From
Palin, Bachmann to headline Tea Party convention.
Palin, Bachmann to headline Tea Party convention.

(CNN) – Sarah Palin will be the main attraction at what's being billed as the "First National Tea Party Convention."

Tea Party Nation announced Wednesday that last year's Republican vice presidential candidate will serve as keynote speaker for the conference, scheduled to take place in Nashville, Tennessee February 4-6. A representative for Palin has confirmed the former Alaska governor's speaking role at the gathering.

The group also announced that Rep. Michele Bachmann will be speaking at the gathering as well. The Minnesota Republican has become a hero among many in the conservative movement. A representative for Bachmann confirms her speaking role.

The event could focus the political spotlight on both women. Bachmann has become a rising star, her ascent fueled in part by major support from Tea Party activists. For Palin - currently taking a brief Thanksgiving break from a national tour for her new book, "Going Rogue: An American Life" - serving as headliner at a tea party convention could increase speculation that she is weighing a run for the 2012 GOP presidential nomination.

Judson Phillips, a spokesman for Tea Party Nation, says the group is talking with other high-profile political leaders about possible convention roles, though he wouldn't name any names.

"(T)he convention is aimed at bringing the Tea Party Movement together from around the nation for the purpose of networking and supporting the movements' multiple organizations (sic) principle goals," according to a statement from the group.

Phillips says the conference will feature workshops, seminars, information centers, and organizational tools for leaders to take back to their respective local tea party organizations. He adds that the Republican Party is not coordinating or organizing with Tea Party Nation in any way.

Phillips says Tea Party Nation was launched in April, just before the first tea parties were held across the country on tax deadline day, and that the group held rallies in Nashville and in other parts of Tennessee on April 15. He added that Tea Party Nation also organized a smaller tea party event in early July, when a second round of events were held around the nation, but did not take part in the two cross-country tea party caravans held the past few months.

A spokesman for the Tea Party Express, which organized those two cross country tea party caravans, says they are not currently involved in the organization of the convention, but that they are supportive of the gathering's goals.

Tea for Two!

What a sad commentary that these two absolute wack jobs are keynoting anything.

jeff jackson, alabama   November 25th, 2009 2:53 pm ET

If these two women team up for the same ticket
in 2012, and they can both learn the capitols of all
the states, and the capitols and leaders of all the
countries in the world, and can give the correct
scientific answer to basic nuclear fusion questions,
and can discuss the philosophies of Socrates,
Marx, and Plato without hesitating to think, then
maybe.....just maybe.......the media will say they are
O.K. and they will be our next President and Vice
President of these here United States !!!!!!!!!!!
ROCK PALIN and ROLL BACHMANN !!!!!!!!!

They are gathering "for the purpose of networking and supporting the movements' multiple organizations (sic) principle goals," according to a statement from the group.

Let's see what innovative ideas are generated for confronting our national problems.

I'm not holding my breath: will probably be nothing more than a massive whine-fest with nothing positive to offer.

Ken   November 25th, 2009 2:51 pm ET

Sarah Palin, who fought ardently for the multi-million dollar boondoggle known as the "bridge to nowhere" until she got called out on it... is going to headline for a group of faux-conservatives who are supposedly outraged over over-taxation and wasteful spending now that Bush isn't president any more. A fraud to keynote for more frauds... seems appropriate to me.

Brian mesaAZ   November 25th, 2009 2:49 pm ET

This should really be interesting – NOT!

Having listened to these two and know they are the hero's of the "tea party" makes me want to stay as far away from the "tea party" as possible. The only good thing the "tea party" will accomplish is the break up the the republican party.

The republicans think they have a chance to take back the house – I think not. It did not work to welll in the 23rd district of NY.

Andrew R.   November 25th, 2009 2:49 pm ET

Sarah Palin is a joke, she has signed more books in 5 minutes then she has read in her entire life...and people think she is qualified to be President? She can't even spell "President" much less "conservatism" or "economics".

