Palin calls for Obama to boycott climate change conference

Palin is calling on President Obama to boycott the Copenhagen climate change conference next week.

(CNN) –Sarah Palin has taken to the Washington Post op-ed page to urge President Barack Obama to cancel his scheduled appearance at the Copenhagen climate change conference next week.

Referencing private e-mails from climate change scientists at a research facility in Britain that were hacked and published on the Internet late last month, Palin said now is not the time for the President to show his support for the "radical environmental movement."

"Instead of staying home from Copenhagen and sending a message that the United States will not be a party to fraudulent scientific practices, the president has upped the ante, Palin writes. "He plans to fly in at the climax of the conference in hopes of sealing a 'deal.' Whatever deal he gets, it will be no deal for the American people."

Palin added Obama's underlying political objective is to increase pressure on Congress to pass the Democrats "cap and trade" energy proposal that is expected to be debated early next year.

"This is a political move. The last thing America needs is misguided legislation that will raise taxes and cost jobs - particularly when the push for such legislation rests on agenda-driven science," writes Palin. "Without trustworthy science and with so much at stake, Americans should be wary about what comes out of this politicized conference. The president should boycott Copenhagen."

At the vice presidential debate last year, Palin said she was for capping carbon emissions but did not elaborate on how she would do that.

As he should stay home....Global Warming is a hoax perpetuated by Al Gore, jurst as Global Cooling was perpetuated by Jimmy Carter. Obama is just following the party line inspite of the evidence or lack of evidence or falsified evidence...anything to cost the tax payers more $$$ and also the Copenhagen Treaty would give other countries a say on how we run our own country...sounds a bit treasonous to me...but then again Truman and Hiss, FDR and Stalin and Mao, Kennedy and Johnson (Viet Nam)... Clinton (WTC 1, the Cole...impeached), interesting how all these democrats are shall we say always supporting things to hurt the US....

well of course she does because she is an absolute fool – an idiot –
if nothing else you would think she would have the intelligence to understand that even if you are opposed to the facts about climate change – you would at least have the intelligence to go and listen – but listening is not what ms palin does – she talks and talks and talks – just like beck and rush and cheney

ms palin reminds of this quote everytime she opens her mouth –
    "It is a tale
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,
    Signifying nothing."

Only in America such an idiot can speak so loudly every single day and capture the attention of the media.!!!

I can't stand Palin! And those of you who do – open your eyes!! She's extremely unintelligent and closed minded. How can you like her? She doesn't even support a woman's right to choose. She thinks she has internationally relations because she is "neighbors" with Russia. Seriously?! She's as stupid as they come. The last thing this country needs is another conservative to mess it up and make the rich even richer which kicking the rest of the nation aside.

I guess he shouldn't go then because she has so much credibility.
To undermine her wishes will have devestating consequences.

CNN why oh why do you feel her opinion is newsworthy on anything.
She is not intelligent enough to understand the implications of Global
    Warming.

Just because she knows how to put words together to make it sound like she knows what she is talking about doesn't mean she knows what she it talking about. She is continuing with the same old republican strategy that if you say it repeatedly it will be true.

Do not apologize Harry Reid for your slavery comment. I am an AA and I understood your point.

I get scared when the Republican Party comes to an AA defense, watch out your pocket is being picked!

How proud Republicans must be having Cheney, Palin, Lumbaugh and other Beck speak for them. Four looneys and liars all. The Republican Party used to be a party of people with a wide variety of viewpoints and intelligence. Now, the most radical right members are the spokespersons and each will say anything against anyone disagreeing with their radical views and pronuncements. I suspect they are not far off in their actions and speech from those in power in Iran. If your not 100% in agreement you are their enemy. Rather than help clean up the messes that the Republicans got us into they refuse to participate and instead do whatever they can to try to discredit Obama and the Democrats, even if that means hurting America and Americans. The Republican Party and its right wing members are the biggest threat to America and Americans.

Your news article said, "At the vice presidential debate last year, Palin said she was for capping carbon emissions but did not elaborate on how she would do that."

She probably figured that an old bottle cap from a two liter bottle of Pepsi or Coke would do it but she could not decide which one to use. I hope this idiot boycotts this event. She should boycott it because if she attends then she would be a minority there and while GOD is pleased that this idiot is a minority she would feel out of place being a minority.

Sarah why don't you try explaining to the people in Alaska who's homes are falling into the ocean due to climate change? I'm sure they will be just thrilled to hear your ignorance. My question is, what secret agenda do you "think" people have hear? Why is this partisan? Is it because AL gore is a voice in this? It makes no sense. Cap and trade in indeed a GOP idea. Climate change is real. take a look around. I kinda like living on earth and having it devastated by man made destruction. People that think God is running the show and man couldn't possible be a contributer have no place in the discussion.

In other news, supporters of Palin have called for her to boycott reason and logic, but she advised to them she boycotted those years ago for political purposes.

I am 100% with Ms. Palin but, she does not seem to understand that barack obama is the "radical environmental movement" and all other radicals. He is the head radical, the radical in chief. The savior of the planet. He has even had the audacity to steal the spotlight from Al Gore(prince Albert of Carthage). But, Gore does not go down without a fight,
