska for one reason only. To make money for herself and to feed her ego. She is in it for the money, and the people of Alaska are better off without her. Unfortunately now the rest of us have to endure her rhetoric.

commenting on the previous Palin story....there is a big difference between $500,000 and $50,000. Why put a correction at the bottom and not correct the story? more like a gossip source than a new source.
