Dick Cheney is predicting the Republican Party is in for a big 2010

(CNN) - As President Barack Obama nears one year in office, Dick Cheney is predicting the Republican Party is in for a big 2010.

"I think we'll pick up a lot of seats," the former vice president told Fox New's Sean Hannity Tuesday. "Prospects for the Republicans in 2010 are very good."

Next November, all 435 seats in the House and more than a third in the Senate are up for grabs. Democrats will be defending their 258-177 margin in the House and 20-seat advantage in the Senate.

Cheney, who is among his party's most fervent critics of the president, said Obama is in a more vulnerable position than anyone predicted one year ago.

"Right after Obama was elected, there was the view that he was invincible," Cheney said. "He raised more money than anybody else. He had a machine that smashed the Clinton campaign and then won the election, and that he'd be around for eight years and now I think that has changed fairly dramatically."

The vice president also said Obama has implemented "radical" far left policies even though he campaigned as a conventional Democrat.

"He got elected as a liberal Democrat, but conventional in the sense of falling within the parameters of the national Democratic Party," Cheney said. "He's demonstrated pretty conclusively now during his first year in office that he's more radical than that, that he's farther outside the parameters…of what we've traditionally had in Democratic presidents in years past."

But Cheney held back from predicting who in his party is best positioned to take on the president come 2012.

"At this point I'd be reluctant to pinpoint anybody," he said. "It might hurt them more than it would help them coming from me."

Sure you will Dick! Sure they will!
The fact is that too many Americans are lame brain and have forgotten the mess You Dick and company created. They have forgotten that You spent over a trillion dollars in Iraq; they also forgot that you are collecting millions from your links to the unjust business deals you created.

Does anyone really care what Darth Vader has to say? He must have the lowest appoval rating of any VP that finished his term (boy what a mistake not to impeach the puppet master) . The cleanup after this elephant will take many Democratic administrations. The GOP is not getting back in for a while because of idiots like this other tricky Dick who can't keep his mouth shut. Everytime it opens, people remember how bad the GOP can be.

Since Cheney knows how much he is hated and dismissed by most of the American people, who doesn't he just shut up then? He can't keep the verbal diarrhea under control evidently. Get lost you bum!!! Retire, go on a hunting trip and shoot some quail, or old friends, or whatever. Just disappear, creep. YOU are responsible for the mess this country is in and we won't forget it either!!

I still have hope that once Americans see the low quality and the social demagogues that the Republicans will present for election they will be rejected just as they were in 2006 and 2008. It may sound good at this time to punish the Democrats but do we really want to return to the dark days of 2000 to 2008 where science was ignored, corporate greed ran rampant, and Republican morality was forced upon us while their leaders continued their hypocritical lives? I hope Cheney hopes prove to be dellusional.

They might if Cheney stays quiet. Everytime he opens his mouth I think of the disaster Bush/Cheney was. Hard for me to vote republican after the total incompetance they showed.

Obama has been a disappointment to many of us Libs, but he's still a thousand times better than Bushy and Tricky Dick II.

SERIOUSLY – Can anyone take to the bank anything this lying, war mongering criminal has to say?? While he may be wishin and a hopin for a BIG 2010 – it's too soon to tell. And, of course when you are in the friendly confines of Sean 'I haven't seen an endorsement I cannot make money off of' Hannity, how would you expect that conversation to end.....?? This character has to go back in his cave and play with his toy soilders and leave everyone else alone...

So far he has been wrong on everything. He is even trying to rewrite history to make himself look better. Shouldn't he and George be behind bars?

Yeah. Cheney was the one that boldly predicted in the first few years of the Iraq war that the insurgents are in their "last throes". What a bright, bright man!

Cheney... "has shown conclusively" that he is an idiot over a period of 8 years and continues to do so. Why anyone would bother listening to anything he says is beyond reason.

I like the part where he says Obama implemented "radical" policies. How radical is it when the Bush/Cheney group LIED to the American public.
The GOP have a long history of telling LIES, or at the very least fear-mongering, here is a short list:
The internet rumor in 2007 that Barack Obama is really Muslim. To frighten Americans.
The whisper-campaign about "Death Panels" told by many far-right-folks, including Palin. Another fear tactic and a …… lie!
The LIES told by the McCain/Palin campaign that "Obama pals around with terrorist." Lie.
The lies spouted regularly on AM Hate-Radio by Hannity, Reagan, Savage, etc., and the lies on Faux News.
The LIE told to us by Bush & DICK, that Iraq was building nuclear weapons and had WMD's so we must attack. Thousands of our Troops have died. Millions of Iraqis have died and been displaced.
The GOP's politics of hate, lies, fear and division is vile and just plain evil.

Well if it's not the lying fake heart attack man again. You lied about the wars to get the American people into. You lied about your ticker for the last eight years.Like they say if you lie enough to people they will start believing you, right cheney. By the way he was the vice president he is not the vice president any more.If President Obama wants to see a full eight years he needs to bury these repugs jokers and that is a fact.

Get this guy off the air!
Enough already. How can you not know exactly what he will say by now?
Just take the truth, regardless of how obvious, and twist it backward to conform to the right wing facist agenda, and you have his pontifications.
Spare us. Cover news that matters.

Well, I just hope this means that, as of today, Dick Cheney is the face of the 2010 Republican Congressional Victory March.

It will be hard to re-tool their record of 100% un-Patriotic obstructionism and complete lack of civic spirit. However, if anyone can twist and re-frame it, Dick's the man for the job.

Go Dick! (hey, that actually has a powerful ring of truth to it).

I am a life-long Democrat, but Mr. Cheney is 5,000%+++ right. Mr. Cheney, thank you for speaking the truth. President NObama, Pop-Up Pelosi and the senile Reed, and the rest of President NObama’s butt kissers are the biggest liars this country has ever elected to public office.

So much for openness in government. Let's make sure we remember these lying idiots come election time and before it is too late to resurrect our beloved country. Oh, and while we are at it, Florida voters, please do not forget Catty Castor. She also needs her due.

    Stay tuned!

NOTE TO CNN: I know you folks are in bed with President NObama and his administration, however, I hope you still have enough dignity and integrity left to publish these comments.

I am inclined to agree with the former Veep, but I would add a very important condition; that being Cheney stays out of the Republican Party politics. Just his name alone is enough to cause people to refrain from casting their ballot fo a GOP member. I would venture that an Independent would fare much better.

I think that Cheney is too far off. I would think that it is hard to make any prediction until July 2010. There may be scandals that affect individual members of Congress, but I don't forsee enough of them to really remake the House and Senate.