Terrific team. I may just have to go now. These two women are very important and influential going into the future of America. They are very brave to do what they are doing. Its a shame that in this day and age women have to be brave in order to serve their country as a civil servant. It says so much about our society.

Funny...

Isn't this the party of those who started to revolt against deficit spending at the very moment the country elected a Democratic President, but not during the last 8 years when a Republican was in the White House?

Right wingnuts are the darlings of dementia   November 25th, 2009 2:43 pm ET

And God bless our troops. Have a nice Thanksgiving!

usa99   November 25th, 2009 2:41 pm ET

Have you Palin haters seen the polls lately? Bad news for you. Palin is within 5-7 points of Obama in approval numbers. His numbers are in a free fall and her poll numbers are climbing. What does that mean for 2012 if she decides to run for Prez? You do the math. Should mean another historic election for the country...

is this news? I believe cnn made a mistake in the title. It is not the tea party convention, but the RNC conference. Didn't the RNC announce they don't want moderates, but only radicals according to the purity pledge?

haren   November 25th, 2009 2:38 pm ET

This president is building nation but it is our nation.
We will have Health care, financial regulation, energy policy, education and the most important USA's standing in the world.

He is mopping up the mess which two Bush and Reagan created and it will take a while before we can create a healthy consumer oriented economy instead of speculative economy of wall street.

Now republican started another issue about climate change and stupid fox news watchers believe that it is hoax, I would suggest them to subscribe National geographic magazine to get educated.

alix-ny   November 25th, 2009 2:38 pm ET

Mike   November 25th, 2009 2:34 pm ET

These people are loony - How quickly they forget that this major recession started under their leader George W. He started the major bank bailouts,TARP,auto, etc...Where were they for the last 8 years??? The right wingers are truly hypocrites!!!

Mike, Albany   November 25th, 2009 2:33 pm ET

well this is truly indicative of the dumbing down of America: Two of America's most ignorant, hate-filled, bile-spewing, dangerous women given prominent speaking slots at a convention whose sole agenda has nothing to do with the apparently bogus Republican campaign slogan "Country First". Consider this, together with doctored pictures of the First Lady and all of the other dangerous propaganda coming from the far right, and I see my country today as a source for nothing other than shame. Way to go, America!

emma zinkiewicz   November 25th, 2009 2:33 pm ET

Sarah Palin and Michele Bachman are two radical women with ego problems. They are in company of Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh. Angry People..... We all should send them to Iraq and fight our wars.

IndyVoter   November 25th, 2009 2:31 pm ET

Palin & Bachmann..what a pair? I'm sure they'll be there with shotguns in tow talking to the so-called "real" Americans.....so sad.
I'm actually starting to feel sorry for the Republican party....Nah!

susan   November 25th, 2009 2:30 pm ET

I'll bet Palin backs out at the last moment. I love to see these loons put themselves together. Then we can see how little of them there are!

mjm   November 25th, 2009 2:30 pm ET

Taxation without representation was only part of the Boston Tea Party.

England used taxes to punish the colonies for various acts.

Kind of like imposing surtax on Cadillac insurance plans, taxing cigarettes, Cap-and-Trade.

Democrats tax things they want to see go away....Like the rich.

That's also why the Pelosi and Reid bill will never work. They assume taxes will pay for it....if fewer people are paying the tax the program becomes unsustainable.

Good luck with that.

Donkey Party   November 25th, 2009 2:29 pm ET

Wow Nashville, you're so lucky! Will the "Dumb and Dumber" tour make it to my town too? Hard to imagine that with all the information resources available to people, there are still supporters of these two hate-filled political feather-weights. I did not serve my country for 5 years in the armed forces just to secure the right for these two liars to spew their nonsense and spearhead the dumbing-down of America. Wake up America, the world is watching, and our enemies are licking their chops beleiving that these types of "politicians" will lead our nation someday.

