OFA fundraising off Palin book tour

Washington (CNN) - The Democratic Party's fundraising off of Sarah Palin's "dangerous" book tour.

"Right now, Sarah Palin is on a highly publicized, nationwide book tour, attacking President Obama and his plan for health reform at every turn," wrote Organizing for America director Mitch Stewart in a message sent to supporters Friday.

"It's dangerous. Remember, this is the person who coined the term 'Death Panels' - and opened the flood gates for months of false attacks by special interests and partisan extremists. Whatever lie comes next will be widely covered by the media, then constantly echoed by right-wing attack groups and others who are trying to defeat reform.

The group, the president's political arm at the Democratic National Committee, set a goal of raising $500,000 over the next week "to help push back against Sarah Palin and her allies." OFA said the contributions will be used to respond to those attacks via ads, events, and phone banking congressional offices.

When you only have one (right) wing to flap, you go in circles. The USA needs people who can move forward.

If the dimwit Dems are targeting Palin, they must be scared. If they weren't scared of her, she would not be on their radar.

I've added by Sarah Palin comment. By the way, why no political ticker on Sen Lugar's Wife Arrested for DUI and leaving the scene of an accident.

Yes, there's an article about John Kerry's daughter. But she's was under the legal limit and did not leave the scene of an accident.

Wait a minute Axelrod said that Obama doesn't pay Sarah any attention and all the Networks I watch CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS and NBC said she was a has been. What is going on? Why are they going after somebody that I see postings on here everyday saying she is irrelevant.

How can she possibly be in consideration to be the POTUS? I thought having a brain was one of the requirements of the office. Oops, I forgot, we had one almost as brainless as she is and look where it got us – Iraq, financial crisis, economic disaster, etc. President Obama has been in office less than a year and has more messes to clean up than diapers in a daycare. Does anyone remember that when GW took office our country had a $$$ surplus?

I am so happy that today, at last, I did not see any reporters or coverage from her latest stop in Palin's country. I would think that that idea in and of itself would upset Republicans. She accepts no one except those who believe exactly what she does, whatever that may be today. She calls liberals "elite" but she has set herself upon a pedestal, from which she issues edicts to her minions. She is not exactly a person who opens her arms to all ideas, is she?

You Americans are a funny bunch...what you all find so interesting about this woman is a mystery. Sounds like she just figured out how to make a small fortune on a book that she didn't even have to write...you all are eating it up whether you like it or not. Everyday it amazes me, with all that is happening, good and bad in our world, that CNN (losing credibilty as I write) continues to follow the uninteresting life of this crazy woman.

FYI...from where we were watching...the minute it was announced that she would be McCains' running mate, we all started celebrating Obamas' win.

The scary thing isn't Sarah Paling per se, it is who the Republicans will put in charge of looking after her and actually dictating policy. If ANYONE really believes the likes of Newt Gingrich and the rest are going to let this nutcase run the country they are even more ridiculous than we think. Trust me if Sarah were to somehow magically get elected you'd find another worm like DICK Cheney behind the scenes wringing his hands and plotting the demise of some defenseless country. I mean let's face it the Republicans picked Iraq because they knew it wouldn't be a fight. If there was a chance they could have had a fight on their hands they would have run and hid just like GWB and Cheney both did from serving in the Armed forces. Republicans talk a big game but in the end they are cowards and bullies only showing up if they know someone else will do their fighting for them.

They have to combat someone to dstract attention from the huge failure they elected as our current President. Palin would not be my choice as President but she or almost anyone would be a vast improvement over Obama – Rookie and Chief.

Palin is a train wreck...the more she opens her word-hole, the more the GOP/Conservative agenda takes a hit...keep 'em comin' Sarah!

The GOP has to distance itself from the fearmongers, hatemongers, and bigots that make up the voice of the Republican Party (and yes, this includes Rush, Hannitym and Beck) if it is to survive.

    GOP: Evolve or die

vjunior...you state "Palin has much more experience than Obama in the political arena"

Well, I am a long-time Alaskan and VERY familiar with Sarah's antics. She has almost "0" political experience and even less sense & education.

She was a mayor of a small (population 5000) town where she managed to increase debt in the budget, fire many people for no reason, and get her own home-building materials funded by the same contractor who got the contract for a sport center she wanted built. She left that position before she almost got recalled.

She was on the state's Oil & Gas Commission but quit before she got investigated on ethics complaints.

Her very short tenure as govenernor was a total failure. There is no natural gas pipeline; and if there ever will be it won't happen for 20 years. She's in bed with the oil industry.

People in our state were (are) going hungry and cold because Palin failed to acknowledge the problem.

After her vicious attacts and name calling during the vice-prez campaign she returned to a state who saw the real Palin and did not like it. All of the ethics complaints filed against her were based on sound reason. The ethics complaint investigation committee is appointed by the governor (dumb) and found cleared her.

She stepped down because she no longer had any support in this state. Most repubs were even turned off by her and no longer support her.

Most citizens are embarrassed by her behavior. She no longer speaks for Alaska & Alaskans! She is after something that is right now beyond her and will never be reached by her without extensive education, experience, and an open-minded attitude.

Someone who believes Africa is a country and that dinos roamed the earth in recent history is a total wack job.

Her middle-school attitute toward life demonstrates a 45-year-old woman who has never reached any level of maturity beyond 7th grade. When confronted with someone who does not share her opinion she goes into juvenile mode and begins name-calling and spiteful acts.
