Palin calls for Obama to boycott climate change conference

Palin is calling on President Obama to boycott the Copenhagen climate change conference next week.

(CNN) –Sarah Palin has taken to the Washington Post op-ed page to urge President Barack Obama to cancel his scheduled appearance at the Copenhagen climate change conference next week.

Referencing private e-mails from climate change scientists at a research facility in Britain that were hacked and published on the Internet late last month, Palin said now is not the time for the President to show his support for the "radical environmental movement."

"Instead of staying home from Copenhagen and sending a message that the United States will not be a party to fraudulent scientific practices, the president has upped the ante, Palin writes. "He plans to fly in at the climax of the conference in hopes of sealing a 'deal.' Whatever deal he gets, it will be no deal for the American people."

Palin added Obama's underlying political objective is to increase pressure on Congress to pass the Democrats "cap and trade" energy proposal that is expected to be debated early next year.

"This is a political move. The last thing America needs is misguided legislation that will raise taxes and cost jobs - particularly when the push for such legislation rests on agenda-driven science," writes Palin. "Without trustworthy science and with so much at stake, Americans should be wary about what comes out of this politicized conference. The president should boycott Copenhagen."

At the vice presidential debate last year, Palin said she was for capping carbon emissions but did not elaborate on how she would do that.

She also lashed out against the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History for displaying the bones of dinosaurs that everyone knows did not exist. Like global warming they are perfect examples of "false science" not mentioned in the Bible.

What does Sarah Palin know about science? She speaks like she knows a lot of science, and an expert, but she's not a scientist, and she never mixes around with any scientists at all, not even with the climate change skeptics! She just speaks out from context. There are over half of the Americans who believe in Climate Change, and less than half of the Americans who don't. Isn't it time to listen to the real half?

He won't boycott it of course. He wants to pledge more of our hard earned money to irresponsible 3rd world corrupt dictators so he can win another phone peace prize and be loved by the socialist euro-trash. That is our president, or the president of the unions and ACORN people that stole the election.

Palin makes stupidity into an art form...she has no idea that america makes up 5% of the worlds population yet more then 80% of the environmental damage and she wants to fuel up the engine an drive us right into a train crash..if there were 10,000 of her it would take more then 10,000 years to teach them to write shakespear...if she even believes we were around 10,000 years ago..she probably still thinks we were using dinosaurs like fred an barney.

If she had her way we would be all choking in the streets and shed have some excuse to go up on some space station to check it out for 20 years..the biggest reason republicans could have a great year next year (which I still doubt) is because they havnt got this fool or bush or cheney hanging on their coat tails

If the Newsweek article was not enough...this woman has proved again that she is clearly unstable. Last year she was for capping carbon emissions and now it is unreliable, agenda driven science creating a hoax! I question whether Sarah Palin even understands herself. She is in dire need of a shrink in my opinion. Or at the least, she proves she is a hypocrite.

What is trustworthy science Sarah? The one which your father teaches as he is a science teacher!!! This woman is an idiot.

Climate change is inevitable, however, we don`t need to accelerate the process. If there is nothing to it, let`s just burn down all the trees, bring back hydrocarbons, pour on the coal and dump our garbage in the streams and rivers. --– How gullible and downright stupid some people are continues to amaze me.

Does Palin have a background in Science or Business or Economics ??? I wasn't aware that her degree in Fine Arts (emphasis in Broadcasting) requires much background in these VERY IMPORTANT studies. I am sure that her finishing this extremely difficult Major in only Seven years gives her plenty of qualifications to be the spokesperson for the GOP. Plus, having been govenor of Alaska with a population that is comparable to the City of Denver gives her a progressive view (from her back porch) that can assist in the future of this DIVERSIFIED nation. As a moderate GOPer I am so disguised that my party has been raided and controlled by splinter groups where dumb is better. I have voted Democratic in the last three elections...when will you give us a Republican choice again ??

Why would anyone especially our president listen to Sarah Palin about anything? She wants everyone to believe like her. She is an idiot, she is the most extreme of the extreme right, a hypocrite and couldn't hold a real conversation about climate change if she had to. The Republicans are always calling on the US to boycott things that we should be leading the fight for such as getting rid of land mines. She just needs to rake in her money, that's all she wants, let her have it. Keep her out of the government!!

Wonder how she draws her conclusion about the science of global warming, since she can't name any of her reading material. Since her book required a "ghost " writer, maybe her opinions also have a "ghost" source. Ever wonder who it is?

More yapping from the terrier-in-residence. She, or her writer, refer to hacked emails, some of which are a decade old, as proof that there is no global warming. She lives in Alaska, doesn't she? Can she not see melting ice caps from her house, or from her wolf helicopter? This is another attempt to pander to her base, and to slam the President. Gee, there is disagreement in the scientific community about many issues...this one happens to be real. But then, Palin never met a truthful statement she wasn't happy to contradict.
And Sarah, I'm sure that President Obama is just holding his breath waiting for your next piece of advice for him. You area nobody who is expert at marketing yourself. Period.

Palin says: Palin said now is not the time for the President to show his support for the "radical environmental movement." Yes, the environmental movement is so radical. Can't this fool see the polar ice caps melting from her window in Alaska. When she flies over her state with her gun aimed at the animals below, can't this cretin see what is happening environmentally? As far as "climategate" goes, let's hope there are not enough flat earthers out there, like Palin, who will continue to make a mountain out of a molehill.

If we are to use Ms. Palin as an example, then I suppose President Obama should just quit his job and go on a book tour.

The right wing is trying to take this email incident as evidence of a grand conspiracy about global warming. I just don't see how making our economy more energy efficient and producing our energy from renewable sources here at home costs us jobs. That would seem to create jobs, keep us from sending $400 billion a year abroad for our energy, and relieve us of having to worry about the crazy people who sell us the oil. Why is it that we should listen to anything Sarah Palin says?

Yeah, I'm going to trust Sarah Palin to judge the validity of any scientific research. Please.

It is a good move for her, though. It's meaningless to the rest of the world, but her base will eat it up, especially when Obama goes anyway.

But what she continues to fail to realize is that she will never get anywhere as long as she only appeals to her base.

I am a biologist. My field of specialty is ecology. This woman has no business whatsoever deciding, or even commenting, on what science is "good, non agenda-driven" and what science is "bad." I'm not saying she doesn't have the right to comment, I am saying she is not even remotely close to being qualified to do so. I am 100% certain that she couldn't grasp an ABSTRACT at the beginning of a piece of published scientific research literature, much less read and comprehend the entire thing. By her statements, she clearly has no concept of basic chemistry and physics. She is stupid, and it is time CNN stopped covering her.