Mike in MN   November 25th, 2009 2:29 pm ET

The Tea Party movement will become the strongest political force in America. Stronger than either political party.
And Palin and Bachmann get it. These two women know what America is all about and what it means to be a real American. All those liberal progressives don't have a clue or have forgotten. These two women along with other true conservatives will be strong leaders in restoring American government to one that represents the people and not the political elite.

Happy Thanksgiving. No pardon for these two turkeys !

Beaver State Barker   November 25th, 2009 2:27 pm ET

Do these women realize how they are painting each other into a corner for nuts and screwballs? After a while, these so-called "teabaggers" are simply looking dreadfully stupid because these are constantly downplaying their own best interests. They malign government for stepping between themselves and their doctors all the while berating the government for possibly taking away their Medicare rights which is a benefit provided by government. The intellect which these women are appealing to are steadily dropping, the IQ equivalent to morons and less. As entertainment goes, it doesn't get any better but the eventual aspect of dealing with less-mindful people becomes all the more impacting! Perhaps there is a need for female carnival barkers because that may be their eventual end!

America has had it with liberlism and progressive policies, have to thank Obama for waking the people up, the one positive thing that has come from a such a bad decision of electing a super liberal President along with giving the power to the dems in both houses. Enjoy it while you can dems cuz it wont be much longer before the pink slips are being handed out.

convicted felon Martha Stewart says Palin is dangerous... HA just another stupid elitist with their head up their you know what.

thank God for traditional Americans like Bachmann and Palin and the others.

Dal CA   November 25th, 2009 2:21 pm ET

OK lets look at this.
Tea partiers want the reduction is taxation. I will say no taxes what will that do. The Federal and the state governments will have no income coming into their coffers. Smaller government is that possible. The other effect will be that there will be no monies available for the development of infrastructure of the country.
All the monies and development will be in the hands of the few. Lets look at Iraq contracts given bu the government. Most of them went to HALIBURTON. Who was working at Haliburton before he became Vice POTTUS.
Tea party organizers need to start to think and look deep into who will benefit from all their efforts. It is not the poor and the hungry or even the middle class. The benefits will be for the rich, who already know how to manipulate the taxation sysytem.

I'm sure that CNN will have commentary from Anderson Cooper about this event. Perhaps a few more snide remarks from Rick Sanchez would increase your organizations integrity quotient also. Perhaps you could have a half hour discussion on the word "teabaggers" with laughs and guffaws offered up also.

Mike in LR   November 25th, 2009 2:20 pm ET

Good. The conservative grass roots movement is growing day by day. The republican party sold us out on true conservative principles. The people rule in America, not the elitist D.C. crooks and criminals of the republican and democrat parties. You folks who blindly support either party are being hood-winked. They only have themselves in mind. Everyone who goes to D.C. somehow becomes very wealthy.......hmm wonder how that happens.

(sic) indeed.

Tell the Tea Partiers to ditch the Revolutionary gear and dress up like Native Americans if they really want to be authentic, the way the originals did – though it won't change the fact that the original Tea Partiers did what they did at serious expense to life and limb, whereas these folks are only running the risk (as my friend put it) of "managing to turn a lovely river into a nice Earl Grey".

However, that would only blunt the tip of a VERY large iceberg of historical ignorance, combined with flamboyant showboating that, in my opinion, keeps a great deal of people – me included – from wanting to take these folks seriously.

Women like Palin and Bachmann give serious and intelligent women a bad name....back in the days when it was thought that women had no place in politics or business men pointed to the emotional instability and supposed lesser intelligence of women as the reason why they shouldn't vote or work. Palin/Bachmann sounds like a terrific ticket for 2012. I can hardly wait , Sarah Palin is a superstar her new book is giving her rockstar status and millions are getting some hope that this current disaster can be stopped .If I were liberal or a rino representitive i would be very afraid for my political future.because the tea party people will turn the community organizing back on them for their voting pattern and put new people in who just want some common sense in Washington. Can't happen soon eneogh !

