What can one say about Richard Steele a Republican who ran for office but had bumper stickers declaring him a Democrat.
Truthful and Honest, no way.

BigVic4   November 23rd, 2009 12:18 pm ET

"Waiter...waiter.....the soup is cold."

Rico   November 23rd, 2009 12:17 pm ET

he is slick. beats all other republicans. he should consider running for 2012.

smokey   November 23rd, 2009 12:12 pm ET

I think M Steele has quite a bit of nerve saying the Democrats are over-stepping their bounds..Funny, there was no complaint of this when the prev WH took us into 2 wars,. they we are not winning, and drove this country into almost the worse depression, since the great depression..When they had control of the WH for the 8 years,. this is all they have to show for it...What a shame ! And now we finally have a WH and Pres who is not afraid of change and putting this country back on the rigth road, and again all they can do is complain..No wonder they will be known especially now as the party of NO !!! AND COMPLAINERS...But guess what, they also never offer any solutions..Now isn't that just like them !!

Mike in Dallas   November 23rd, 2009 12:10 pm ET

What is the blue muppet's name with the bald head? This guy looks just like him. I think the muppet is smarter.

Texas Doc   November 23rd, 2009 12:07 pm ET

Kinda like they did with Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, the GI Bill, etc. Looks like Democrats are pretty good at seeing to the needs of all Americans as a matter of policy. Please enlighten us as to how you would help us other than saying No and planning Tea Parties.

Reagan was wrong   November 23rd, 2009 12:04 pm ET

The GOP is like a spoiled child who wrecks the living room and then nags and screams at you while you try to clean up his mess.

If the GOP in its current incarnation reclaims the house, the senate, or the presidency within the next 10 years, I'm moving to Canada. It's getting too hot down here anyway due to the global warming that these vile hatemongers continue to deny.

Aunt Bea and Opie   November 23rd, 2009 12:01 pm ET

This poor man has overstepped his ability at gaining sanity or logic, but we guess what hes making in payoffs for a couple of years service to the Corporate Fascists is more than what most Americans will make in their lifetimes.

not alone   November 23rd, 2009 12:00 pm ET

the fear machine in action, we all see how the RNC operates all fear and meanness but no plan for america other then give all the money to the rich and hope it trickles down to the poor(ya right we know it all went to china and india).

get'em Shaft   November 23rd, 2009 11:51 am ET

how about your shore up your own problems shaft

your party is in shambles and they have no solution/problem solving ability

no help, no ideas: you GOPers are intellectually bankrupt

C. Farrell, Houston, Tx   November 23rd, 2009 11:50 am ET

Michael Steele just insulted the American people when he said we don't know what we want in the healthcare bill. I've heard this more than once from Republicans who consider people who don't agree with them to be ignorant and yet they can call someone else arrogant.

Perspective   November 23rd, 2009 11:48 am ET

Nice CNN...post the same old RNC talking points/lies twice in a row. Fox News propaganda must be so proud.

Manfred   November 23rd, 2009 11:46 am ET

What a tool.

CommonSense09   November 23rd, 2009 11:46 am ET

What a liar! He didn't know that the republicans insurance covers abortions....how did he get elected? I see why the republican party is sinking to an all time low.....with people like Steele, Palin, Rush, Hannity, Beck great uncle Cheney and grandpa McCain, the word is WOW!!!!!

Bev   November 23rd, 2009 11:34 am ET

If I were the Republicans---I would already be campaigning/taking aim at the vulnerable Dems as well.

Based on all polls--60% of Independents do NOT want this health care disaster that they are trying to pass.

Based on all polls-–the Independents plan on voting for the Republicans in 2010 by 52% to 30%---you do NOT win elections without the Independents.

Based on all polls--–the MAJORITY in the country do NOT want this health care disaster, Cap and Tax energey bill, terrorists brought on US soil for civil trials, Gitmo closed, amnesty for illegals, etc.

Yet, what are the Democrats doing??? They are continuing to push all of the above down our throats.

There are at "least" 50 blue dog Dems in conservative districts up for reelection in 2010--–in districts that were won by McCain.

The Democrats are going to get clobbered in 2010!!!!

Ted from Calif.   November 23rd, 2009 11:31 am ET

Steele is a great example of Republican hypocricy. He complains that the Republicans have been shut out of the debate on healthcare when in fact the Republicans have removed themselves from the debate. They are just sitting back and sniping at the Democrats for not being bipartisan. Bipartisanship requires both sides to participate and compromise which the Republicans are not willing to do. It is their way or nothing. They seem to forget they lost the election and that they do not get to make the rules anymore. Steele also conveniently forgets how the Republicans ran Congress when they were in control. They didn't even try to be bipartisan.

It is time for the failed party of angry old white men and a few token blacks to become part of the solution instead of part of the problem.

L for Legend   November 23rd, 2009 11:30 am ET

The DNC ought to take aim at the rethugs, as the rethugs don't have a plan for a successful America.

Charlie in Maine   November 23rd, 2009 11:29 am ET

Not if they can get healthcare passed. Then they will be safe,

dwayne   November 23rd, 2009 11:29 am ET

Dems stay strong; you've got the moral highground. The republicans are trying to make sure the poor and helpless continue to hurt.

Scott, Tucson   November 23rd, 2009 11:28 am ET

We Americans need to oust any and all incumbents regardless of party.

Michael   November 23rd, 2009 11:24 am ET

This is sad the country need to put our differces a side and try to fix the mess Bush and his staff left us in. I've not heard one good ideal from the party of no yet.

John, Brooklyn, NY   November 23rd, 2009 11:23 am ET

This is standard playbook politics from the GOP these days...and its sad.

Instead of being the party of vision, innovation, and new ideas, the GOP is sinking deeper and deeper into the reputation of being the party of attacks, fear, obstruction, and mis-information. Frankly, its sad, considering the GOP has had such an incredible history to be proud of.

Political strategist generally agree...attack ads are a sign of a desperate campaign. Clearly the GOP is not as confident as it appears about their prospects in 2010.

CHARLES E MONELL   November 23rd, 2009 11:21 am ET

Michael Steele is so pathedic, I doubt he can even spell RNC.

j   November 23rd, 2009 11:19 am ET

what else would you expect him to say?

B   November 23rd, 2009 11:13 am ET

Steele is totally irrelevant as are the Republicans right now !

carlos, THAT one   November 23rd, 2009 11:08 am ET

let those criminal repugnants spend their money which they have stolen from the taxpayers.....remember the 8 billion dollars that went missing in iraq that J. paul bremmer said they couldn't find, now it is slowly trickling down to those amoral gophers

Dominican mama 4 Obama   November 23rd, 2009 11:07 am ET

The Democrats are NOT 'overstepping' their reach in healthcare, they are pushing through legislation to benefit their constituents. Never, in recent history have we had a constituency that is so involved and cognizant of governmental goings-on.

You'd think Michael Steele would be tried of being the poster boy for the Party of Screw the Country.

Peter s   November 23rd, 2009 11:02 am ET

Dems hit back and hard! bring back all the past deeds GOP

Dominican mama 4 Obama   November 23rd, 2009 11:01 am ET

The GOP remind me of a pack of hyenas going after the 'weakest' in the herd that they are hunting. The Dems would do well to 'circle the wagons' and stick together. Just like in the wild, there is strength in numbers.
