(CNN) - Sarah Palin helped the Republican Governors Association get a discount on "several thousand" copies of her new book so the group can use them as a fundraising tool, RGA chairman Haley Barbour said Tuesday.

Barbour, the governor of Mississippi, said Palin has been "very gracious as a former governor" and helped the group negotiate a bulk purchase price.

"We purchased them at a great discount, at the publisher's price, God bless her," Barbour said during a conference call with reporters ahead of the RGA's annual conference in Austin, Texas.

"I suspect we are going to raise a whole lot of money with this," Barbour predicted. "Hopefully we'll have to re-order."

Why re-order? There will be plenty for 25 cents at next years garage sales.

The real reason for Palin's book being #1 on Amazon along with the fact that it can be purchased for $9.95 at many stores!!

This move by Sarah Palin is a win-win for both parties. What a tremendously talented and charismatic leader she is. I only regret that she didn't have a better running mate in 2008. You can tell just how strong she really is by the pure out hatred and venom that the Dims spew at her every time her name is even remotely mentioned.
She has truly unmasked the NOW (National Organization of Women) as the NOLW (National Organization of Liberal Women). If Sarah Palin's husband was to beat her up, the NOW would line up to defend him and accuse her of asking for it.

The ones who really need it are the Democrats. They could learn something about the role of government in America. However, getting them a discount would cut down on one of their favorite activities; spending.

i don't come on this web site often, and after looking at the stories you have to offer, I know why. I AM NOTa fan of Palin, but i would take her over the thing thats in there now. Atleast she can talk without the press and the president making up about stories about what he meant! come on people look around you! where is your story about the fake jobs created by them? there is so much going on right now, and instead of covering the news, you once again try to push a point.

Well shut my mouth and paint the house red, slap the mother-law silly, kick the dog in the booty, shoot the t v and throw it out the window. Can somebody ask this fruit cake if she would like to hitch a ride on the shuttle that's going to the moon to look for some water. And when she gets there the robot that's digging for the water can relay a message to her,it was a oneway ticket and she can talk to it as long as she want to.

This is the most hilarious thing, that's funny.

Getting a discount, that's hilarious! And people wonder why they pick on her, that's just fu-nny!

I'll tell her if I want it for free! Forget a discount, what is it gonna teach me in that book? How she doesn't know the Bush Doctrine? Or better yet, how far is in fact Russia is from her house? :)

  18. They call me "tater salad"

I guess $4.95 a copy from Wal-Mart was to expensive. The Republicans will try any stupid trick to give us all the illusion that Sarah Palin's book made record setting sales.............And 20% still believe this crap??????......Seriously???????.........Too sad!

What if all the competing media sources would just omit Sarah Palin from their coverage, so as not to be outdone by other news sources. A lot of the news about Palin is not really critical news.

But I confess I would miss the entertainment that comes from this woman. It is not that we fear her, but she has a story that evolves of a woman who has little sense of how she comes off and little know-how of her ineptitudes for high level political leadership.

Maybe the GOP can get a discount on "Mein Kampf" as well, another divisive book by a right-wing lunatic whining about their oppression at the hands of the moderate political establishment. That should raise big bucks. Sarah can title her next book "Four and a Half Years (of Struggles) Against Lies, Stupidity and Cowardice.", which was the original title for "Mein Kampf".
