If tax dollars fund abortion then by my religious beliefs I will no longer be able to pay taxes. If I pay my taxes knowing that a portion of those funds will support an abortion then I would have excommunicated myself from the church and doomed to hell. So, when the government starts funding abortions with tax dollars you can come visit me in prison for failure to pay income tax. Then you guys will have to pay for me to sit in a prison all day. Abortion IS murder.

Republicans went to bed with the religious right and their money so therefor the GOP has to lay with them. Republicans never flow with the majority. Isn't panning out too well huh???

Sexually active men should consider a vacectomy, it is save and reverseable, why dump all the responsability on the woman, no baby,
no abortion, end of the abortion debate.

The best way to reduce unwanted pregnancy when the choice to have sex is involved (i.e., excluding rape and incest) is to teach responsible birth control (for both males and females) and provide access to affordable birth control.

The best way to not have an unwanted pregnancy (again, excluding rape and incest) is to practice abstinence. If you're honest with yourself and you know that is not an option, then the best way is to take responsibility for yourself and your actions and use effective birth control.

Women have a right to have an abortion. The boyfriend and her can pay for it too, not the taxpayer.

Here's something to think about. If you don't want a baby, don't do something to have one. I'm sure the next debate will be the death penalty and the libs will be all over that because we can't kill a guilty person (but we can kill an innocent baby because they don't fit the parent's lifestyle). Note to libs – think of it as a postnatal abortion and you won't have a problem with the death penalty.

On the flip side maybe the liberals will manage to kill themselves off.

I could care less if a woman wanted a abortion but I don't want to pay for it. The issue is not if you are for or against abortion. It is using tax payer dollars for it.

Birth control is not the answer, abstinence and chastity until marriage is the answer because it's what God wills for us.

Tania to answer your question, "How many of you would not want to have an abortion after getting pregnant during rape?" I know rape is a terrible thing, but, it's even worse for a woman to make the choice to murder an innocent child. First, it goes against the commandment God gave us not to kill. There are so many families that could adopt and love the child. Abortion is a selfish act, we are to put others first, so why would it be ok to have an abortion. Secondly, the Woman, is deceived into thinking this is the best option, but, it is an option that has long lasting consequences. No one at the abortion clinic tells them that do they?

"We want to prevent poor minorities from getting abortions under threat of losing their publicly subsidized health insurance because we want to be able to tell them that the simple solution is to just stop reproducing."

60% of all abortions are by low income women. They don't seem to have any trouble getting abortions when they want them.

The Reid and Pelosi bill are not for the low income people. This is expanding Medicaid into the upper tax brackets. There will be more people using the same tax dollars for the same low level of health care. Something will give...and it will be at the expense of poor.

As much as the libs claim to be on the side of the poor, Republicans have everyone’s best interest in mind. Just like the $787 billion failed to create jobs, this ObamaCare will fail to improve health care.

    Libs just don't get it.

Nobody here is debating the right to abortion of females, they are debating should mine and your dollars pay for irresponsible people who do not use protection during sex.
If its a question about raped victim than its a different story.
But I do not want my tax dollars to pay for other peoples irresponsibility. If your old enough to have sex, you should think of consequences.

There is a saying "you play, you pay"

At least a few politicians still care a tiny bit about women's rights.

I missed the part where it says women can't have abortions.

You can have them you want; in fact I hope libs have them more and more. Find a free clinic and knock yourself out. This was about funding it with tax dollars.

How nice would that get out of two commitments at once....being a parent and paying for the bill.

It shows that the senate and the President are immoral. They do not have value for life. American people will make note of it and throw them out in Nov 2010.

No democrat has the guts to vote against abortion. Their lunatic, death loving, fringe lefties won't allow it. Kill the innocent unborn, but don't touch murderers, and child rapists. All life being sacred you know. The pro-abortion left looks at each abortion as a moral victory. At least the President, and Speaker of the House have the guts enough to be openly pro-abortion, and not hide behind the "Pro-choice" misnomer. Nothing like the wishy-washy leftist who says, "Personally, I would never have an abortion, BUT..."

Throughout his career, Harry Reid has professed to being "pro-life." As a Mormon, one would expect no less.

If Reid now pushes this legislation through, with no protection of life, he will have proven himself to be the Century's greatest Hypocrite. Us voters here in Nevada won't forget that in 2010.

The bill already prohibits people who receive federal subsidies from using that money to get a plan that covers abortion. If I want to spend my own money and get a plan in the exchange (not through my employer), I should be able to get the coverage that I want and choose to pay for. No one is forcing anyone to pay for someone else's abortion, but the government shouldn't be able to tell another person what kind of health insurance coverage he/she can get. Don't you "small government" people get that? Just like you don't want the government to tell you what to do with your assault rifles. Sheesh!

  23. Hey, Ladies . . .

Women have a right to have an abortion - and they have the right to pay for it.

But they DO NOT have the right to expect ME to pay for it.

Women also have the responsibility to use their heads and avoid relationships with dead-beat men.

Women who respect and value themselves already know all this! Those who don't had better learn how to. It's really not all that hard - just say NO - and leave.

Everyone has a right to an abortion, if raped or incest, no problem including it, but because you chose to have unprotected sex and now need to rid yourself of your mistake, NO I will not pay for it! Elective procedures should not be covered under health plan. Personal responsibility is dead in america....

Thank goodness. I'm really tired of men making decisions regarding women's health issues. It really is a violation of our civil rights.
