Palin defends Obama birth certificate inquiries

Sarah Palin says 'members of the electorate still want answers' about President Obama's citizenship.

Sarah Palin says 'members of the electorate still want answers' about President Obama's citizenship.

Washington (CNN) - Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin defended the public's right to question the legitimacy of President Obama's birth certificate, but noted that she is not demanding for it to be released.

Appearing on conservative radio host Rusty Humphries program, Palin said that she supports people inquiring about it.

"I think the public rightfully is still making it an issue," Palin said in the interview with Humphries. "I don't have a problem with that. I don't know if I would have to bother to make it an issue, because I think that members of the electorate still want answers."

Humphries, whose radio show airs on about 300 stations across the country, went on to press Palin about whether it is "fair" game to ask such questions.

"I think it's a fair question, just like I think past association and past voting records - all of that is fair game," Palin responded.

She also criticized her own presidential campaign for not asking enough questions about Obama.

"The McCain-Palin campaign didn't do a good enough job in that area," the 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate said. "We didn't call out Obama and some of his associates on their records and what their beliefs were and perhaps what some of their future plans were and I don't think that was fair to voters to not have done our job as candidates.

The interview aired at 10:30 p.m. ET, and just a few hours later Palin made it clear in a posting on her Facebook page that she, personally, is not asking to see it.

"Voters have every right to ask candidates for information if they so choose," Palin said. "I've pointed out that it was seemingly fair game during the 2008 election for many on the left to badger my doctor and lawyer for proof that Trig is in fact my child. Conspiracy-minded reporters and voters had a right to ask... which they have repeatedly. But at no point – not during the campaign, and not during recent interviews – have I asked the president to produce his birth certificate or suggested that he was not born in the United States."

It concerns me how Mrs. Palin has conveniently forgotten we all saw her in church with a witch doctor performing some sort of act, or that she “allegedly ” belongs to a group that implies separation of Alaska from the United States is “a right of the people”. But of course this was all prior to being chosen for the VP candidate.

Oh how little do we remember of our own past when trying to point the finger at someone else's.

Simple enough request that all presidential candidates should be able to (must) provide – except for this one for some reason..! If it says Hawaii, then no problem. If it says Mombasa, then hello Tiger!

I reserve the right to question Palin's sanity. She can't produce that...

I am starting to like Sarah. If she continues to be even just one of the voices of the looser p arty and continues to bring these unproductive, useless issues, we are at least gaurenteed win in 2012 and may be even beyond. Keep it up smart lady

McCain/Palin lost (fair and square-unlike previous elections). Any questions, comments, discussions about that time is pure speculation and more importantly, sour grapes. Get over it and move on.

There are so many questions that were not asked about Palin. Her husband is anti American, who built her house, her kickbacks, her corruption in state government, why did she hide her pregnancy, her affair with a friend's husband and does she really have a college degree? All are fair game since she continues to stay in the limelight.

However she wasnt asked, or maybe just declined to answer, whether or not she thought the issue was true.

The only issue surrounding President Obama's birth certificate is why some people are so stupid that they can't accept the fact that not only were birth announcements made in the two local Honolulu newspapers when he was born, but also:

    – Both the State of Illinois and the FBI long ago verified President Obama's citizenship, as part of the vetting process for State and U.S. Senator, respectively.

The "birthers," Palin and others of low intelligence, high intolerance, and an inability to accept that they LOST, need to get a life!

But wait! That would mean going back to mundane things like working for a living and letting go of some self-deluded idea of importance.

Neither Palin nor the “birthers” have the guts or intelligence to do that!

This woman is clearly nuts. She is a publicity seeking radical who either is too stupid to understand you can't hide something like a falsified birth certificate in today's electronic age, or she is trying to call attention back to herself. Get a life, preferably out of the public spotlight, Sarah.

I hope the GOP nominates her in 2012 and enjoys the general conflagration when Americans find out how totally infected the party is from top to bottom with patently loony conspiracy theories about death panels and ACORN and our President's place of origin. You try to ride the tiger and you end up inside. The Republicans wanted the segregationists, the black helicopter people, the fundamentalist crazies. To get them and keep them, they pandered to them. They encouraged segregated private schools, and religious schools and home schooling. They made a whole generation stupider than it would have been if it had stayed in public schools, and now that's their base - stupid people. People who believe (like the current frontrunner Huckabee) that there's no such thing as evolution. People who say the New Deal prolonged the Depression. People who say Johnson killed Kennedy. People who say Obama was born in Kenya. People who say we're starting concentration camps, or planning to exterminate old people. People who shoot abortion doctors or shoot up the Holocaust Museum or demand that all Muslim staffers and pages and interns be banned from Capitol Hill. They have sowed the dragons' teeth, and now they, like the rest of us, will have to face the fire.

What a dork, and anyone else who thinks like that is a dork too. Obama's BC has been plastered everywhere. Get over it. Even if he is foreign, he's still smarter and more intelligent than Bush ever was, or ever could hope to be.

Now the public has a right to look into Palin's medical records which will prove she is a nut case. A birth certificate is a medical record which gives the public the same right to Palin's records.

"She also criticized her own presidential campaign for not asking enough questions about Obama."

Of course, that didn't stop her from spreading her lying BS.
To her the truth doesn't mean anything. She just shoots off her vile crap and hope someone will listen.

I never call names but Sarah- you're an idiot! And so are the birthers.
This is a dead issue. Documents have been shown. Newspapers from when he was born have been shown.
Sorry we don't brand children in the U.S. when they are born to be able to show more proof.
This stupid, moron thinks we still need to listen to anything she says.
    Wake up America- enough!

Has it ever occured to anyone that if citizenship was an issue his own party would have challenged that back during the primary days. This issue is just hold-over nonsense from, "Oh, no, we lost the election. Now how can we get rid of this man."

If you're not going to ask for the POTUS to produce the document you don't believe to be accurate, or to not exist, then what is the use of complaining about it?

I support the publics right to question whether this knucklehead has an IQ in triple figures.

Sarah the clown has long realized that she has no future politically and that she has become part of the theater of the absurd. She now milks it financially on the fringe just like our great capitalist system teaches us to do. I don't blame her for doing this. This is akin to Jerry Springer and the only ones who don't realize this is US, the public.

Go Sarah! Way to talk about the big issues.

If she was Vice President right now she would be leading an investigation to see if Iraq has WMDs.

Anyone who agrees with this woman, you should be ashamed. Even my 7 year old kid corrects her sentences, as well as her lies.

Remember at one point during the campaign that people were calling for an amendment to the Constitution so that Arnie could run for president....and what about McCain being born in Panama? My understanding is that children of military personnel born overseas have a dual citizenship until age of majority then they can choose which country. But someone may want to check it out.

It tells you something about Palin that when she has a self-criticism, it is that she and her campaign did not do enough of a hatchet job on Obama.

That's how they failed. They didn't play dirty enough. Saying that he "palled around with terrorists" wasn't a low enough blow, and tacitly encouraging her audience when they called for Obama to die wasn't quite as down and dirty as she should have gotten. Perhaps next time she will take the gloves off and attack him with a crowbar.

    What a sweet lady.

@Stu: A CERTIFICATE of live BIRTH is the only thing I have from my birth in Massachusettes (which is, also, part of the US). That is a birth certificate. Further evidence is two newspaper announcements in HI newspapers. You have compelling evidence of a birth in the US of Barack Obama.

Do you have anything to indicate otherwise? A birth certificate from Kenya? Anything?

I thought not. Turn off Rush and Beck, and get a clue.
