Washington (CNN) – Outspoken Rep. Alan Grayson has a message for blunt-speaking former Vice President Dick Cheney: stop talking.
Responding to the former VP’s criticism of President Obama’s national security policy, including his decision to try accused 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed in civilian court, the Florida Democrat lapsed into Web-speak.
“You know, on the internet there's an acronym that's used to apply to situations like this. It's called ‘STFU,’” Grayson said on MSNBC’s Hardball. “I don't think I can say that on the air, but I think you know what that means.” The letters are an acronym for “shut the f*** up.”
Cheney has been a vocal critic of the president’s policies, telling Fox News earlier this week that the extended decision-making process on Afghanistan “feeds into sort of the basic al Qaeda strategy” by fueling a sense of uncertainty on the future direction of U.S. involvement.

Good for Representative Grayson. It's about time somebody told Cheney off. Cheney who would not serve his country, Cheney who helped start an illegal war and get away with getting Haliburton lucreative contracts and make about a zillion dollars, Cheney who ignored the constitution at every turn. I wish there were more dems that had the grit to stand up and tell Cheney he's not in politics anymore and does not have access to any security information anymore to shut up.

His hard times in the Bronx does not impress me, because like myself and many others who had it harder in life, and fought a war for which we where abused, does not make him a champion. Maybe if he put his politics aside and started realizing that if we don't stop the enemy on their turf, they will be here sooner than you think. In fact we just had a terrorist attack at Fort Hood and this ignorant administration still refuses to acknowledge the terrorest are on our soil and are going to get active.

I agree that Dick should go back to his death star in Wyoming, but at the same time, Grayson should probably have chosen more...intellectual words. Grayson did not act in a very professional way and, as an aspiring political-activist at age 18, I was dismayed to see this story (although I agree completely with what he said).

You are exactly correct Representative Grayson. And I believe I have finally figured out why Cheney is spending so much time on this. The problem for him is that in the last two years of Bush's administration, Cheney and his views had lost all credibility and value. He fell out of favor, no one listened to him, and now he's trying to save his reputation. So this is really not against President Obama or defending Bush – it's defending himself and his own legacy. That's what's bugging him.
Cheney is a bitter old man who knows he will go down in history as one of the worst VP's of all time. He's horrible for this country.
While the use of 'STFU' might be a bit uncouth, I couldn't agree with Grayson more. Cheney had his time to be vocal and run the country. If he wants to make his presence known in politics again, he should run for some public office. Like Palin, if he plans to be retired, he should shut up and just enjoy being a private citizen.

Dick Cheney saying anything on foreign or domestic policy is like asking the Detroit Lions advice on how to win the Super Bowl, let alone a game. He's all about making money for himself and a few cronies, even if it means sinking this country into a Depression. Now if someone would say that to his face on live TV, that would be worth something.
Cheney should be able to understand that message, since he told an opponent to go copulate with himself. This man should join the Dan Quayle club disappear from public view.
