Palin defends Obama birth certificate inquiries

Sarah Palin says 'members of the electorate still want answers' about President Obama's citizenship.

Sarah Palin says 'members of the electorate still want answers' about President Obama's citizenship.

Washington (CNN) - Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin defended the public's right to question the legitimacy of President Obama's birth certificate, but noted that she is not demanding for it to be released.

Appearing on conservative radio host Rusty Humphries program, Palin said that she supports people inquiring about it.

"I think the public rightfully is still making it an issue," Palin said in the interview with Humphries. "I don't have a problem with that. I don't know if I would have to bother to make it an issue, because I think that members of the electorate still want answers."

Humphries, whose radio show airs on about 300 stations across the country, went on to press Palin about whether it is "fair" game to ask such questions.

"I think it's a fair question, just like I think past association and past voting records - all of that is fair game," Palin responded.

She also criticized her own presidential campaign for not asking enough questions about Obama.

"The McCain-Palin campaign didn't do a good enough job in that area," the 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate said. "We didn't call out Obama and some of his associates on their records and what their beliefs were and perhaps what some of their future plans were and I don't think that was fair to voters to not have done our job as candidates.

The interview aired at 10:30 p.m. ET, and just a few hours later Palin made it clear in a posting on her Facebook page that she, personally, is not asking to see it.

"Voters have every right to ask candidates for information if they so choose," Palin said. "I've pointed out that it was seemingly fair game during the 2008 election for many on the left to badger my doctor and lawyer for proof that Trig is in fact my child. Conspiracy-minded reporters and voters had a right to ask... which they have repeatedly. But at no point – not during the campaign, and not during recent interviews – have I asked the president to produce his birth certificate or suggested that he was not born in the United States."

I think it's time Sara produced a birth certificate. And not some piece of paper from Alaska saying "Certificate of Live Birth." I want it to say "Birth Certificate."

I hear she was really born on one of those islands in Russia that you can see from Alaska. But not really Alaska. She's not really an American.

She's really just a complete idiot.

Palin is just a joke. She resigned her post as Governor of Alaska because of all the inquiries into her personal dealings. But she support this stupid witch-hunt for Obama's birth certificate. Palin knows well there is no question about Obama's citizenship. Can you say hypocrite. But the gaggle of morons that follow her every move will just eat this up.

  5. Republican: I only help those who can already help themselves

She is really focusing on her family, just like she said she would when she would quit.

Only problem is she confused the word "family" for the word "myself".

Simply amazing that there are so many morons out there willing to follow this empty smile ....wink-wink.
Of course she supports tea-bagger conspiracy theories – she's one of them – on both accounts.

That means Bush's grand intelligence committee, the one many of my fellow republicans RAVE about and how it kept us safe, failed not on one, not on two, but on HUNDREDS of levels from TOP to BOTTOM.

In a nut shell, W. actually destroyed our intelligence community, and did NOT keep us safe, as this birth certificate CLEARLY demonstrates.

Or, then there is the off chance possibility that Obama is really a US Citizen and the Bimbo from Wasilla is a delusional moron.

I'm placing my money on Palin being a complete and total fool, just as many of the current day republicans are. These inbred racist morons have ruined the GOP for good.

I'm sure the national security forces of the US did a better job of vetting Obamas birthplace than Johnnies team did of vetting Caribou Barbie...........

if BO goes up for re-election the missing birth certificate (along with missing school records, missing college records, missing health records, etc., etc.) SHOULD BE REQUIRED to be shown. he may have gotten a "pass" once but not twice.

The "birthers" make a deliberate choice not to believe reality. There isn't anything Obama could provide that would convince them otherwise.

Of course, Palin now can look forward to people demanding the exact same information from her that she tacitly wants Obama to provide.

"We didn't call out Obama and some of his associates on their records and what their beliefs were and perhaps what some of their future plans were ..."

Sounds like Palin is angling for a job at Faux News ... she certainly has the unsubstantiated, misleading rumor down pat!

Or perhaps she's just jealous of the President – you know, of someone who can:

    – Write their own books
    – Speak in complete, coherent English sentences
    – Didn't have to go to five different schools in six years to get a "journalism" degree
    – Doesn't quit when the going gets tough

    Palin = Quitter, Liar, Mooch

  14. Royster is OK for Palinites to ask about Obama's birth certificate and his associations, but then when Alaska launches multiple Ethics investigations against her it is 'witchhunting', 'unfair', 'targeting her',. etc.........

What a smug, grinning hypocrite Sarah Palin is!
She encourages attacks against HER enemies, but don't you dare come moosing around HER ethics door!

According to her, associations one belongs to is fair game. O.K., let's talk about the seccessionist organiztion the former "First Dude" belonged to and she supported. Just another case of the multiple faces of Sarah Palin!

Breaking news – please pass it on to Sarah Palin - Barack Obama is no longer a candidate - he is he elected president of the USA.

Why is she still allowed on military bases to peddle her book if she is questioning the legitimacy of the Commander in Chief?

How many times does Obama have to show his birth certificate to the press? It has already been shown. How many times do we have to see the birth announcement in the Hawaii paper before these people will get a clue?

As a matter of trivia, John McCain was NOT born in the US. He was born in Panama. Were was all the uproar about that from these people when he was running for president.

P.S. I am also a member of the electorate and I want answers about Sarah Palin's ethics, her moneytaking from Alaska, her funding of the bridge to nowhere, her unfinished hockey rink in the middle of nowhere, her firing of state officials she felt were against her, her taking of RNC monies for person expenses during the election, her taking of state funds for personal family travel with her children........I keep asking these questions but seem to get no answers.

And Palin is questioning Obama???? hahahahaha
Why didn't Sarah put these answers in the BOOK??

Why don't you people think?? A bad as the good ole boys did not want Obama to be a candidate for POTUS, do you actually think they did not dig back to his birth as well as his kindergarten records to validate he was legitimate? There is no way Barack Obama would be president without certainty of his birthplace. This is just another conspiracy to try and deligitamize his presidency. I am not buying it for one second, not one!

Travis in Colorado: To you and everyone else who thinks that the President hasn't "shown everyone" his birth certificate.

    1. Do you honestly think that the U.S. government, specifically the FBI, did not thoroughly vet President Obama when he became a U.S. Senator and took the oath of office?

    2. Or that the State of Illinois did not do the same?

    3. Or that if there was any real proof of this – you know, the kind that can stand up to scrutiny and the law and not just pass the Bubba test – that the media – left, right, up, down, sideways, inside out – would have presented it?

The problem isn't with President Obama's birth certificate – the problem is with all the idiots in our country who continue to make noise about this non-issue.

If you yahoos would instead do something productive with your lives other than sit around yakking about your paranoid conspiracy theories, we would all be a lot better off!
