Palin: 'I will forever question' Rev. Wright strategy

Palin's book will be released Tuesday.
Palin's book will be released Tuesday.

WASHINGTON (CNN) – Sarah Palin's new memoir, "Going Rogue," contains plenty of second-guessing about the way John McCain's presidential campaign was conducted.

But Palin writes that the campaign's biggest mistake may have been not making a greater issue out of Barack Obama's former pastor, Jeremiah Wright.

"I was told not to discuss Obama's pastor of twenty years, Jeremiah 'God Damn America' Wright," Palin writes in the book. "I will forever question the campaign for prohibiting discussion of such associations. All the more since these telltale signs of Obama's views, carefully concealed with centrist campaign-speak, have now been brought into light by his appointments and actions in office."

Though much of the book is devoted to re-hashing the internal squabbles that took place within the McCain campaign, it's clear Palin does not hold Obama in high regard.

Looking back at the first presidential debate in Oxford, Mississippi, Palin writes that Obama won - but only because reporters were smitten with the Democrat. Nine out of 10 reporters, to be specific.

"The debate went on as planned, and John did great," Palin writes. "The postgame analysis in the media, though, was that the coolheaded Obama had won the night, displaying a firm grasp of the facts, while John, they tried to convince voters, had seemed irritable and condescending. Granted, 90 percent of the newspeople covering the debate were liberal."

Silly Palin! You should've gone rogue then and bucked their censorship and questioned the Rev. Wright. You are such a diplomat and classy person that I am certain that any aspersions you casted on Obama or the Rev. would've been sublimely subtle. But then again, maybe your brain kicked in and you recalled ALL THE TRASH that the Obama camp would've promptly dug up on YOU. Maybe that's why, in an atypical Sarah moment, you decided to keep your mouth shut and follow instructions. How's that secession movement working out for ya'? And those perky little oil deals? And the Troopergate thing? And the bridge to nowhere? And.........

OMG this woman is STUPID. Just because the media disagrees does not mean it is a liberal conspiracy. How can it be so liberal when it let Bush Cheney off the hook for egregious law breaking, and spent 2 years examining and villifying every teeny wrinkle on Clinton's pee pee?

?????????????? Seriously woman – just be quiet. From a person who believes in a 6000 year old earth, you have no place to talk about another person's pastor!!! And what has been so left-wing about any of Mr. Obama's decisions? She's spews the rhetoric of the social conservatives without any examples or facts.

"It's always the fault of those pesky liberal reporters. Not me." , she says. How would she know. She can't remember what magazines and newspapers she reads and her television set is permanently locked on Fox News.

She might not be presidential material, but you must admire Palin for taking full advantage of her sudden and unlikely rise to fame. As long as people are willing to give her this magnitude of attention, she's intent on cashing in. That's being very smart in my book.

Palin is nasty as they come.

She tries to act as if butter wouldn't melt in her mouth.

I say try pouring some water on her and see how fast she melts.

I am an independent and am amazed at how quickly CNN is to sling mud at Sarah Palin in light of a book release. The woman has not said anything about running for office and here we are one year young into the current administration with the media worried about a conservative potential to the next election. Maybe we should focus on today.

I am so tired of that whiney "they were all liberals" line Sarah Palin uses. The woman is a dunce.
She needs to quit whining and just go take her big bucks from the book deal and go away.... please, just go away.
Surely the Republicans can find someone better than this moron to be speaking on their behalf.
I shudder to think how Sarah Palin would react in an emergency– the dolt couldn't even stand the pressure of the job in Alaska. The thought of her in charge of anything important just scares the sox off me.

Perhaps she didn't realize that it would only open the door for her own attendance with witch hunting ceremonies at her church.

It makes me question if you can trust her and the Republican party. If she really loved her country, she would reveal it during the campaign and drop out of the VP candidacy. A pity example of politicians who are just actors for the rich!! If you can't run or at least be part of a small campaign team, how would you run a whole nation?! Scary to think they'd be in the White House running the most powerful nation on earth. wow, what a nightmare!!! How low have come the republican party.

This is one of the most ignorant politician that I have ever seen. I am just amazed at how some one like this could have ever got elected to be a governor. Six years to get a degree in journalism speaks volumes about her intellectual capacity. That interview that she did with Katie Couric proved the former statement to be true.

Ah...Rev Wright. The hate filled, racist spiritual mentor of our president.

I wonder what LacrosseMom has to say about this guy….Got any Bible quotes for this?

Amazing that how people didn't seem to mind that Obama had this nut in his corner, yet somehow Mitt being a Mormon was an issue for people.

I'll take the Christian right over the hate filled religion of the left any day of the week.

What views of Reverend Wright are seen in President Obama's appointment and policies? What in God's name is this dumb woman talking about? She is full of hate and mischievous talk. The earlier this 'intellectually bankrupt' woman closes her mouth and goes back to Alaska, the better for other reasonable Republicans. I can't get why the media is so fascinated with this woman. For a national politician, she is mediocre and dumb.

She is exactly right about this... except for FOX, no one was talking about Obama's association with the fringe leftists... and when Obama finally had to deal with Wright, he made a speech about race and the media fell in love with him all over again! It was a disgusting display... while the media was tearing Sarah Palin a new one, Obama got a free pass and now we are paying (literally and figuratively) for their refusal to do their jobs and ask even one tough question of this guy!

She's hit the nail on the head with this one. Anyone who believes that Obama sat in this church for 20 years, calling him his mentor, plagiarizing Wrights' speech by using it for the name of his ghostwritten book Audacity of Hope, and didn't buy into his hatred of American and racism, is either lying, in total denial, or just plain, flat out stupid.

Maybe they were afraid this would lead to a discussion of Palin's extremist edge religous views and her Assembly of God Pentacostal belief in healing by prayer, etc. And lead to discussion of preachers in her own church and her own little sermonettes. In one she advocates that Alaska is destined to harbor refugess in the end-times. etc.

Maybe this is because the McCain campaign knew that the unaffiliated pacs would be targeting this issue and they could keep the mud off of their hands.

Maybe it'sbecause they knew they had not gained any traction from the issue and it was a waste of time since the voters they needed were more worried about the economy and Obama had skillfully dodged the issue to date.

But on no- Sarah knows best- so why did she put McCain on her ticket anyways?

All this Palin coverage is causing a state of ennui in many of your readers. Her book only validates the McCain staff's decision to limit her access to the news media.