Susan   November 25th, 2009 2:04 pm ET

I understand that she is a celebrity but do they really want to hitch the wagon to someone, who while I am sure is a lovely person, does not have the background, knowledge or experience to lead this country. Maybe a talk show, but not the leader of the free world. A communications, talking head, degree does not make you educated enough to understand the law. Maybe if she stopped driving around in her bus she could go to law school. That would help.

MDubya - Dallas, tX   November 25th, 2009 2:01 pm ET

They realize that these women are both cartoons, right? These are probably the two most mocked women in America and they want them to represent their group?!?!? I think it is a real disservice to the smart women in politics – from either party – that these two women get as much attention as they do.

These two belong together on a stage, as in dumb and dumber. I will be so glad when I don't have to listen to either one (I turn off any tv station that broadcast them). Where is their common sense, and what are they doing to solve America's problems – nowhere, and nothing. A sad day for women when these two grab headlines. Surely the press could cover some women with a cogent thought – one who can articulate those thoughts. Clinton and M. Obama come to mine.

All I can do is voice my concerns about these politicians to associates (like on this blog), and vote in the booth. But those efforts will be resoundingly against these two women who do NOT represent my views. They scare me with their dogmatic, uninformed/ignorant/close-minded, idiocy. They both have a secret agenda! Palin's is to be famous, rich and popular, Bachmann's is just to be rich and support her cronies. Yuck yuck yuck.

I feel my brain cells being destroyed! Why do people keep thinking they are telling the truth? They are politician being paid by big companies to mislead the public and the sad thing is that some people believe in what they are saying. All they are doing is taking a small bit of truth and twisting in lies. No wonder our country is digressing instead of progressing!

Edwin   November 25th, 2009 1:48 pm ET

I was just struck with a thought about the title of Palin's book: Going Rogue...

Since a rogue is someone shady who is by definition deceitful and unreliable, why would ANYONE seeking higher office use such a title for their book? It might sell well, but it can't add to her credibility.

Marie MD   November 25th, 2009 1:39 pm ET

OMG! Just when you thought these two women could be put to rest here they come again. Are they going to allow the press to hear their shrill hateful voices or are they going to deny the rest of us "real" Americans to listen to them. Is bachman now going to be another poster child for the AKIP?
BTW quitter, just so that you know that SNL was making a joke out of you. Rogue = crook, villain, rascal, bad character, scoundrel, thug, lawbreaker, then again . . . . . maybe you do know what it means and how well it fits you!

marcia   November 25th, 2009 1:39 pm ET

Now,here are two very scary women!

Sooze from Kona   November 25th, 2009 1:38 pm ET

Oh Dumb and Dumber?

Palin' around   November 25th, 2009 1:37 pm ET

A pair of whack jobs joining together to encourage a crowd that wants to restore America to democracy and freedom of speech.

I guess they fail to understand that Obama was fairly elected by a sizable majority of American voters.

These folks actually prefer anarchy and shouting down those who wish to speak and discuss issues.

Michelle   November 25th, 2009 1:37 pm ET

Oh goody. Two crazy women in one place. Although, if Meg Stapleton hasn't approved it, Palin will be a no-show again. These two are the most abrasive, self-serving, narcissistic people I have ever seen, and Republicans LIKE them? Because they lie, or because they are both somewhat attractive? It cannot be because either one speaks intelligently of things they have researched.

Realistic   November 25th, 2009 1:37 pm ET

Great to see that another radical sub party has become part of the Republican "Purist" party. Now part of the republican party, the hard core fringe elements that has taken over, will subject any candiate to a "Purity" test . A purity test, how scary has the conservative party become to subject any candiate to a purity test. And I wonder who will determine who is and who is not. Seems familiar to another party of long ago that only "Accepted" what they determined to be pure.

S M R   November 25th, 2009 1:36 pm ET

Can you imagine what the world thinks of this crew? LOL

Liz   November 25th, 2009 1:36 pm ET

What a fascinating line up so far. What could these two possibly have to say that 1st of all, makes any sense and 2nd-WHO CARES!

Terry from West Texas   November 25th, 2009 1:36 pm ET

The lame leading the blind.

