OFA fundraising off Palin book tour

Washington (CNN) - The Democratic Party's fundraising off of Sarah Palin's "dangerous" book tour.

"Right now, Sarah Palin is on a highly publicized, nationwide book tour, attacking President Obama and his plan for health reform at every turn," wrote Organizing for America director Mitch Stewart in a message sent to supporters Friday.

"It's dangerous. Remember, this is the person who coined the term 'Death Panels' - and opened the flood gates for months of false attacks by special interests and partisan extremists. Whatever lie comes next will be widely covered by the media, then constantly echoed by right-wing attack groups and others who are trying to defeat reform.

The group, the president's political arm at the Democratic National Committee, set a goal of raising $500,000 over the next week "to help push back against Sarah Palin and her allies." OFA said the contributions will be used to respond to those attacks via ads, events, and phone banking congressional offices.

I wonder when the democrats will realize that by attacking her they're just further helping her feed her hunger for attention. They should just ignore her instead!

I'm not sure Palin really cares about health care as much as it's a complex easily-misunderstood issue ("death panels!!") with which to attack Obama. As soon as she's VP she'll be helping Mitt Romney to engineer the next war, against Iran.

The GOP is just going to sit back and use Palin, she is doing their work to rally the base however, those old gray haired men will not let her take any lead as they know she is inconsistent and unhinged.

She is fooling herself to think that with a few hundred people showing up at book signings here and there around the country that she will be the leader of the party.

The Republican party elders have seen what happened with the McCain campaign, they are not going to trust that she can actually steer the ship because as to use her words" only dead fish go with the flow"

The "main stream media" just needs to stop covering her events.

I am not scared of her. I also doubt that any intelligent women or anyone else, for that matter, are jealous of her. We are just SICK of her. I wish the media would stop giving her so much publicity. I had respect for John McCain until he selected her as a running mate. Now I will not take anything he says seriously.

If you had read this article it isn't all about Democrats; it is about Palin being dangerous to the point that she would try to deny millions health care but when you are making millions of dollars on a gotcha book and trying to destroy Obama she shows that she doesn't care about the people just her egotistical self. I have said it repeatedly research. Just because the Republicans have used multiple scare tactics doesn't take away the fact that we have people dying from lack of care but then the Republicans have been the party of NO since day one on this administration.

Can not wait until Sarah Palin wins the 2012 election.

It will be a great sight as Obama waits for her on the doorsteps of the WH to hand over the reins to a more qualified person.

Just a joy to think about the first women President with the same ideals as the majority of the people in the United States.

The country will have someone who will work hard for the "EXTREMELY AVERAGE PERSON" and not a two tier system.

Ultimately, she was fade away. People like Palin do not have the best interest of the country on their minds, nor does she have the best interest of her family on her mind. Who is watching her son with Downs Syndrome and her other children why she galavants across the country? Go home, Sarah and take care of your family!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    You liberal whiners are hilarious.

Newsflash #1: Black Jesus is finished, and it all goes away for you clowns starting in November 2010. One and done.

Newsflash #2: You should have gotten behind Hillary last year, because Palin is going to bury your Messiah in 2012. You would have been better off with Clinton, but you blew it, as usual.

This woman is a reminder about the stupidity of the extreme right and it an opportune to remind America that despite the criticisms being leveraged against President Obama, the alternative is much, much worst.

I just want to know if Sarah's daughters, Willow and Piper, are in school or are they running around the country on the book tour? If so, Piper is probably sitting at the table with Mommy with her box of crayons wanting to sign the book, too!!

Palin is an audience hungry megalomaniac who will tell any outrageous lie to get attention. The Dems who are usually too afraid of the liberal label, have to come out swinging if they're going to stop the swiftboating of good legislation like health care reform.

She's a true republican;every time she opens her mouth ,out comes lies. She's only interested in herself. Maybe she can use the money from her book to get an education or at least treatment for her mental problems!!

I can't believe people would actually consider voting for someone who abandoned her state to "take care of her family", but then go and write a book and go on a book tour, and not spend any time with her family at all. If she became President and someone offered her a book deal, would she just pass us to the Vice President so that she could "spend time with her family" again?? She, and her followers who think that she would make even a half decent president, are ridiculous!

  17. Not Right or Left but Forward

Would the DNC or OFA or any organization have to spend a nickel of their money to refute this imbecile's "bought book" i.e paid ghost written, if CNN didn't spend their time putting a picture a day of her ontheir website? Do tehy have access to the Sarah Palin daily appointment calendar with a different photo for every day of they year, or what? GOT OVER HER . There are 100s of authors of better books than the one that she paid someone to write about her fairy tale concept of the last 18 months or whatever.

    1. There are better looking women out there to put photos up of, if your goal is to get men to read you tripe.

    2. There are smarter women on both sides of every single issue from geography to energy, to healthcare, to grocery shopping, so please choose one.

    3. There are 100s of more relevant women out there on either side of any issue in the news – please pick one or two and spare us your promotion of this imbecile.

    4. There are thousands of more interesting women out there – many of them also uneployed, who would love to have articles written about them. Please pick one or two.

The democrats are so concerned about Sarah Palin and her huge popularity. They should worry more about their own unpopularity .
