Schwarzenegger slams Palin

California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger is questioning the motives of a felllow Republican, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.

(CNN) - California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger – who has backed strict new emissions controls to combat climate change – made a comment Tuesday that's sure to raise some heat, especially in GOP circles.

The Republican governor of California is questioning the motives of a high-profile opponent of the idea: Sarah Palin.

The former Republican vice presidential nominee and former Alaska governor has questioned whether human activity contributes to climate change, and written op-eds blasting the cap and trade policy promoted by the Obama administration to limit emissions. Last week, she called on President Obama to boycott the Copenhagen conference.

"You have to ask: what was she trying to accomplish?" Schwarzenegger, in Copenhagen for the international climate change summit, told the Financial Times. "Is she really interested in this subject or is she interested in her career and in winning the (Republican presidential) nomination? You have to take all these things with a grain of salt."

Palin, dubbed a climate change "denier" by Al Gore, slammed the former vice president for promoting "doomsday scenarios": "Climate change is like gravity – a naturally occurring phenomenon that existed long before, and will exist long after, any governmental attempts to affect it," she wrote in a Facebook post last week.

yeah right... maybe our rivers are 'naturally' contaminated with mercury, acid rain is sort of like lemonade, and the hole in the ozone was 'just a fad' . maybe she ate too one too many wild salmon and that heavy metal got to her brain. some people will deny whatever doesn't suit their interests.

Anyone who listen to Sarah Palin is just as dumb as she is. An airhead without a brain or did she loose it before the election. Dumb statement from her is like a river flowing uphill.

I would never wish harm on another human being no matter how ignorant, selfish, or pig-headed he or she might be, but Sarah does need some sense knocked into her. In a way, it's too bad "slams" couldn't be taken more literally...

Hey Arnold, why don't you go try to ACCOMPLISH something in CA? I think Palin's accomplishments in AK put you to shame. You could learn a thing or two from her.

When will the news media stop covering this crazy woman??? Where does she come up with this stuff.

How comforting to know that the future of the planet has come down to sound bites between Schwartzenegger and Palin

Here's the issue. By the sheer volume of airborne waste we're creating, we're doing something to the atmosphere. It's like we're the volcano but in slow motion. We know that volcanic activity adversely affects the quality of the balance of gases in the atmosphere, and not
repeat not in our favor. So the bottom line is, if we guess we're not adversely affecting the planet atmosphere and we're wrong ...we're dead. If we do something and take balanced but continued and effective action towards cleaning up the power generating and usage and we're wrong then, no harm done. All this extreme talk is meant to polarize us (left and right), don't let them do it.
    right?

Of course anyone who does not "get on the bandwagon" with global warming is going to take the heat. And Al Gore? Please.....the guy is a fruitcake.

Palin talks just to hear her empty head rattle. The woman is dumber than dirt. It almost funny that anyone would believe anything this uneducated moron says, but there are some really stupid people out there. You have to wonder about them. To old and stupid to know better.

People confuse climate and weather. Weather changes day by day and depending on the season. Climate is the temperature, humidity, and precipitation of a place over a long period of time. So, observing that it is snowing in December has no bearing on the issue. You have to look at the long term trajectory. For example, if the average temperature in NC in December was 40 F in 1950, 42 in 1960, 44 in 1970, 48 in 1980, 50 in 1990, 52 in 2000 and 55 in 2009 – it doesn't matter that it happened to be 40F today (that's the weather, not the climate).

Gravity? Don't Republicans and Palin-ites dismiss all science as "Liberal Nonsense"?

Mankind has contributed to everything bad in the world today..
wars, terrorism, greed, deforestation, overfishing, killing
of some animals to near extinction, why would someone think
we haven't contributed to climate change.

Why does anyone give Palin the attention she gets? GOP or not, there are far more qualified people to discuss the topic than her. If she's the GOP nomination for 2012, then they clearly want to lose. They don't want to seal that fate, so she'll never be nominated. So, why even suggest that's possible? Everyone should ignore this kooky idiot.

Sarah Palin is a moron. She absolutely does not know very much about ANY issue that affects our country and the world. By the way, where is her (?) special needs child? For someone with all those morals and high family values, she hasn't been seen with her child for some time. She will be flaunting the child if she decides to run for President.........you betcha!

Global warming is just like gravity. Huh. They didn't cover that connection in my physics class. Must have been taught by some idiot with a PhD in physics.

I should taken a Biblical Physics course on-line from Oral Roberts Univ....like Palin. Then I'd know how Time can go backward (at least, Republicans certainly hope it can) and how the Earth can occasionally rotate in reverse.

Jay said, "Go Arnold! At least one republican has a brain!" But

Arnold's not a real Republican. For one thing, he's a foreigner...like Obama. He's not a true American. Panama John McCain, now there's a real American.

If it was any other Republican, i would fear for their lives. The Palin Supporters get very angry when other Republicans don't bow down and kiss the ground she walks on, not to mention they love their guns.

But since it's the Govenator, I expect to see his next movie be a real life expose on him dodging crazy right wingers out for blood. Great entertainment, especially if Tina Fey plays Sarah Palin.

On the real, good job Arnold, it's about time someone in the Republican Party actually questioned her majesty Sarah Palin.

Two things must be remembered about this subject. By reducing carbon ouput(and reducing global warning), there are two good byproducts.
    1. Less oil imported from the middle east.
    2. Less pollution from coal, etc. Last I read, all fish in the US now contain some mercury due to coal burning.

The above items are worth the carbon reduction efforts to me, global warming or not.