Jim   November 25th, 2009 1:36 pm ET

Two of the most intolerant hate filled people on the planet, period!

S M R   November 25th, 2009 1:35 pm ET

Average I.Q.: 30

MN voter   November 25th, 2009 1:35 pm ET

What in the world kind of tea are they drinking?

mjr   November 25th, 2009 1:34 pm ET

Oh Boy, A party of two ignoramuses spouting their ideology. Let's hope these two run in 2012. The Dems will win by a land-slide

Frank Pitz   November 25th, 2009 1:34 pm ET

Oh, gosh, Sarah & Michelle together on the same stage; the tea-bags will be delirious...orgasmic even. Now, that's a pair I wouldn't draw to.

mom2boys   November 25th, 2009 1:33 pm ET

To call Bachmann a rising star is highly amusing....Go ahead, I would love to see a Palin/Bachmann 2012 bid....it would ensure Obama a landslide victory for re-election. Rising star....I can't stop laughing!!!

E. Zman   November 25th, 2009 1:33 pm ET

Yay. So this will split the republican party into moderates and conservatives and the RNC taking funding away from those that don't 100% follow the party line will provide the necessary wedge for the democrats to squeak through the midterm elections. If you are a Republican and you care about your party and USA, then you need to say no to these divisive fringe groups because it shows too many easy targets for the Democrats to exploit.

ThinkAgain   November 25th, 2009 1:32 pm ET

What role models for women – NOT!

Palin = Quitter, liar, mooch
Bachman = Crazy, liar, hateful

They're both mean-spirited, egocentric and self-righteous because they claim to be "Christian," using their faith as an excuse for all their bad behavior.

If I were a Republican parent with daughters, I'd run for the hills!

Jim   November 25th, 2009 1:31 pm ET

I can sympathize with the basic ideas behind the Tea Parties because as a libertarian/anarchist I definitely believe that the government taxes and spends too much. However, show me 100 tea partiers and I’ll show you 90 people who said nothing about Bush’s $1 trillion and counting folly in Iraq. The simple hard truth that conservatives must accept is that we will never bring down the size of the state until we reign in excessive military and defense spending.

ThinkAgain   November 25th, 2009 1:30 pm ET

Note to Tea Baggers: Don't hold your breath that Palin will actually show up. She's got a track record of going with the gig that will give her the most publicity.

If something better comes along for her Feb 4-6, you're toast!

Rush Limburger   November 25th, 2009 1:30 pm ET

Their will be a summit between the RNC and Tea Bag Nation after Republican gains in Congress. It will fail to prevent a third party. The GOP is being pulled into an anti-intellectual black hole from which there is no escape.

K   November 25th, 2009 1:29 pm ET

This is a beautiful thing, I love it dearly........

To have two of the most out of touch with reality personalitys of the Republican party speaking at an event for a segment of our society that is reviled nation wide is great for the Democrats.......

I sure hope they open up with "Joe the Plumber".....

I am a white american, and I must say these people have bought SHAME and Dishonor upon the white race, they are no doubt in the minority of a growing diverse nation, and thank god for that.....!

Chris ~ Albany, NY   November 25th, 2009 1:29 pm ET

That's awesome! To Republicans, Conservatives, Right Wingers...whatever you call yourselves these days I gotta news flash for ya. YOU CAN'T WIN WITH 35% OF THE VOTE! Palin's as smart as my sister's 3 years old and Bachmann is absolutely crazy...I really wonder about the people of Minnesota every time I hear her speak about anything.

ThinkAgain   November 25th, 2009 1:29 pm ET

Sounds like a third party in the making ... lead by two empty-headed, deluded, mean-spirited pretty faces who don't know jack about anything.

People following these two nutjobs deserve all the ridicule they most certainly will get.

djb   November 25th, 2009 1:28 pm ET

can we please please keep the spin and lies to a minimum when there?? and please try to be the good christian woman you keep insisting that you are sarah.

m jeff   November 25th, 2009 1:27 pm ET

What a waste of time and money, more teabaggers gathering.

