I must say that VA is the model for which the rest of the country needs to follow. All of these initiatives that the President is suggesting is already taking effect in VA. We have a Canon plant and a few others around the state that are powered strictly by solar panels. It's the way of the future.

They laughed at him for saying we should inflate our tires, even though he was absolutely right and that does help your gas mileage. They'll laugh at him for this, too.
Because they're fools. They've never been right about anything. Remember, they elected George W. Bush, after all... and if that's not proof of foolishness, what is?

Talk about dumbing down America, this is doing nothing to advance jobs or real savings. The persons who need these services are already getting them at the local level of governments and housing programs. Another give away for persons to cut their taxes which means they could afford to do this in the first place.

This is his big hand that he is playing? If you don't know what I'm referring to, just Google 'Obama tip his hand weatherization'. Jon Stewart did a hilarious bit on that. Why doesn't he just tell us (again) to 'inflate your tires'. Tool Academy indeed!
Having been around when Carter was Prez, the thing that scares the bejeezus outta me is that Carter was an ineffectual President because he did NOTHING and we still lived under sky high interest rates right up there with high inflation and unemployment...a trifecta that only the DemonRats are able to pull off. Oops! Jeez, I forgot to mention the outright theft of income tax rates, too! Check it out if you don't believe me...Hmmmm...the gov't took 50% of your income once it reached 47k! And then then 70% once it got to 203k!
Now, 30 years later, we've got a Prez who is doing EVERYTHING in his power to upset the apple cart called capitalism and that is what will destroy us as nation.
We are soooooo screwed!

He is correct on this one, but is he sincere? So many cannot afford to do these upgrades. I think the wages paid to presently employed folks in these fields need to be lowered OR their labor time speeded up to get the job done quicker without milking the funds! This is not the fault of UNIONS, but the basic fault of a greedy system that does not wish to pay fair wages to so many who work very hard!
Now if the Congress will Regulate Big Business – Again – We can then get Wages up to a liveable standard. In this equation Everyone Wins and nobody must Lose! Were these short-sighted types to see the simple wisdom of these facts, we'd not be having to endure this suffering inflicted upon us by Wall Street.
Since Obama appointed NOTHING but "Shock Doctors" from Wall Street and we see so few Results yet, I am concerned that he is really one of them in the End. We shall see, won't we? See this movie: "Capitalism: A Love Story" to get the "picture" in living color! I am not encouraged right now as Congress is bought mostly. My apologies to some who are NOT! Peace

Energy savings really can't be compared to sexiness...or at least I hope not.

Anything that reduces our dependence on fossil fuels helps to reduce our dependence on foreign dictators who don't like us very much, and that's a good thing for most Americans (oil company CEOs, board members and major investors being the exception). Fostering energy independence is a very smart long-term move by Obama. I can't understand why anybody would be against it, unless they are so partisan that they would cut off their own noses to spite their own faces.

Insulation is alot sexier than Obama's economic stimulus plan. Is anybody really listening?? Do you hear what his plan is?? It's a plan to take care of government employees ... and ... a plan to create ... not jobs ... "green" jobs. Jobs that might be created if America turns to untried, untested, and unsustainable markets. They may be created ... Oh ... in about a year (his words not mine). We are not getting any jobs with this plan. Is there anyone with any guts in Washington who will stand up to this eloquent thug and tell him that this is a plan for sustained economic quagmire. Do we have any economic leaders left in this country??? Hello!!!

I think President Obama is skipping over the point that millions of American's have recently LOST their homes. Its entirely self-serving to skip that point, to move past all of those millions of former home owners to touch on some green message.
President Obama needs to focus on helping millions of households that have lost their homes, instead of focusing on those that are much better off during the worst economic upheaval since the great depression.
