WAIT---where is all of the outrage about Obama advancing the war in Afghanistan--just like the outrage that was seen/heard against Bush.

So, somehow now war is okay---because Obama said that it is necessary, not Bush??

Obama and the Democrats that are now in power/control are a joke--and the state run media sources who provide excuses/cover/support for them are a joke as well.

Wonderful speech by the President. Peace is something that the opponents of it know that can not be gained easily. Just take a look at the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. I think thepresidnt hit the nail right on the head.

With President Obumbles accepting of the Nobel prize he has show us all that as far as in the minds of some touchy-feely, namby pamby Norsemen, one only needs to speak of grand ideas, one does not actually have to do anything.

It'll be interesting 5 years from now as we're looking back on the fact that this guy was truly all talk and no action. No wait, sorry, no positive action. He's already shown he's capable of doing a lot to ruin America.

Obama's trip to Oslo has to be one of the more embarrassing moments in modern US history.

Of course war is sometimes needed, to feed the Military Industral Complex Eisenhower warned of, and the corporations that profit from it. That's also why health care reform is needed, to keep increasing the profits of the big pharma and insurance. If we learned nothing else in the last few months, we learned that Congress is a wholly owned subsidiary of corporate America, and their job is to keep those profits rolling in, at all costs. We the people be darned.

Look CNN, War is NEVER needed – WAR is about killing people – innocent people – and destroying forever the lives of those that remain.

    END WARS NOW.

How ironic that Obama is receiving a Peace Prize when he's sending ANOTHER 30,000+ young men and women to their deaths. He should be ashamed of himself. I've lost faith in him.

If Bush and the Republicans had not gone into Iraq we would not be in a war now in Afghanistan. Seems to me some have very short memories or they want to forget how we got into all our messes. A quick reminder: Bush/Chaney/Rice/Rumsfeld/give away of Clinton's surplus to the rich/no way to pay for any war/Republicans not holding bush to be accountable are just a few reason we are in the messes we are in now.

No to any more Republicans in 2010/2012. Vote for only true Democrats or Independents.

President Obama struggles with war was apparent in this speech...and that's a good thing. I love that he is constantly thinking of ways to avoid war, but understands the necessity of it. This is why he won the prize. Good job Mr. President!

What is that goon John Roberts doing on that panel of great minds like Ms Amanpour. He is just a Reagan genuflector. There was no praise in Obama's speech or receiving the Nobel peace prize, only "controversy" about his handling of the Jewish/Palistinian conflict. Then, "controversy" over global warming. He should be on Fox news. And, that Kiran always looks like he's giving her the heebie-jeebies.

SICK – only in America can you get a prize ( ??? Peace prize ??) for what – doing nothing BUT being a minority and getting to be president? Sick.
We have intelligent GOOD people ALL OVER this earth WHO do GOOD, who are WORTHY and who MAKE A DIFFERENCE for the betterment of ALL people. NOT JUST FOR THEMSELVES. These are the people WHO should be receiving PRIZES. We have Doctors, Scientists, humanitarians, peace keepers, every day citizens of the world, GOD fearing people WHO are very deserving.
    This is SICK SICK SICK

Interesting, though, that there don't seem to be those mass anti-war marches on Washington DC that the left seemed to hold every other week during the last administration.

Obama needs to show WHY he got the Nobel Prize, maybe because he is a lier and a traitor to America.

Sure we need a WAR. It seems the ONLY way we have to a going economy. Everybody makes money during a WAR. Especially the POLITICIANS. ALL politicians from the VERY TOP on down to the lowliest city politician. "If I make money you will benefit" seems to be the case. If there is NO WAR – Just WHAT do ALL the politicians have to do ? They have to have causes to divert the TAX PAYERS attention from their GREED. They have to have some way of padding their pockets. The "PARTY" is of no consequence here – they are all cut of the same cloth – GREED. I don't believe an HONEST POLITICIAN exhists. If there was ONE he/she wouldn't LAST LONG. You can't buck the {greed} system in American Politics. That's a FACT.

Barry ordered his Commanders in Afghanistan to have the troops march in backwards so to give the appearance that we are leaving. This way the liberal won’t get peeved at him.

As global warming begets global cooling, war begets peace. Just ask the Nobel winner now making a case for war.

The world has turned upside down.

President Obama is right... We live in a dangerous world and sometimes there should be a responsible war to enforce discipline among some religious extremists. It's unfortunate that Bush/Cheney lied to America and the world and invaded Irag for there own selfish interest. It was because of the Irag war that made people to downplay the importants of Afghanistan war.