Mike   November 25th, 2009 1:27 pm ET

This is truly a dream-ticket... for the opposition.

Sgt. USMC   November 25th, 2009 1:27 pm ET

What a bunch of idiots. palin and bachman are a couple of airheads with decent looks. If this is your future repugs then you might as well throw in the towel. A pretty face will get you on the front cover but it won't fix the nation's problems.

OBAMA 2012

Peejay   November 25th, 2009 1:25 pm ET

I hope the Mad Hatter will be there, just to keep things a little sane.

gary   November 25th, 2009 1:25 pm ET

CNN you have got to be kidding.

Lynda/Minnesota   November 25th, 2009 1:24 pm ET

Ought to be a rip roaring event...will they be using Palin's tour bus to bus the tea baggers to the convention, I wonder? You know, the bus with the bigger than life image of Palin's face plastered on the side, for all to see... way too all american, joe sixpack, hockey mom for my taste...

I've given up watching local news, evening news, cable news, and now it looks as if I might as well give up .com news as well. It's all become nothing but junk, consumed with fear mongering, name calling, Jerry Springer trash.

Dex Houston TX   November 25th, 2009 1:24 pm ET

Never again will I use the phrase "dumb blonde" not as long as these two idiots dominate the media.

Republicans is smart in the head area   November 25th, 2009 1:22 pm ET

Dumb and Dumber...

Tim   November 25th, 2009 1:20 pm ET

The left wing loons have smoke pouring out of their heads and are twitching uncontrollably.

I hear Chris Matthews was seen walking down the halls of MSNBC drooling and stopping to shake his leg every third step, in an apparent effort to get the tingle back.

Emma   November 25th, 2009 1:19 pm ET

The two of them and their crowd will no doubt have a rabble-raising event with much effort to undermine legislators who see the vision for America differently than they do. The outcome? They will still be a
minority group who make people wonder if they have screws loose.

Vermonter   November 25th, 2009 1:19 pm ET

Ah...CNN can you not go one day without Palin on your ticker? Do you have Romney or Huckebee everyday?

Len in Washington   November 25th, 2009 1:17 pm ET

Can this get any more comical?

"The Dynamic Dunce Duo."

KathyC in MInnesota   November 25th, 2009 1:17 pm ET

It has become apparent that Michele Bachmann does not represent the constituency in Minnesota's 6th Congressional District, but the interests of the National Republican Party instead. Bachmann has failed to serve the people over her personal ambitions. She has become an embrassment to Minnesota with her insane actions and words.

Which is why it is important to support Minnesota State Senator Tarryl Clark, the Democratic candidate in the 6th CD. This is going to be a race that will be on the National radar for months to come.

chuck   November 25th, 2009 1:17 pm ET

These subcultures are highly amusing.

aware   November 25th, 2009 1:16 pm ET

Bravo! America is more than ready for authentic Pro-America change! :)

Dan   November 25th, 2009 1:16 pm ET

Oh god. Do we really have to keep hearing about these two whackjobs? Have fun at your tea party with all the rest of "real America".

Duck Fallas   November 25th, 2009 1:16 pm ET

This is a dream come true.

Beyond absurd   November 25th, 2009 1:15 pm ET

It is difficult to think of two bigger pinheads in American public life, which makes it all the more appropriate that they are the poster girls for the teabaggers. Do you realize how silly you all look with your pointless demonstrations of idiocy while America's problems go unsolved? It will never be 1955 again,so get over it. Why not volunteer all the extra time you have and become one of the "thousand points of light" rather than be one of the thousand pointless and self righteous.

Perusing-through   November 25th, 2009 1:13 pm ET

OMG! IF THIS BUILDS, IT WILL GUARANTEE OBAMA A 2012 WIN!

Picture this, the Tea Party continues to grow and eventually compete with the Republican Party for wing-nut votes. Eventually, the Tea Party will split from the Republican Party, thereby ensuring the Democrats control of the White House and Congress until both wing-nut parties iron out their differences.
.

