WASHINGTON (CNN) - Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh - the leader of the world's largest democracy - will make a noteworthy appearance at the White House Tuesday: the first official state visit of President Barack Obama's administration.

Obama and Singh are expected to touch on a range of issues affecting both countries in their discussions during the visit: counterterrorism, climate change, the Afghan war, Pakistan, economic recovery, and nuclear power and non-proliferation.

The visit comes amid India's always tense relationship with nuclear rival Pakistan, regional concerns over the fighting in Afghanistan, and the burgeoning trade relationship between the United States and India - a country of 1.2 billion people with a growing and influential diaspora in America.

"This is a very important relationship with a very important country that we have in the world," White House spokesman Robert Gibbs told reporters Monday. "That's why India was chosen to be the first visit."

No one cares about any of this. Yawn.

Have a nice trip Mr. Singh, and slam the door shut when you go back home.

keep your workers at home, you are doing us no favors

offering us cheap labor does not develop our own labor, it puts a lot of our workforce out of work in jobs that strenthen our hightech

our corporations only think short term, so I am asking you, keep your people at home and develop your own economy

Yeah, we just want to see if they have a few extra bucks they can lend us.

A diaspora usually denotes refugees that someday want to make their way back to the homeland, methinks most Indians are here by choice and want to assimilate into the American culture. Nice word, slightly incorrect usage.

Good call for the president. India represents over 1 billion people in that volatile region.

On another note, the republicans released their pro communist agenda yesterday in the name of Ronal Reagan, who according to their 10 principles, would not be supported by the new GOP, as he failed five of the principles.

This is BIG NEWS. India plays a key role in the stabilization of the region. I wonder will this visit and conversation between both leaders how it will affect Obama's decision on Afghanistan.

What of the Cruise Ship Platinum-II, smuggled from the San Francisco, USA full of toxic and hazardous waste, dumped in Alang, India this week illegally against all international law and policy? What of these issues, PM Singh and President Obama ?

Hey Obama,

While he's here, can you grow a spine and tell him that all of the H1B visas are being terminated? Maybe we can get some tech experts back to work if all the jobs aren't in Bombay anymore.

As an American citizen, I welcome Prime Minister Singh to our country and hope that he and President Obama have a productive meeting and both the United States and India come away with productive agreements and become economic, military and diplomatic partners. This relationship between both countries may bear fruit beneficial to both.

I have no doubt that President and Mrs. Obama will make us proud in hosting their first state dinner. They have brought back the popularity of 'romance' and 'loving couples'. I can't wait for the pics.
