Cheney makes big 2010 prediction

Dick Cheney is predicting the Republican Party is in for a big 2010

(CNN) - As President Barack Obama nears one year in office, Dick Cheney is predicting the Republican Party is in for a big 2010.

"I think we'll pick up a lot of seats," the former vice president told Fox New's Sean Hannity Tuesday. "Prospects for the Republicans in 2010 are very good."

Next November, all 435 seats in the House and more than a third in the Senate are up for grabs. Democrats will be defending their 258-177 margin in the House and 20-seat advantage in the Senate.

Cheney, who is among his party's most fervent critics of the president, said Obama is in a more vulnerable position than anyone predicted one year ago.

"Right after Obama was elected, there was the view that he was invincible," Cheney said. "He raised more money than anybody else. He had a machine that smashed the Clinton campaign and then won the election, and that he'd be around for eight years and now I think that has changed fairly dramatically."

The vice president also said Obama has implemented "radical" far left policies even though he campaigned as a conventional Democrat.

"He got elected as a liberal Democrat, but conventional in the sense of falling within the parameters of the national Democratic Party," Cheney said. "He's demonstrated pretty conclusively now during his first year in office that he's more radical than that, that he's farther outside the parameters…of what we've traditionally had in Democratic presidents in years past."

But Cheney held back from predicting who in his party is best positioned to take on the president come 2012.

"At this point I'd be reluctant to pinpoint anybody," he said. "It might hurt them more than it would help them coming from me."

As most know, politics is cyclical. It is all about the mood of the voters. In 08, the voters were tired of the war and of the poor economy and Obama was voted in. If in '10 and '12 the war is not going well and the economy is depressed, the dems will get bounced. That how it works! For many of us , it is primarly about the economy! If Cap and trade slips throught and increases taxes and electric bills, bye-bye dems!

Hummm... and where are those WMDs you predicted we'd find in Iraq? And where is Ben Laden, who you predicted we'd catch and try for his crimes? Soory, but I'm a little leary of any of your predictions Darth Dick, and I think the people of the United States should be, too. You've proven yourself to be a pathological liar and a rouge politican who is not above violating fundemental human rights to get your way. Why should anyone listen to you?

How is it that all the failures from Republican party think anyone cares about their opinions. Newflash Cheney, you and W screwed the country over 8 years and wishing Obama fails.

Dick can predict anything he wishes but that does not make it so. He simply cannot get out of the picture. Go away, your time is over. This country does not need another prediction from the man who was wrong, wrong, wrong while his administration was in power. We don't need more garbage to clean up, there is enough polution left over from the last eight years.

Isn't this the same guy who predicted the Iraqis would welcome us with open arms when we invaded Baghdad?

I predict that within the next twenty years, Dick Cheney will no longer exist, and nothing he ever said in his entire life will ever be quoted again.

Cheney on Fox? There's a shocker. Nothing like preaching to the choir.

    Say goodnight D/ck.

Cheney perpetrated numerous impeachable offenses. He should be in prison, not given a bully pulpit.

Based on Cheney's past predictions, I think the Dems can now breathe much more easy regarding the 2010 elections. P.S. Does anyone remember the old vaudeville "hooks?" They were employed to pull very bad (third-rate) acts of the stage. Perhaps there's one at the Smithsonian which can be pressed into service.

I can't stand Dick Cheney, but he is right about this one. Obama was elected because of his race and his soothing speeches. Now people are realizing that he is totally clueless about how to run the country. There will be a backlash in 2010 against all Democrats and Obama will be a one-term president.

We all know how accurate Cheney is with his predictions: We'll be hailed as liberators; We'll be out in 6 months; We know where the weapons are; Oil revenues will pay for this war: We don't need that many tropps, etc... Why would anyone think he is any smarter, or more truthful, now than he was 8 years ago.

Cheney is wrong 99 percent of the time – - just look at his past- – so the democrats should be expecting a good 2010! Thanks big Dick…

Cheney makes a prediction? Is this like predicting weapons of mass destruction? Or more like predicting we would be welcomed as liberators? maybe prdicting we wouldn't really go after Bin Laden? How about that energy group that formulated our energey policy? Any predictions about who attended those secret White House meetings? I predict Cheney will use his public option health coverage several times this year to tend to his ticker. I hope his defribulator, paid for by the tax payers who fund his public option health care works real good. I also predict Cheney will not shut up!

I guess Dick Cheney thinks trying to save the economy from the vast failures of the Bush and Cheney Administration are radical. If it had not been for the policies of Obama the country would now be mired in a Global Depression. President Obama will take the White House again when the employment figures begin to rise and along with approval ratings. We have now a President that cares about the average citizen and not WALL STREET. My advice to Dick Cheney is to just go away because you have done enough damage to the economy and sending our troops to die in foreign lands.

I think it would be best for the country if Dick took Sarah out hunting; maybe they would accidentally shoot each other, that would put a stop to the dribble that spews from both of them.

dick's either a liar or an idiot.

Obama has been a hardline moderate since elected. that's why his support is eroding.

either way, dick needs to go away.

I honestly wish this creep would just go away. After 8 years of failed policies, creating the biggest deficit ever, wasting billions of $$ of surplus taxpayer money, invading a sovereign nation and making billions of dollars off it (Halliburton) and leaving the mess to the current administration to clean-up, this ass is in no position to critcize anyone. He is the epitome of washington deceit and corruption.

What a crock! How he tries to rewrite history – what a liar and a con man. Every emergency that Barack Obama is facing was caused by his administration! They did not watch out for the mortgage scandals, they let Wall Street do what ever it wanted, the started the illegal and incredibly expensive war in Iraq for their own profit, the started but never really cared about Afghanistan, the spent spent spent so their wealthy friends got wealtheir and cared nothing for working people for years! They did not protect our troops , they created a way to keep troops going to war over and over which is destroying our fine young patriots and they did nothing to protect us on 9/11- he actually told the US fighters to stand down! He is a criminal for so many reasons I don't know why I have to see his face or read about anything he has to say – he ought to be in prison for war crimes and outing a CIA agent!
