WASHINGTON (CNN) – Sarah Palin will travel to the Fort Hood Army post in early December as part of her national book tour, Palin's publisher confirmed to CNN Friday.
The December 4 visit will come roughly one month after a mass shooting on the base that left 13 people dead and 38 wounded.
The stop, which had not been previously announced, is scheduled for the same day Palin signs books at a store in in the Dallas area.
The former Alaska governor is also making an appearance at Fort Bragg in North Carolina during her tour.
The visit was first reported by the Wall Street Journal.

My Aunt Ethel is smarter and hotter than Sarah Palin. There's really not much there to envy, except that fact that she got to quit her job and mindless followers are taking care of her by buying her books and tickets to see her. Other than that, NOTHING! REALLY NOTHING!!!
I feel sorry for Fort Hood to have 2 tragedies hit it's campus in the same month. First that whack job Hasan goes on a rampage, and now that whack job Palin shoots a photo op to push her book.....is there no God or justice for these poor soldiers............

I find it sad that President Obama's meeting of military caskets upon their arrival at military bases was seen as a poor photo op by conservatives (as opposed to the tremendous sign of respect that it was), yet Sarah Palin is not only using the Fort Hood tragedy as a photo op, but she's also using it to sell books. You stay classy, GOP.
Palin is a quitter, a liar and a mooch.
She's only doing this because she's trying to portray herself as something more than she is. Her delusions are unbounded.
If I were at Fort Hood, I would feel so used – the only reason she is coming is to promote herself and her book.

I certainly hope she isn't allowed into Ft. Hood to promote her book. How tasteless just after their tragedy. If nothing else, her wanting to go to Ft. Hood now tells enough about the woman to entirely negate anything positive about her.
Maybe she can have photos of herself winking taken with the families of the deceased.
