(CNN) - California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger – who has backed strict new emissions controls to combat climate change – made a comment Tuesday that's sure to raise some heat, especially in GOP circles.
The Republican governor of California is questioning the motives of a high-profile opponent of the idea: Sarah Palin.
The former Republican vice presidential nominee and former Alaska governor has questioned whether human activity contributes to climate change, and written op-eds blasting the cap and trade policy promoted by the Obama administration to limit emissions. Last week, she called on President Obama to boycott the Copenhagen conference.
"You have to ask: what was she trying to accomplish?" Schwarzenegger, in Copenhagen for the international climate change summit, told the Financial Times. "Is she really interested in this subject or is she interested in her career and in winning the (Republican presidential) nomination? You have to take all these things with a grain of salt."
Palin, dubbed a climate change "denier" by Al Gore, slammed the former vice president for promoting "doomsday scenarios": "Climate change is like gravity – a naturally occurring phenomenon that existed long before, and will exist long after, any governmental attempts to affect it," she wrote in a Facebook post last week.

The sad thing is that so many republicans are rallying around her like she's some kind of savior. I suppose that's their right but when will they realize she's damaged goods.

For the warmers to deny the evidence of the East Anglia cooking of the books to support global warming is astounding. Al Gore, "the center core of the earth is millions of degrees." Most students learn by the fifth grade that the core of the earth is thousands, not millions of degrees. Al Gore, "the latest scientific evidence is that there is a 75% chance that the summer ice will be completely gone within the next five years." Even the warming scientists immediately debunked this. Think what the outcry would be if Palin had made these stupid statements. Yet, Arnold and the rabid warmers wait with abated breath for their Oscar winng climate guru Gore to speak again.
Sarah Palin is a joke. Arnold is spot on in his questioning of this woman's motives. She most likely does not know much of climate change. All she is interested in is selling her book. Best seller OMG. Scary to think that some people in this country actually believe Palin is qualified to lead this nation? Are you kidding me? Blame the folks who ill-advised John McCain to make this moron with lipstick his "running mate". Sarah Palin will be the laughing stock of most of this country soon enough. All this woman has to do is keep talking and making stupid comments. Her ignorance will shine on through. Poor Palin. It says a lot that for the last month this 'news' network won't cover the climategate fraud exposition but never hesitates to make it headlines when somebody has anything negative to say about Sarah Palin. Anyone wanting real news coverage should look elsewhere.

'gravity – a naturally occurring phenomenon' and mankind can affect that too. Make gravity felt less or more by artificial means. No one I know is stating that global warming/cooling does not happen in cycles naturally. The question is to what degree is mankind speeding up that affect 'UNNATURALLY'
Humans are relatively newcomers to this planet. The planet is not what needs saving is it human's ability to survive on this planet.

Anything said by Arnold should be taken with a grain of salt. I wouldn't trust anything from a governor of a state so deep in debt. He should stick to bringing California out of the dump instead of TRYING to be relative to what's going around now.
