Washington (CNN) - Computer technicians have recovered about 22 million Bush administration e-mails that the Bush White House had said were missing, two watchdog groups that sued over the documents announced Monday.
The e-mails date from 2003 to 2005, and had been "mislabeled and effectively lost," according to the National Security Archive, a research group based at George Washington University. But Melanie Sloan, executive director of the liberal-leaning Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW), said it could be years before most of the e-mails are made public.
"The e-mails themselves are not what we're getting," Sloan said.
its about time. bush and cheanny need to be held accountable.
Clinton fired all the Federal Prosecutors, including the one who was investigating him and Hillary for WhiteWater and replaced the Arkansas one with a close friend.
this sounds like something very important to be workin on with 10% unemployment.
Wait till all the crookedness really comes out!!! Bush/Cheney were the Axis of Evil themselves........history will prove them the worst administration in our history, and these emails will begin to build the case...
This is wonderful. These computer files were never lost, they were just hidden by the criminal GWBush administration. Happily, they have been recovered, and now the investigations of their crimes in office can begin. Let's hope we see lots of former Republican White House officials in prison soon.
now when the Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics sues you and me, where will the money go if they win.
OH HAPPY DAYS!! I'm am so looking forward to hearing about what's in these emails. Cheney, Bush, Rove, Rumsfeld: You can run and hide, but you can't run and hide forever. Time to see what they were really up to.
GW BUSH and the "LIARS CLUB" of 00/08.
This should be interesting.
We have a right to know what Bush and Cheney were up to. The WORLD has a right to know what the terrorists (Bush and Cheney) were up to, as well as their minions.
What lies were we told? If we were lied to, we DESERVE to know, so that never again will we trust a republican, let alone a dumb republican (ok, that's all of them).
Let's keep living in the past and keep bashing Bush. Get over it!!!! Bush is not president. We need to focus on the idiot Obummie and his ignorant lot. Our economy is in the toilet and he is asking for socialist policies that will bury our grandchildren in debt. Most don't care as they don't pay taxes anyway!!!!!
I see the Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington are still on the hate Bush agenda. Hope they investigate the uhbozo administration next. They probably won't, as they are as stupid as he is.
boo ya, lets see em.
It's not new its the "Jr and The GOP's"!
Fine, and when they comb through those, take a look also at anything related to the present White House firing of Inspector General Walpin as he got too close for their comfort into their crony Kevin Johnson's problems.
He is now being vindicated for this political firing and we will all be hearing more about this from CNN and other media, one can only hope.
Oh! Oh! This should be interesting. Maybe we can finally put darth vader where he belongs . . . . . in jail!!!
The plot thickens – we do hope!!!
Aside from the contents of these emails, it'll be very interesting to discover who 'mis-labeled' these emails in the first place. With so many unknowns, this just reeks of a cover-up.
There was very little in the previous administration that I supported, but let's hope that there isn't anything near what would be considered ground for treason! As much as I loathed the Bush/Cheney era, I hope for the country's sake, there isn't anything that would embarras the American public.
As if we needed more proof of Bush/Cheney treason, I'll bet there's lots of it in those emails.
Start reading. Start prosecuting. I want to see these guys pay for what they did to my country before I die.
Maybe the truth will come out now. The years 2003 – 2005 are when many of the worst misdeeds of the Bush Administration occurred, from the invasion of Iraq to the firing of the federal prosecutors to the outing of Valerie Plame to the Abu Ghraib attrocities. These emails may well shed some light on who knew what and when and maybe some indictments will come out of them.
I am shocked! Shocked! The administration that re-wrote the handbook on how to combine INCOMPETENCE with CORRUPTION somehow lost a bunch of damaging e-mails? Wait a minute, I think I've found one of those weapons of mass distraction.......
I can't wait to HEAR Dick Cheney's his own back-stabbing words.
I'm sure he'll blame President Obama for all the emails calling them a threat to "national security." Dick Cheney IS the threat to our national security, the man can't seem to shut up.
What will the DOJ be doing with this new evidence?
Can we PLEASE have some investigations?
More lies from HRH King George II and the court jester, Dick.
Of course, it would take someone tech savvy to retrieve the "lost" emails this should not shock anyone.
Afterall, the Greedy Old People, just upgraded their communication system from carrier pigeons to the Pony Express, since they are against any change.
I am sure there will be right wing outrage in just a minute that this another liberal conspiracy to make the former president and his faithful v.p. companion in crime, look worse.
By the way, why is it that the bithers, deathers, tax cuts for the wealthy, anti union right wingnuts think they are so much smarter than Wall Street and the Banking industry who seem to think that the worst is over for the economy?
Here are 2 certainties: no one in the Bush administration will ever be prosecuted even if the evidence is blatantly there. And 2, give it a week or two but ol' Cheney will come rolling out to Fox News demanding that they be kept secret.
One of these decades, hopefully we'll start acting like a republic democracy with a government that obeys its own laws and not like a football game that Americans treat it as today.
