Palin's book 'Going Rogue' releases on Tuesday.

Wasilla, Alaska (CNN) – At Pandemonium Booksellers, the Sarah Palin 2010 calendars are hot sellers, and since the election, the traffic in political books has been decidedly to the right.

"Glenn Beck outsells President Obama at the moment?" is our question as owner Shannon Cullip leads us on a tour of the bookstore.

"Oh yeah," she responds with a laugh. "Big time."

In the window, there is a small Wasilla Chamber of Commerce sticker and an image of the town's famous mayor-turned-governor-turned-GOP vice presidential nominee.

"Going Rogue" is shattering the presale record at Pandemonium Booksellers and reigniting the Palin political divide, even here in her hometown.

"It's either one extreme or the other, I would say," Cullip says of the bookstore's Palin conversations. "I would say people either completely, completely have her on a pedestal or don't like her. Not too much in the middle.

I guess it's true that looks are everything. If this imbecile looked like Rosie O'Donnell do you think CNN would hang on her every word?

Simmy   November 14th, 2009 3:22 pm ET

Still too funny.......

sueb   November 14th, 2009 3:21 pm ET

Sarah Palin is a breath of fresh air in all of this he said she said garbage thats taking place.  I can't wait to get my hands on her book!! PALIN 2012!!!!!!

GOP sucks!   November 14th, 2009 3:20 pm ET

Go Go Sarah I love you!!!

Jeremiah the Prophet   November 14th, 2009 3:14 pm ET

And the so called Christian Right Wing Conservatives who support this selfish ego maniac call themselves patriots?

Really?

Then I would love for one of these so called American patriots to explain how they love America so much, yet they support someone MARRIED to an individual who actively supported a movement aimed at separating a State (Alaska) from our Union?

jerseylou   November 14th, 2009 3:12 pm ET

I wish people would stop calling this four eye cross eye fool pretty. When she takes off her glasses you don't whether she is looking are talking to someone else. And stop saying she is a breath of fresh air. She is more like a giant stinking fart. And by the way why is it that a crazy person is always the last one to know that they are crazy ? Maybe McCain need to slap some sense into her and himself for picking her as his side kick.

Joseph Slagle   November 14th, 2009 3:11 pm ET

I think the lady from the bookstore needs to get out more. People are not buying her book for an in-depth look at Alaska's beloved Sarah Palin. Rather, they are buying the book to read more dirt and distortions. This woman has lost all credibility even with some of her faithful "Palin Bots" here in Alaska.

NadineCA   November 14th, 2009 3:10 pm ET

Why would Obama's book sell more in this GOP Sarah Palin loving store. The fact that his book is for sell in that environment is amazing in it self. These Glen Beck Palin loving idiots can keep 2010 calendars as a reminder of how brainwashed they really are. At least they admit theirs a huge amount of people up there who can't stand her too.

john j. grimes   November 14th, 2009 3:08 pm ET

"Not much in the middle" huh? Obviously this is in reference to what is between Palin's ears.

LL in Michigam   November 14th, 2009 2:39 pm ET

She comes across as not all that intelligent. I suspect that the book was written with her thoughts and not by her of course as so many other books often are.

I do not respect her for leaving office to write a book to make money. If she were to be elected to a hgher office someday and the opportunity was there to make some money, would she then again quit??? I think this will haunt her in the future. People are interested in her book, but I think that is about the extent of it.

Sam   November 14th, 2009 2:28 pm ET

The reason this book is a bestseller is because people like gossip, especially of the political kind.

Donna from Colorado Springs   November 14th, 2009 2:28 pm ET

Caribou Barbie has had her 15 minutes of fame, so she should just sit down, shut up and quit making dumb statements. Everybody knows how she likes to stretch the truth to serve her purposes, and there are more important problems in the world than her fued with McCain!

JJ-Orlando   November 14th, 2009 2:26 pm ET

It is amazing how things change. The republicans once stood for morality. Now they get support from the porn industry . No wonder they did not vote to support anti abortion.

