(CNN) - While their fictional personas have teamed up on Saturday Night Live, Sarah Palin and Hilary Clinton have actually never met.
But the secretary of state said Sunday on NBC's Meet the Press she'd "look forward" to talking politics with Palin over coffee sometime soon.
Clinton was responding to an excerpt in Palin's forthcoming memoir in which the Alaska governor praises the then senator Clinton's 2008 presidential primary campaign effort.
"Should Secretary Clinton and I ever sit down over a cup of coffee, I know that we will fundamentally disagree on many issues," Palin writes in the new book called "Going Rogue: An American Life. "But my hat is off to her hard work on the 2008 campaign trail. A lot of her supporters think she proved what Margaret Thatcher proclaimed. 'If you want something said, ask a man. If you want something done, ask a woman.'"

I'd love to be a fly on the wall when that takes place! I'd love to see a woman as president, or even vice president soon, but not Sarah Palin.
The Republican party has some strong women who have the smarts, integrity and the strength to be contenders, but she's not one of them.
Is that Palin sit-down or smack-down?
bwahahahahha...would Clinton charge her for the "coffee meetings"?
This is a no win for the secretary.
Sarah Palin stands pale in comparison to the accomplishments of Secretary Clinton, regardless of how you feel about them personally.
'If you want something said, ask a man. If you want something done, ask a woman.'"
And this comes from a woman who's party slammed the Supreme court judge nominee for stating that being a minority that has given her different judgment than that of a white male.
So I guess this is "great" for her to say, but any other comment like it can be an issue for anyone else. Why does she continue to get a free pass when she hasn't done ANYTHING BUT QUIT??
I am fascinated by CNNs obsession with Sarah Palin. And you can betcha my comment will be moderated out as usual.
I can only think of two reasons why the fascination.
They feel Sarah is a front runner to run for a major office, and they want to continue the derogatory comments many of the posters here make about her.
Or, they know they are last in the ratings and this is the only was they can get 300 comments on a of the ticker topics.
Now to comment on the current Hillary / Sarah meeting. It will never happen. But if it did,,, can you say CATFIGHT!!!!!!!!
That would be funt o see, Hillary would kick Palins butt with her knowledge, but the Barricuda could wipe the floor with Hillary in a good all out brawl.
Make sure Sec. Clinton brings a picture book with her to explain what the is talking about...preferably a pop-up book to be safe.
Both of these woman would make far better presidents than the Ditherer in Chief that we currently have. I hope to someday see President Sarah Palin in the White House in 2013!
Hillary would eat her up alive.
This would be like Hillary Clinton talking to a plant, and not a very intelligent plant either.
Can you imagine what "Saturday Night Live" could do with this? .....Palin would be toast!
Please select Palin as the next presidential candidate. Make it easy for Obama to get reelected.
Sarah WISH she could be like Hillary!!!
The problem is: what she would have done, if elected president, is as bad as what Obama says he is going to do.
Oh please Sarah dear, you would be so far out of your element.
BOYCOTT Oprah today, PLEASE.
Hillary Clinton has more class and knowledge in her big toe than Sarah Palin could ever aspire to. What a waste of a cup of coffee.
Doesn't she have enough foreign despots to meet without going for domestic ones?
Yeeeeesssss....... SNL will be good again......
I think it might wind up being more than just a cup of coffee. I think Hillary would eat Sarah alive. Hope somebody records it.
Wow that would be news!
I saw Hilary's backhanded comment yesterday on Meet The Press, Clinton said she be hearing and reading all the excerpts of Palin's book and her publicity from hotels in Japan, China, etc while she is doing her JOB. Do you really think Palin new that quote, or even who Margaret Thatcher is? Doubt it seriously.
Let us bring back Draft so that we can shut up all war hawks of republican party.
They wanted to fight whole world on somebody else son and daughters.
I guess if Hillary doesn't mind talking to a third grader, or a brick wall, talking to Sarah Palin couldn't be any more taxing on her intellect. Actually, it might be frustrating. Us older folks have less patience than when we were young. Having no grandchildren yet, Hillary doesn't really know how to communicate with a third grade intellect yet.
Why is this world is there even any discussion about the Secretary of State, HRC, even considering sitting down with Sarah Palin, a common (and I use the term loosely) citizen, just like me and you? Perhaps she'll consider coming over to my house for a "sit-down coffee" as well. How ridiculous!
