(CNN) – Tareq Salahi said Tuesday he and his wife "did not party-crash" a White House state dinner last week.
The Obama administration said Tareq Salahi and his wife, Michaele Salahi, attended but had not been invited to the state dinner for visiting Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, and officials say they got into the event due to a breach in security.
Appearing on NBC's "Today" show with his wife, Tareq Salahi said the aftermath of the incident has been "the most devastating thing that's ever happened to us."
"We're greatly saddened by all the circumstances that have, you know, been involved and portraying my wife and I as party crashers - I can tell you, we did not party crash the White House."

They think "this is the most devastating thing that has ever happened to us". They are so devastated they are demanding six figure sums to tell their little tale to the media. Last I heard, no one was buying. Wait until they are hauled before a judge for lying to federal officials. I hope they go to jail.
If you didn't have an invitation.....what were you doing there. I don't care what the even is, if you show up uninvited, you crashed!

These people should be charged for lying to a Federal Agent, especially since we've learned this isn't the first time.
And the press does exactly what they want.... If you're unemployed, broke and have zero talent, do something stupid in the public eye and the press will make you instantaneously wealthy through interviews, reality tv spots and then you can write a book and maybe even run for a political office. Our society has passed the recovery mark, we are dooooooooommmmmmed!

With a name like this guy has you would think it would have raised a red flag, but given the sorry state of things now, I guess not.
I personally think that they are liars in addition to being party crashers. This was just a stupid publicity stunt associated wtih the desire of morons to be on a reality show, all of which are watched by nitwits, so no harm was intended. They merely wished to increase their income and used the Presidency to do so.
I recommend no jail time. I would prefer to see them on five years of weekend community service. They can spend the next 260 Saturdays and Sundays pulling weeds and picking up trash. It will be good for them.
I do not find these "party crashers" the most likable people in the world, but this gathering was paid for by American tax-payers. Any tax paying American should be allowed to attend.

You have a supposed high rolling society couple who has been reported to be broke and on the brink of financial ruin.
Then you have any number of government officials and spokes people.

Being a reality-TV "star" or "hopeful" seems to be indicitive of a serious personality complex. Just like the "Balloon Boy" parents – absolutely nuts and a danger to society. These two losers are going to milk this ,for everything that it's worth,... i can see a lawsuit coming, against the Secret Service and the WH,... only in America,... sometimes too much freedom can be a curse, especially for individuals that can't handle it.
I would like to know where and when they got their invintation. Who ever allowed them in needs to have his head exaimed. There should be a list that the Secret Service has of who is invited. Anyone on that list should be asked to step aside. The White House Social office should be there with the Secret Service to help with people coming in to parties etc.
Psychopaths will tell you anything and you tend to believe them. I think they shoul be prosecuted and the Secret Service agents who let them slide by should be fired.
These people should have been arrested and carged by now and the Secret Service Agents who let them in should be fired and investigated. Instead, these clowns are doing the circuit with the media's help. This is a far bigger deal than Tiger Woods hitting a tree, yet that's getting more media coverage. America is in serious trouble with its priorities. Are we all that obsessed with fame and gossip?

No physical copy of an invitation in hand. No name of the list. Dude, you WEREN'T INVITED. And I hope they throw every law in the book at you for it!
If it walks like a duck....quacks like a duck....it is probably a duck. These folks are publicity seeking low life's. Their antics have probably ruined the careers of good Secret Service Agents.. They should be ashamed...and prosecuted. The only good that will come out of this will be to beef up the Security at such events.
I think that we need to look closer at the Secret Service and ask how did this happen????? It would have been devastating to our country if these people were anything other than 'party crashers'.