Josh   November 25th, 2009 1:13 pm ET

I think that being against more taxation and more government spending is the smart stance, and our congress should be held accountable for wasting the money they take from us.

That said, it is a shame to see this idea hijacked by morons Palin et al. and transformed into an ultra right-wing nutjob mobile stupidity festival.

Responsible spending is good. Responsible taxation is good. Right wing propaganda spread around the country by idiots is bad.

I believe firmly in a balance of power in congress so that the majority party has strong opposition, but I really, REALLY hope that they Republicans get annihilated in the next election cycle. Maybe then they will learn and I can rejoin the party.

Ben in Texas   November 25th, 2009 1:12 pm ET

So, is this where the schism happens? Will the next 3rd party movement be the Tea Party, headed by Palin, Bachmann, Limbaugh, Beck, Hannity, and Dobbs?

This is the most exciting news I've heard in awhile! Split off the uber-whackos from the GOP, drive any remaining moderates to the Democrats, and bring the GOP to its knees!

That would be such poetic justice for what the Repugnants have done to my country.

Mark from Nevada   November 25th, 2009 1:11 pm ET

Well that should work out well. Two of the most clueless people in politics today as headliners. Should make the moderates out there turn left.

Steve, New York City   November 25th, 2009 1:11 pm ET

My goodness – what will "tweedle dee and tweedle dumb" say this time? Maybe they want to bring back segregation?

Bob   November 25th, 2009 1:11 pm ET

An irrelevant talking head for a irrelevant splinter group, fitting.

JP   November 25th, 2009 1:10 pm ET

These people are crazy! Make mine herbal please!

Denny   November 25th, 2009 1:10 pm ET

Excellent! Perhaps they can join together and run for the White House in 2012. Dumb and dumber.

Willow   November 25th, 2009 1:10 pm ET

Oh Boy, "Dumb and Dumber-Part II"

Thomas   November 25th, 2009 1:08 pm ET

I think a Bachmann/Palin ticket would be a great idea.

I hope the RNC considers it. It will so so much for their image with the Amercian people. Be just the thing to solidify the GoP.

BaRock Says   November 25th, 2009 1:08 pm ET

ahh, now the in-mates are truly running the asylum. when will the people see that these ladies do not care about them or their cause. this whole tea party foolishness is one mass mind warp!

Henry Miller, Libertarian   November 25th, 2009 1:07 pm ET

Palin/Bachman '12?

Bachman/Palin '12?

Either would be fun to watch...

Joe, Georgia   November 25th, 2009 1:06 pm ET

I hope they can also get Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity as speakers. That would place five dangerous demagogues on the stage in front of a group of fruits, flakes and nuts. Free speech protected by the Constitution is one of our great freedoms, but the Framers didn't envision the modern media that allows people who spew uniformed, divisive and dangerous rhetoric to gain a following.

David   November 25th, 2009 1:06 pm ET

The Bimbo Party!

Enough   November 25th, 2009 1:05 pm ET

Keep it going..........we support the TEA parties. Stop the bankrupting of America.

Tania   November 25th, 2009 1:05 pm ET

So these guys should leave the Repub. Party to revive with decent people, and form their Teabaggers Party - all the whackos together

Reagan was wrong   November 25th, 2009 1:05 pm ET

This thing should be renamed MoronCon 2009

Florida Joe   November 25th, 2009 1:04 pm ET

Palin/Bachmann two of a kind to be a full house............Can these folks get any dumber????????????

Party Purity will never bring Political Power!   November 25th, 2009 1:04 pm ET

Once the doors are closed what would the chances be of getting 3 doctors to indicate the entire room was full of lunatics?

Just "conning" you cons, these two are my favorite girls!