Joe Smoe   November 14th, 2009 2:20 pm ET

Well Palin says don't trust the media reports about the selling of her book LOL
Most of the people buying these books Palins and Becks are probably not buying them for the read probably for a good laugh and in a few years read them again and laugh even harder HA HA HA .

Iquitarod   November 14th, 2009 2:12 pm ET

Sarah has become a parable of the manufactured hero, a paper political cut-out doll, a model that "success" is a matter of selling your "beliefs" to the highest bidder

Louise in NC   November 14th, 2009 2:12 pm ET

Palen reminds me of a grown-up CHILD BULLY, like the ones I met in elementary schol who were loud, obnoxious(sp)? and took her ball home if she could not be first!

normajean   November 14th, 2009 2:10 pm ET

Anyone who would choose to read "Beck" over Obama is someone who also reads comic books. You will get nothing of value, lots of lies and suppositions and maybe a few laughs from Beck. Those who chose to read Obama are people with a need for an intellectual read,a bit of history perhaps, insight into a thinking mans experience, hopes and plans for the future, but at least knowledge and substance. The difference between beer and a rare wine.

sandy   November 14th, 2009 2:06 pm ET

What they don't know yet is they are buying a comic book. I wouldn't believe anything this airhead says.

Carole   November 14th, 2009 1:52 pm ET

Palin's a lying whack job with an annoying voice who refuses to take any responsibility for any of her actions or verbal vitriol. For a supposed Christian, she sure is hypocritical.

I told you so   November 14th, 2009 1:40 pm ET

I don't hate nor love Palin. I think that the liberal media aimed to make her look really bad and not to be qualified to become the VP, despite the fact that she was Alaska's governor, however never question Obama's qualifications to be president which was the least qualified person to became president. BIG MISTAKE.

The only division is with liberals   November 14th, 2009 1:28 pm ET

Liberals can't stand an attractive, well-spoken conservative woman and nearly go mad trying to tear her down.

That's the liberal way. You know, tolerant and open-minded.

Liberals are pathetic!

Terry from West Texas   November 14th, 2009 1:25 pm ET

I wonder if Palin has read her autobiography yet.

ThinkAgain   November 14th, 2009 1:21 pm ET

Being a quitter, a liar and a mooch sells!

Connie, Indiana   November 14th, 2009 1:18 pm ET

well, duh, who would have thought...

Dixon   November 14th, 2009 1:16 pm ET

I guess going rogue is code for, "I never finish what I start". I am guessing someone else wrote the book for her. I felt bad for the way they brought her out during their campain. After a year of watching her I am not so concerned anymore. She is doing what she had planned. Make money at any cost like any good repub.

buckwheat   November 14th, 2009 1:14 pm ET

I am a Republican from the beginning and Conservative. Sarah Palin might sell a lot of books but she can never be elected to another office. She quit as governor of Alaska and she is not crooked enough to be an elected official and too pretty to get women votes. They aint nothing a woman hates more than being upstaged by another woman.

D. D.   November 14th, 2009 1:13 pm ET

I think it's funny she used the title that was written by the SNL for a skit. Sarah will always be tied to this comedy show. Certainly she does not expected to be taken seriously with this continual knot.

Obama Supporter   November 14th, 2009 1:11 pm ET

She has always reminded of a beauty pagent bimbo.

Rosebud   November 14th, 2009 1:03 pm ET

Disturbed and disturbing at the same time.

EveryDayJoe   November 14th, 2009 12:53 pm ET

Go Sara! Go!

The Left will go nuts! They so love to hate you. Sara in 2012!!!

Heavensdevil   November 14th, 2009 12:53 pm ET

Having been educated in the USA but returning to my native land, I must admit I do not 'get' this woman, or the seemingly endless fascination with her. Of course, I do not understand the same fascination with Paris Hilton that you Americans have!

I will read her book and this will probably put money into her coffers for whatever the future holds for her. (Not a problem for me.) However, unless the book highlights something the previous election coverage and subsequent news articles overlooked I will maintain my current position of supporting the international efforts of the current American administration.

