Washington (CNN) - The White House is "geared up to go on offense" on health care messaging this week, a White House official tells CNN.
As the Senate debate over health care reform gets underway, the administration is planning to "push back on the distortions and misinformation... being circulated by interest groups and opponents." The new offensive includes a video featuring Vice President Joe Biden and the presidents of the American Nurses Association and the American Association of Family Physicians.

The video comes as White House Communications Director Dan Pfeiffer continued his string of tough November blog posts slamming opponents of President Obama's proposal with a holiday weekend salvo taking on one Washington Post columnist - with the White House pledging more of the same to come.

This White House and their attempts to control my life and steal my money have always been offensive to me. Why is their no tort reform (it is because the trial lawyers are big democratic supporters, so no tort reform, even though it would save a half $500 billion dollars over the 10 year period) and why is there no removal of barriers to selling health insurance across state lines? This bill is all about giving these socialists control of our lives. Obama, one and done.

I do not believe this bill is in the best interest of the American people. Why should we pass a bill where Politicians and Lobbyists determine what care and practices you receive instead of your actual doctors. If the care you need isn't on the checklist determined by these politicians and lobbyists, then your doctor cannot give you that care. You will miss out on different treatment options.

Only 20% of doctors are members of the AMA and only 18% of them support this healthcare.....70% of Americans DO NOT support this healthcare and people such Obama, Biden, Pelsoi and Reid support this healthcare. Obama and the Dems are once again going after the wrong target when it comes to health care reform. it is NOT about the middleman (the insurance companies), it is all about the cost of the underlying care. Instead of meddling with the insurance companies, the government should simply regulate health care costs – much like Japan has. otherwise, the cost of health care will not go down; we will merely shuffle paper to decise who is paying for it....

According to Senator Lugar, we need to postpone debate on Health Care Reform. Haven't the "do-nothings" of both parties been doing that since National Health Care was first proposed by President THEODORE Roosevelt? You would think that after over 100 years, they would finally get the courage to discuss this issue!
Healthcare reform has been so watered down at this point, I don't even see the point. What we need is single payer like every other developed country on the planet. I trust doctors and nurses. And the VAST MAJORITY of doctors and nurses hate Obamacare. The AMA represents less then 20% of doctors, and lost of the docs i know are withdrawing their membership over the AMA's "endorsement" of Obamacare.

We don't need President Obama to be offensive or defensive or use regular politics. The American people want basic healthcare reform, namely lower drug prices, elimination of pre-existing exculsions and malpractice reform. The people do NOT want more taxes, or government/public options, or government panels. Overall people want abortion legal but not government funded. We do not want to tax the hardest working people to give free healthcare to lazy people.....keep it simple and we can pass basic healthcare reform that everyone will like. If the Dems get overly aggressive or pass an overly liberal bill then independents like me will vote Republican. Like I said it is simple!

If I was a medical doctor or a nurse I would be right next to Joe saying the same thing. Of course they love it...they are the ones getting paid by the government, not the ones paying the government's bill. This bill does nothing to lower the cost of treatment or care. It just makes sure there are more paying customers and who wouldn't love that in their job?
The problem with the Democratic health care proposals from both the house and the senate is that they are too expensive for America and they only raise the cost of health care. That's the main problem right now and they don't fix it!

There is no doubt in my mind that the Senate will not pass this mess with 60 votes. They will invoke the nuclear option and pass it with 51. Then when they are turned out of office for that, it can be rescinded before the major damage is done.

Before the government runs off and creates yet another entitlement program maybe they should consider fixing all the major problems with the programs that already exist. Prove that there is fraud, waste, and abuse. Then fix it and move on to fixing something else.

I have a question, we start paying on the insurance right away, but don't get insurance for a couple of years from the plan, so do we pay for the new one and the old one we have at the same time? The Congress can pass this law, given the mood in the country regarding the Federal Gov't, I don't think the people are gonna obey it. So they can pass whatever they want, we are just not gonna do it. And this is the beginning of the political revolution that is sweeping the country.

50% plus of the American population doesn't want a public option take-over. And that's exactly what a public option would become - The Feds taking over health care. Why? Simple - if the feds offer a public option, who else could compete? Sure, they say the public option would be ONE option and that people would still be able to choose their own health plans if they want to, but what they fail to mention is the Feds would set all the prices. If they have that much control over health care, all others would not be able to compete, sending quality health care as we know it down the drain. All of the quality insurance plans, like those in Minnesota, would drown. The entire health care industry would be thrown on its back and quality care would be replaced by government-run restrictive medicine. in addition, eventually hundreds of thousands of independent health care facilities would be shut down, leaving a large part of the population unemployed. Really think about this people...don't just follow blindly.

WH needs to tie the healthcare reform debate to the economy. I work in the healthcare field and I hear compliants from my patients about their insurance denying coverage after payment. They cannot afford treatment despite having so call insurance. Reform is needed.

A quick search of the Senate health bill will bring up "secretary" 2,500 times.
For instance, on Page 122 of the 2,079-page bill, the secretary is given the power to establish "the basic per enrollee, per month cost, determined on average actuarial basis, for including coverage under a qualified health care plan."
"The legislation lists 1,697 times where the secretary of health and humans services is given the authority to create, determine or define things in the bill," said Devon Herrick, a health care expert at the National Center for Policy Analysis.
Please, please Democrats, unite on this! Neither the Senate nor the House bills are perfect, but either would be an excellent start to fixing the health care debacle in this country. To the selfish people worried that they will lose something if reform passes, or angry that it might cost them something, please remember that 44,000 Americans die needlessly every year due to lack of insurance or denial of benefits. If we are truly the greatest county in the world, we should be able to provide affordable health care to ALL of our citizens, just as every other industrialized does.
