WASHINGTON (CNN) - Democratic Sen. Mary Landrieu of Louisiana said Saturday she has decided to support a floor debate on the Senate's health care reform bill.
But she added a caveat on the floor of the Senate: "My vote today to move forward on this important debate should in no way be construed by the supporters of this current framework as an indication of how I might vote as this debate comes to an end.

"It is a vote to move forward to continue the good and essential and important and imperative work that is under way."
Sixty votes are needed to move the controversial bill to the floor for discussion. The legislative body is expected to vote Saturday night. The only senator who has not publicly announced how she will vote on the debate question is Blanche Lincoln of Arkansas.

If a Corporation pays 100 million dollars to a politician to get certain legislation that benefits them financially it is considered a crime. But if the head of the Senate, Harry Reid, pays 100 million dollars to Mary Landrieu for the financial benefit of her State to buy her vote, it is considered 'business as usual'. Why? Because it is business as usual and we allow it to happen. Stop the graft in Congress!
Sen. Mary Landrieu is Absolutely Right, place the Health bill on the Senate floor for debate.
If the Republican Party of NO, is able to obstruct passage of the National Health Bill, then voters next year can toss more Republicans out of public office.
Democratic Senators should not bend over nor erase any gains for meaningful health care insurance adjustment to satisfy a single Republican Health Insurance puppet.
Vote up or down, if it doesn't pass then more seriously target the Republican Party candidates in the next elections.

At least she's doing something right. I'll never forget Anderson Cooper's interview with her after Katrina. The woman is clueless, yet she won again. Maybe we need to stop voting in people we know are not only clueless, but who don't actually care about us. This woman has been the benefactor of government health care since she was a little girl, yet she doesn't believe the rest of us actually should be. What's that all about?

Thank you Senator Landrieu!! We are depending on your vote to help all Americans get access to healthcare and stop the abuses of the insurance companies.
Your state knows how insurance companies treat people when they need help after paying years of premiums. After Katrina, insurance companies deserted or cheated their clients and Louisiana had to file a class action suit to force the insurance companies to pay clients what they were due.
This healthcare bill will finally force the insurance companies to compete for our business, quit abusing us, lower prices and stop them from interfering with our doctor's treatment recommendations for us. This a bill for PEOPLE and a huge success in putting the gred-based insurance slimeballs in their place.
Republicans want no reform for Americans and are saying and doing anything to stop it. They are up to their usual lies and fear-mongering but we know these insurance company bribe-takers are only obstructionists and care about no one but themselves and other rich white people.
President Obama and the Democrats are the Party of the People and will deliver the healthcare reform we all desperately need. They listen to us, care about the issues in our lives, and are working to fix healthcare, give us more jobs and clean up the monster mess the Republicans created.

what annoys me about landreui is how she can acknowledge there is a healthcare crisis, but prefers to wait for the private sector to do the right thing. If they don't, then a trigger can occur. How much longer does she anticipate the uninsure to wait? The health insurance industry has not changed at all. In fact, the prices has increased. They have not decreased the price and I don't anticipate they will do the right thing. Why would they when they have 30% profits? The public option will force their hand to decrease prices in order to stay competitive. They won't listen any other way.

As others have said, if she expects to make any amendments to what she doesn't like she is out of luck because it takes 60 votes there as well.
