WASHINGTON (CNN) – Reporters won't be allowed to cover Sarah Palin's convocation speech at the College of the Ozarks in Missouri on December 2, according to the school.
Elizabeth Andrews, the college's communications director, called the decision "mutual."
"This was per the agreement that the College of the Ozarks had when had when we booked governor Palin for the convocation," she told CNN. "This didn't come from our end or theirs. It was a mutual consent kind of thing."
Andrews said the agreement is not unusual for the school, a Christian college in southern Missouri. She said past events with prominent speakers have also been closed to the press.
"This isn't the first time this has happened," she explained.
Free tickets were distributed when the appearance was first announced in November, but were quickly snatched up. Before the speech, Palin will be signing copies of "Going Rogue" in Springfield, Missouri, about an hour away from the college.

Can someone please tell me why Sarah Palin is supposed to be interesting? Why would the media want to cover her speech? Its not as if she's articulate or even has something to say that means something outside right wing nut circles.
Wow, someone invited her for a convocation???? What, Miss California was not available? Ahhh here comes the righties "all of you are afraid of her" nonsense. Well, yes, we might be. They have places called Mental Institutions for people like Sarah. I personally would like to see a competitive 2012 election race, so for the sake of your party Rethugs, choose Huck or Mitt please, otherwise it will be a blowout .............again. At least one of those two has half a chance of keeping it close.

What a hypocrite! Sarah (family values) Palin was apparently pregnant when she got married. She now rails about her christian values and how young people should practice abstinance rather than use birth control. It would seem she has first hand knowledge that abstinance doesn't work because it apparently didn't work in her life.
Does this air head thinks she can become President of the U.S. or have any major impact on the national scene without dealing with the press. She need to stop running, learn how to string a few sentences together, grap a geography book, revisit American history and historical international affairs, and face the music instead of acting like she has a single brain cell in her head.

What is Palin afraid of by not allowing the media in to hear her speak? Oh, that's right. They are all liberal and biased against her because they ask questions when they find something she said isn't correct. They do something sneaky like checking facts.
I find it very interesting that Sarah is around the media only when she thinks it is advantageous to her. If she is going to bash the President, then they are off limits. Sarah, you are so superificial even Levi can see through you.
If this person has true aspirations to hold public office again (even for a short time until a better money offer comes along) how can she expect to be taken seriously when she functions as a public figure who only operates behind closed doors? Someone has to explain to her that she can't have it both ways. If she is afraid of criticism and other viewpoints other than her own narrow ones, she does not belong in public life and perhaps should confine herself to appearing in cheesecake photos for running magazines for money.