The world needs leadership and much of the International community still looks to the USA at the moment. Perhaps, based on the Nobel committee a message was sent. We only hope it was received.

Brian   November 14th, 2009 12:49 pm ET

People aren't going to buy Sarah Palins books to read them, they are going to buy them to use as toilet paper.

B   November 14th, 2009 12:46 pm ET

She is the symbol of Extremism in this country and what helps drive divisiveness . Its great fuel for -news entertainment, but that is all..

Susan in NC   November 14th, 2009 12:44 pm ET

Ever read the dictionary definition of the word "rogue" - if not, you should - how appropriate to describe Silly Sarah!

you media devide....   November 14th, 2009 12:40 pm ET

Sarah Palin does not devide...some people are for her and some are
not...this is not Sarah's devide...The mdedia makes it so....so stop
mi\edia deviding people and country......!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tammy   November 14th, 2009 12:32 pm ET

those closest to her in her town really know her best, right?

Willy Brown   November 14th, 2009 12:28 pm ET

You Rock Sarah! Keep on providing facts; it’s like kryptonite to liberals and main stream media.

Matt   November 14th, 2009 12:27 pm ET

I'm stunned that Glenn Beck fans can even read. Or maybe they needed a cheap source of firewood and/or toilet paper....

REG in AZ   November 14th, 2009 12:23 pm ET

You want proof that The Republican Party currently could care less about the majority, only seeking to control public opinion with subterfuge, and are concentrated on serving Special Interests and a select few, then look at what they are doing with Sarah Palin. So much for Obama books and publicity, that would seem justified, but how about Palin's book and the aggressive marketing of her? You can find many faults with Sarah Palin; she is arrogant, self-centered, egotistic, grossly dishonest, can be pompous and obnoxious, and is literally sociopathic without any conscience, to name just an obvious few. What is more disturbing is that she is another, like George W Bush, 'puppet'; a puppet for Special Interests and the influential, powerful and wealthy few who will satisfy her desires while she does their bidding, just as Bush-Cheney did. Currently they are busy working on building her support within the Party and next they will aggressively focus on selling her to the public. If ever they are successful, we can literally be fearful of being stuck with 'more of the same' that got us into so much trouble. If they ever succeed with a ticket like Palin-Kyl, we really could end up thinking that maybe Bush-Cheney wasn't so bad.

Lou   November 14th, 2009 12:19 pm ET

I don't understand all this hoopla over Palin. She is small peanuts. She is a lightweight and will never be much of a politician if she chooses to go that way. She definitely will never be president. Just watching clips of her on Oprah makes me cringe. She is so phony and constantly reveals her lack of intelligence for all to see. I am so sick of this woman. Surely there are more interesting people out there?

Greg   November 14th, 2009 12:19 pm ET

Palin is a failure. Never finished anything she started, never did anything she claimed she did. Anyone believes she wrote that book???

Kate   November 14th, 2009 12:16 pm ET

In the dictionary (look it up yourself) "rogue" it means "dishonest or mischievous" boy I wonder if she even new what the word "rogue" meant before she named her book.........anyway it fits her perfect........."DISHONEST"

Neutralizer   November 14th, 2009 12:13 pm ET

Majority of the American people doesn't know what's in that Healthcare Reform Pelosi pushed to pass in Congress, but here's the law written in that bill which CNN never bother to report.

H.R. 3962 provides that an individual (or a husband and wife in the case of a joint return) who does not, at anytime during the taxable year, maintain acceptable health insurance coverage for himself or herself and each of his or her qualifying children is subject to an additional tax," the JCT letter stated.

"Prosecution is authorized under the Code for a variety of offenses. Depending on the level of noncompliance, the following penalties could apply to an individual" under these circumstances if the government determines the taxpayer's unpaid tax liability results from willful behavior, the JCT explained. It gave two examples when these penalties could be applied under the U.S. tax Code:

c "Section 7203 – misdemeanor willful failure to pay is punishable by a fine of up to $25,000 and/or imprisonment of up to one year.

c Section 7201 – felony willful evasion is punishable by a fine of up to $250,000 and/or imprisonment of up to five years," the JCT letter said.

