Pres. Obama cheers on brother-in-law at basketball game

(CNN)– President Obama took his family on an outing Saturday to the Oregon State-George Washington University basketball game in support of First Lady Michelle Obama's brother Craig Robinson.

Robinson, who coaches the Oregon State Beavers, was cheered on by the President, who snacked on popcorn, joined by the first lady, Sasha, Malia and the girls’ grandmother Marian Robinson.

Having a coach who’s also the president's brother-in-law meant another perk: according to the Beavers website, the team had the opportunity to tour the White House on Friday.

"I wanted the guys to experience all of the history surrounding one of the most recognizable buildings in the world," coach Robinson said, according to the website. "It was a special experience and one I hope these guys will never forget."

I can understand the popcorn, but cannibalism is never appropriate.

Oregon vs Oregon State for the Rose Bowl - Oregon State plays for the President - it's a good year for Oregon sports.

Whew! Thank goodness he was watching some hoop instead of wasting time on Afghanistan or the economy. It's so exciting to think Obama is now in competition for the Naismith Award to go with his Nobel Peace prize, up coming Heisman, Oscar, and upon making the decision regarding troops to Afghanistan, the Congressional Medal of Honor.

If you look at the scope of the articles here and the careful crafting of such, it is totally evident now that CNN is a disgustingly arrogant anti-American entity.

At least these guys got into thw White House legally. No shame on the SS. These guys will really appreciate their invitation and remember it for all the right reasons, unlike the last two uninvited dimwits who should answer to laws of your country. Don't let them make a dime off of their crime. That would hurt more than jail time.

I know he's a busy guy, which can make for a hefty appetite, but snacking on your family? That's taking it too far!

"...cheered on by the President, who snacked on popcorn, the First Lady, Sasha, Malia and the girls’ grandmother Marian Robinson."

Sounds like something a Republican senator would be caught doing!

Its great that the President is willing to support his brother in law. I am sure it motivated Oregon State to win the game. But then again, some of the players might have been nervous with the President watching.

Perhaps a change in phrasing could be used for "Robinson, who coaches the Oregon State Beavers, was cheered on by the President, who snacked on popcorn, the First Lady, Sasha, Malia and the girls’ grandmother Marian Robinson" ? It makes it sound like the President is snacking on his wife, his kids, and his mother-in-law.

Can't wait to hear all the self-loathing whining and complaining from the Righties. It could be raining gold, the world could be at peace, hunger ended, cures found for all ailments, intelligent life found outside our solar system, etc, etc, and the Neo-Con racist hate-mongers would still say President Obama colluded with Satan. No matter what he says or does, there will always be an idiot waiting in the wings (the right wing) to spew their hate, negativism, and obstructionism.

Apparently the President was ravenously hungry! If you read the sentence as it is written, it is apparent that in addition to popcorn, the President also snacked on several family members as well.

This is just a ploy to distract those with short attention spans away from the health care bill that will destroy the medical services industry here in the US. Pay no attention to this sham. They got their 15 minutes of fame as a reward for distracting the mainstream media CNN included from the real danger facing the US, called CONGRESS.