Palin/Bachmann 2012!

lorraine   November 25th, 2009 1:03 pm ET

I am so fed of seeing Sarah Palin's name and face, she is a joke and the American people should really take the time to listen to the dumb remarks she makes, to me she seems like a person who got a compliment on something she did and it went right to her head and she figures oh Boy I am brilliant and can really do everything better, Sarah come back to the real world, go be a hockey mom, look after the kids and grandkids and leave the politicking to those who have the brains to take care of things, if she figured Katie Curic to be a tough interview, wait till she meets up with someone like Hillary who will have her head spinning and her mouth tongue tied as she tries to come up with some mumble jumble that doesn't make sense.

B Lewis in Austin   November 25th, 2009 1:02 pm ET

What a pair. They may be able to rile up the base, but where is the intellect, where is the accomplishments? What do they have to offer but the same old GOP talking points and preaching fear and hatred? If this is the best the GOP has to offer, the Dems are in pretty good shape in upcoming elections.

Silas Scarborough   November 25th, 2009 1:02 pm ET

Considering their capabilities, I hope their only roles will be as servers. With these ladies and Lou Dobbs running for President, the next race should be hilarious! It's odd that none of them cared about taxation without representation while Bush spent money like a drunken cheerleader but so it goes.

once upon a horse   November 25th, 2009 1:01 pm ET

Palin/Bachmann 2012 with Joe the Plumber as Sec of State! Now THAT'S a ticket the GOP can win with.

a health economist   November 25th, 2009 1:01 pm ET

I wonder what inaccurate footage FOX News will splice into the reports on this. If it does happen hopefully it will be reported by more than just The Daily Show.

hongli   November 25th, 2009 12:58 pm ET

Two " IDIOTS" will be on display. Is that all you have?

Pepou   November 25th, 2009 12:58 pm ET

It's Thanksgiving so it's appropriate that these two turkeys would team up.

Amazing   November 25th, 2009 12:57 pm ET

Glad to see this movement continue......we the TAX payers are pissed off at how these politicians are wasting OUR money.

Dutch/Bad Newz, VA   November 25th, 2009 12:57 pm ET

The two most divisive politicians in politics. Those two idiots deserve each other.

Steph   November 25th, 2009 12:56 pm ET

So glad I'm gonna have to miss this party. Too much screechy lying for this gal.

annie s   November 25th, 2009 12:56 pm ET

Well, of course they will. People who have no clue as to what's really going on in this country – and who has the right ideas to fix it – deserve one another.

Randolph Carter, I'm no expert but....   November 25th, 2009 12:55 pm ET

"He adds that the Republican Party is not coordinating or organizing with Tea Party Nation in any way."

It would be interested to see who is financing all of this, but we'll never know because investigative journalism is dead. Have a nice day!

rosanne cohn   November 25th, 2009 12:55 pm ET

now there's a combo!!! BAchmann and Palin - enough to give some of us permanent heartburn!!!! I have to admit to being one of those persons who think - if you have nothing valid to say, keep your mouth shut. That certainly applies to both these persons!!!!
rosanne cohn

Come on 2010!   November 25th, 2009 12:54 pm ET

What an EVENT! I love seeing America coming back together.

While they're partying at the White House with unemployment above 10%, the conservatives are rolling up their sleeves and uniting to find ways to fix America.

The democrats need to party it up while they can. Their days are numbered.

Can you imagine if Bush golfed as much as obama, or had nearly as many parties as obama has had. The CNN headlines would DEFINITELY have a different tone!

Aunt Bea and Opie   November 25th, 2009 12:53 pm ET

Wow,something to lift the image of women everywhere, two of the most stupid people ever to run for any kind of office.

Randolph Carter, I'm no expert but....   November 25th, 2009 12:53 pm ET

In a related story, moderate republicans were most emphatically not invited. Have a nice day!

P.S. Ayn Rand was an idiot.

windrider   November 25th, 2009 12:52 pm ET

Well, you know that Bachmann will show up. With Sarah, you just never know if she will or if she'll cancel at the last minute.

Jake   November 25th, 2009 12:51 pm ET

and she has the nerve to warn America about "socialism" and terrorism?

she is leading down a far more dangerous path! just ridiculous!