The Congressional Budget Office says the lowest-cost nongroup family plan under the House bill would cost $15,000 in 2016 – a hefty sum for millions of middle income, mostly younger Americans and families whose budgets are stretched as it is.

from the middle   November 14th, 2009 12:09 pm ET

Everyone is curious about what a nut has to say. Even the sane people. It's entertainment. If Palin, Beck, etc spoke about reasonable things in an adult manner, the general public would be bored to death.

Carol   November 14th, 2009 12:03 pm ET

I'm a middle person, from the other states, and find Palin and company incrediably uncredible.

Independent   November 14th, 2009 12:01 pm ET

Starting tomorrow I'm going to count the times Sara is mention by CNN.....CNN you are becoming irrelevent as a worthy news source

Deuce   November 14th, 2009 11:58 am ET

The CNN Wolf-Pack strikes again!

Larry - Hazleton, pa   November 14th, 2009 11:54 am ET

She (PALIN) is a complete nut case. Does not deserve even the time it is taking me to type this.

j   November 14th, 2009 11:54 am ET

I think the American people should be VERY concerned. Can you imagine this group of people (i.e. Palin, Tea Party, Birthers) running the USA? They'll make George W. Bush look like a GREAT president by comparison.

W l Jones   November 14th, 2009 11:53 am ET

When you open the gate, she shut you out now you want to shut it but it two late. Go Ms. Sarah and show them you you your own Woman!

Roscoe Chait   November 14th, 2009 11:53 am ET

Hey Sarah! Beauty is fleeting, but stupid is forever, as you are clearly demonstrating. Read the "Portrait of Dorian Gray" for clues to what you will look like in a few years. Oh, I forgot. You only read magazines. All of them.

D Foster   November 14th, 2009 11:47 am ET

I cannot understand why anyone would listen to anything this idiot, Palin, has to say. Well, I guess that shows us a lot about the listener

virginia nielsen   November 14th, 2009 11:44 am ET

Only the right wings , the "real americans" , like her ... everybody else that has some brains consider her a Circus attraction !!!

Thomas   November 14th, 2009 11:44 am ET

No wonder she quit as governor !

PALIN: She says her team overseeing the development of a natural gas pipeline set up an open, competitive bidding process that allowed any company to compete for the right to build a 1,715-mile pipeline to bring natural gas from Alaska to the Lower 48.
THE FACTS: Palin characterized the pipeline deal the same way before an AP investigation found her team crafted terms that favored only a few independent pipeline companies and ultimately benefited a company with ties to her administration, TransCanada Corp. Despite promises and legal guidance not to talk directly with potential bidders during the process, Palin had meetings or phone calls with nearly every major candidate, including TransCanada.

the dude   November 14th, 2009 11:42 am ET

the book was written for one reason: to raise money. the more controversy...the more sales, the more money....

Truth-Bomb Thrower   November 14th, 2009 11:40 am ET

CNN, how hard did you have to search to find such a bad picture of Sarah Palin? Your bias is sooooooo obvious.

mjm   November 14th, 2009 11:38 am ET

Palin is not for everyone. She is a conservative, she appeals to people with conservative values. The social issues tend to divide the country a bit...that's never going to change.

Fiscal conservatives (that includes JFK and Bill Clinton...kind off) grow the economy. That's what we need.

Obama is not a Democrat, he's a tax and spend liberal (Socialist).

This country will never prosper with tax and spend liberals in charge.

Ed, Santa Fe, NM   November 14th, 2009 11:35 am ET

The Fact Checker that recently surfaced proved the "book" to be nothing but LIES.... what a surprise... like all the other GOP, Palin just makes up her own version of the "truth" and yaps brainlessly and relentlessly.

D. Tree   November 14th, 2009 11:28 am ET

Oh, believe me there are plenty of people "in the middle."

We don't show up to stores selling Palin's book because we simply could care less about her.
