Hoffman officially trains his sights on 2010

(CNN) - The battle for NY-23 is over. The battle for NY-23 has just begun.

After conceding the congressional race to Democrat Bill Owens for the second time in the district’s special congressional election, Doug Hoffman has announced the launch of his 2010 campaign for the seat.

“So where to now? Full speed ahead to 2010,” the 2009 Conservative Party nominee told supporters in a message posted on his campaign’s Web site. “Although I’m conceding an election today, I do it with the certainty that we will win back this seat a year from now.”

His team’s 2009 campaign experience “will make us stronger and more competitive in the future,” said Hoffman. “Next time we will be better prepared.”

Hoffman – whose insurgent campaign helped drive Republican Dede Scozzafava from the race – had rescinded his concession last week amid new vote counts that showed a narrowing vote gap between himself and Owens, and allegations that software problems in some voting machines and other vote counting issues could have affected the outcome of the race.

Maybe carpetbagger and teabagger Hoffman should move into the district. At least we know he will comply with the communist principles of the party that is republican in name only.

Hoffman proves that you do not have to be smart to run as a wingnut.

Voters need to wake up and realize the radical religious right are trying to take over, control our country. We cannot let that happen.
In addition, so many who hide behind the Bible are malicious,
unttrustworthy people, inciting hate, anger, unrest in our country
while spewing lies, fear mongering and throwing away all
    integrity and honor.
The republicans are well on their way to becoming our countries
    most dangerous domestic terrorists.

With 2 years to go, I would think the reactionary wing of the party would have enough time to come up with a candidate who at least has half a brain.

The last thing America needs is one more Conservative blocking progress, gumming up the works, lying, accusing the President of the United States of lying to his face in Congress, putting the profits of every global corporation above the wages of every American working man and woman, indifferent to child health and welfare, indifferent to the national debt, indifferent to the balance of trade deficit, indifferent to the budget deficit, spending money like water, borrowing money from China like there is no tomorrow, cutting taxes on the wealthiest citizens and cancelling benefits for the poorest, wearing a thousand dollar suit, lying about global warming, lying about "death panels," lying about their interest in the middle class, lying to us about the society they want to build, and explaining to us that they are against the "Washington insiders."

If this nation gets much more Conservatism, it may cease to exist.

Since it does not matter if he lives in the district, he should run for congress from "The Villages" in Florida, where the Tea Party candidate cannot lose.

Didn't anyone notice during the last election that this guy wasn't very smart? He could barely put a sentence together. I guess being bad at the English language is a requirement for joining the right wing.

He looks like a Baptist pastor, and has views like Palin , Rush Limbaugh, Glen Beck, etc.

He another radical conservative nutjob. As such, he should be opposed by all moderate and liberal Americans and any Americans who don't want the USA to turn into a nation run by Republican right-wing radical Christian extremists.

If he's serious about winning this seat in '010 there's a particular female political operative he'd be wise to distance himself from!!

Any chance he had of prevailing in the '09 election evaporated the instant he recieved Sarah Palins endorsement if you believe the exit polls of independent voters.

78% of swing voters gave Palins endorsement of Hoffman as one of the reasons they voted for Owens.

    Once stupid....twice a fool!!!!

I doubt that it was a coincidence that voting machines were faulty at the wrong moment to deny Hoffman his victory. Too many of the liberal enemy are out there running around. To lose in an area that should have been his was unlikely. Tampering is probable. Hoffman got screwed. Getting that extra liberal vote for pelosi's health care bomb was too important not to try and steal it. This kind of problem is not going to go away. It is going to turn up more and more. liberal elites will see to it. But the voting public are wising up to what the leftists are all about and will likely never again give the left a shot at power in the U.S.

Although ACORN had nothing to do with the NY23 race, it is typical of a wingnut to blame them when they lose. Of course, Extreme Media also suggests you use the word, "socialism" and other names, as that will solidify the true wingnut base.

Give it up Doug. I live in NY 23 and you knew Nothing about our concerns and didn't care to. You lost-better figure out why-and get a new plan.

  20. Party Purity will never bring Political Power!

You cannot "rescind" a concession, moron! Not even if Beck say so.

Of course, that assumes one has integrity and we are discussing a conservative who apparently does not believe his "word is his bond".

You folks in NY-23 will get what you deserve should you vote for this con in 2010.

    Hoffman will win the seat.

He was a complete unknown until 2 weeks before the election.

Yet, he only lost by about 3000 votes!!

Owens lied when he was campaigning. He said that he did not support the health care disaster that the Dems are trying to shove down our throats.

Then, when Owens was elected, he immediately voted in favor of the health care disaster.

Owens is just keeping the seat warm for Hoffman-–until Hoffman can take it from him in 2010!!!

Good for him! Next time he runs, he can claim he has experience – he's already conceded the position twice! If he's elected, he can quit and run around the country claiming to be serving a higher calling like his mental – I mean mentor...
