Henry: Afghanistan may define Obama's presidency

(CNN) - Interesting that with the 30,000 new troops President Obama is sending now – coupled with the 21,000 he sent in March – the recent winner of the Nobel Peace Prize has sent 51,000 troops to Afghanistan in less than one year in office.

Sign of the high stakes of this decision. We've spent a lot of time talking about health care, which is an important issue. But by sending this many young men and women to war Afghanistan may define his presidency.

EVERYTHING Obama is embroiled in right now is going to define his Presidency Ed! Gee-whiz, you're a genius! What are you thinking? Of course every decision he makes is going to define his Presidency. But he has to make those decisions. And I think he is doing his best to be as educated and deliberative with his decisions. After Bush's shooting from the hip methodologies, I would say this is a blessing for our Country.

The only definition here is Obama has let Karzai know we aren't writing he and his drug lord brother anymore free checks like Bush did.

You guys must be bored no laptops. People are tired of listening to you. This suppose to be the United States of America. What happen to United? Other countries don't act like this. It doesn't matter what he does there is going to be criticism. Shame on the media. You want to know where all the viewers are watching programs that are not stressing them out. Media is stressing people out which is causing health problems. You guys need to sign up for the WAR that you are instigating.

It already has. It's plain that he is not going to do anything worthwhile in destroying the enemy. The tropps won't even have time to deploy before they havew to start planning on how they're going to exit.

He dithered and showed indecision for months. He cuts back on his commanding generals troop request sending 30,000 instead of 40,000, and he clearly wants to get out ASAP. What does all that tell the Taliban and Terrorists? Weak and Indecisive leadership and all they have to do is wait him out!

This is Obama's war. Perhaps when the Nobel Peace Prize was awarded they were hoping it would sway his decision about the troops. this war will definitely define his presidency. Let's just hope he doesn't conduct it according to polls.

Obama's presidency would be well defined indeed if he sends ENOUGH troops and makes the tough decisions needed TO WIN this war.
I hope the President will not allow his phenomenal political skills and his joy in their use to dilute the war effort because of liberals' pleas to beat our guns into butter.
President Obama's withdrawal deadline is an example of his brilliant political planning, offering him a less degrading flight response if we cannot win.
Success for the USA in any war requires the brave support of our citizens: the fewer Flower Children opening their mouths we have in this war, the better.
One cannot protect butter with butter.
