Palin calls for Obama to boycott climate change conference

Palin is calling on President Obama to boycott the Copenhagen climate change conference next week.

(CNN) –Sarah Palin has taken to the Washington Post op-ed page to urge President Barack Obama to cancel his scheduled appearance at the Copenhagen climate change conference next week.

Referencing private e-mails from climate change scientists at a research facility in Britain that were hacked and published on the Internet late last month, Palin said now is not the time for the President to show his support for the "radical environmental movement."

"Instead of staying home from Copenhagen and sending a message that the United States will not be a party to fraudulent scientific practices, the president has upped the ante, Palin writes. "He plans to fly in at the climax of the conference in hopes of sealing a 'deal.' Whatever deal he gets, it will be no deal for the American people."

Palin added Obama's underlying political objective is to increase pressure on Congress to pass the Democrats "cap and trade" energy proposal that is expected to be debated early next year.

"This is a political move. The last thing America needs is misguided legislation that will raise taxes and cost jobs - particularly when the push for such legislation rests on agenda-driven science," writes Palin. "Without trustworthy science and with so much at stake, Americans should be wary about what comes out of this politicized conference. The president should boycott Copenhagen."

At the vice presidential debate last year, Palin said she was for capping carbon emissions but did not elaborate on how she would do that.

This from the woman who during the campaign said that the Earth is 6000 years old and there are fossil dinsaur tracks with human footprints within them?! Since when is she science literate?

During the election, all the pundits never exposed Obama for the fraud he is. This climate change thing will only HURT jobs and manufacturing here in America.
Now Obama says he wants to "spend" our way out of the recession. What a ridiculous notion, when we are trillions in debt. Obama should resign.

I would really like it if Ms. Palin would stop telling the media what the American people want. I for one, do not care if emails about climate change had blatant lies in them or not. We have a responsibility to preserve this world the best we possibly can for our future generations; regardless of whether or not we are causing the change in climate.

Sarah Palin is a Dick Cheney impersonater. She mimmics Chaney's outlandish criticizism of President Obama at every turn. It's a wonder that she hasn't criticized the President about the way he brushes his teeth. All Palin has done is figured out that everytime she says something critical of the President or Huckebee or anyone else in the public eye, it will translate into another opportunity for her to make money, because some bozo news outlet or other media will pay her for the opportunity to hear more of her garbage comments. Why? Because they sell commercials, magazines, papers and books. She's a scum capitalist – making a fortune off of being a scum.

Back in the 70's the climate change nuts were telling us we're heading into another Ice Age soon. Today it's Global Warming now called Climate Change since each time Al Gore would speak on the subject, we would have the worst winter storms of the year...like what we're having right now across the country.

So why would our industry have to suffer carbon cuts, higher taxes and job losses while China, India and the rest of the Third world countriess get a pass? So the likes of a few climate scientists and leftist politicians bring this nation down to a Third World status. As for Cap and Trade, it's nothing more than another huge tax scheme based on a hoax so to pick our wallets.

Sarah Palin wouldn't know "trustworthy science" if it bit her on the behind. It's so galling to hear her make bold statements about things she knows nothing about.

This lady is too stupid to know what a legitimate scientific practice is. In fact, the GOP has a long and aggressive history of abhorring science irrespective of content. Science is too complicated and nuanced for the simple black & white world they want. And besides, their own 'science' is so laughably juvenile it's a wonder any of them can stand up and repeat it in public.

I bet she hasn't read those leaked emails or the analyses they reference, neither does she have the benefit of the conclusions to be made by the group of experts who are doing just that. In her typical rush to judgement she views all climate research from her own perverse fantasy of a scientific community overrun with anti-business lefty radicals. Talk about judging another person by your own base standard!

I continue to be amazed at Mrs. Palin's dangerous lack of understanding the facts before speaking. The science has not been compromised. The report in question was published in the International Climate Change report. If you look out your window in Alaska, you will not only see Russia, but see the complete disappearance of the Arctic ice during the summer. MMMMM Maybe it is really due to all the hot air you are spreading!!

Palin is an alien, she is from some other planet and has been sent here to run an experiment

we are all lab rats and she is taking notes on how her chaos effects our earth community, (like bees or ants)

Palin, after all the nonsense and lies you said about Obama you are 'urging' him to not do something?

Socially you are a dense human being

On the environment, we have to move beyond "the American people", and look at what is good for life on this planet.

To do nothing now, would be disastrous in 40 yrs. To do what little we will likely do......is inadequate enough.

We need a world wide moratorium on population growth.......and we needed it 30 yrs. ago. If it doesn't happen by 2030, we likely will pass the point of no return, on environment.

Science is in on global warming. It's happening and it is being caused by humans. When will the science come in on Sarah Palin? Like others in the republican party, she would rather see legislation fail than progress be made.
