Apparently the President was ravenously hungry! If you read the sentence as it is written, it is apparent that in addition to popcorn, the President also snacked on several family members as well.

But he couldn't visit our troops in Afghanistan! He wants to tax WE THE PEOPLE more while he jetsets his family to and fro!

Perhaps a change in phrasing could be used for "Robinson, who coaches the Oregon State Beavers, was cheered on by the President, who snacked on popcorn, the First Lady, Sasha, Malia and the girls’ grandmother Marian Robinson" ? It makes it sound like the President is snacking on his wife, his kids, and his mother-in-law.

Good stuff. This a man who knows how to be a President.
