White House will adjust security procedures

Washington (CNN) – The White House is adjusting its security protocol to prevent uninvited guests from crashing future events, a top administration official announced Wednesday.

Going forward, White House staff will be stationed at security checkpoints alongside U.S. Secret Service agents, Deputy Chief of Staff Jim Messina said in a memo posted on the White House Web site.

"Guests will be checked off of the list by White House staff and the Secret Service will continue to ensure that all guests have been properly cleared before entering the White House," Messina wrote in the memo. "Guests whose names are not on the guest list will be assisted by White House staff present at the check point for appropriate resolution."

"As always, the Secret Service will provide security and remain ultimately responsible for controlling access to the White House complex," Messina added.

...should be more stringent, sounds like a checklist to get into the gymnasium to attend the high school prom. I am still amazed as to how this even happened.

The White House staff were the ones who screwed this up in the first place. The staff were at the check points and let their friends through.

I visited the While House about a month ago. We were greeted by Secret Service plus another individual with a badge which we noticed many personnel were wearing around the white house, which tells me that there was double security when we went thru. I guess it is the old story of a communication breakdown!

Wouldn't have happened at all if you didn't place the First Lady's best friend in charge of Social Services at the WH, who promptly demoted the previous staff who then quit.

    Just sayin.

Why... Because the facebook posts made them look bad – or – the couple weren't big enough donors?

All it takes is money, your name is ALWAYS on the list if you're a "good little" polittical contributor, lobbyist, bank CEO, Arab Oil interest, etc...

The White House and the Secret Service should rethink, strengthen their security proceedures and ensure that last week's specticle never occurs again. In addition, they should send a very clear and loud message that crashing White House social events and other official government events will not be tolerated. That can be accomplished by prosecuting the Salahis for trespassing, and lying to gain access to an official event that they were not invited to.

Why haven't we heard who it was that screwed this up? I'm guessing it was some Obozo political hack, and there's a coverup in progress.

They did not blame Bush for it!
Finally something it's not Bush. From now the war is Obama's, the economy is Obama's, jobs are Obama's and WH security is also Obama's.

Stop the mad campaign against retired citizen G.W. Bush and take responsibility!

Headline News and 360 are so worried about a couple that may not have been invited that went to the taxpayer's Whit House but have given given only lip sink coverage to the fraudulent conspiracy of Global Warming perpetrated by Gore, Boxer, Reid, Obama, crooked researchers, and most news media including CNN. If you, as a news media, had any credibility and balls you would be demanding that all of these people be prosecuted and that the in progress UN environmental dictates and Cap-and-Trade" legislation be stopped immediately. However, it seems that no one is "keeping you honest". It grieves me to see how over the years that you have become a "propaganda news media" rather than an unbiased and responsible news media.

My question is: Why hasn't the Secret Service been reprimanded over an action such as this "party crash" taking place? I consider this as being a very slack move on their part. Someone did not do their job properly.
Providing security for Our President is very important.
Investigate every member of the Secret Service that was there.
I truly like Mr. Obama and think he is doing good things for the USA.
