I guess that proves Landrieu is an honest politician–once bought with a $300 million bribe, she stays bought.

To Beverly in NC–have you seen any recent polls concerning the 2010 election? Guess not, if you believe the GOP will get beat. Anyone who votes for this bill will be kicked out of office. 56% of Americans are not OPPOSED to it!! Do the math!

"Since when did the needs of the few out weigh the needs of the many ? Especially the needs of the many that are working and strive to maintain their self sufficiency."

That happened on the day that America was convinced by Reagan and his Repblican party to believe that if we'd all just do whatever we can to help the small percentage of us who are rich get even richer, they'd for some reason deny human nature and not seek to consolidate and hoarde all their wealth and power....including the additional wealth and power afforded them through tax cuts, etc...and by their benevolence and good nature, we'd all magically benefit by them acquiring more wealth and power. That's the day when the "needs" of the few started outweighing the needs of the many.

As for self-sufficiency...perhaps had that economic model been remotely related to reality, average middle-class salaries would have at least matched inflation, not lagged behind it, the past 3 decades...but, unfortunately, reality and human nature being what they are, the rich kept what we gave them. Imagine that. There is no economic gravity: what goes up, does NOT come down.

As long as I keep seeing people make ignorant remarks about socialism (Riskster, I'm talking to you) I'm going to keep making comments like this one...

All forms of insurance function on socialistic principals because they work from transfers of wealth. To eliminate socialism would elimante all forms of insurance and we would then have to bare the full costs of what we are insuring against.

Police stations, fire stations, the military, and roads all function on socialistic principals, not capitalistic principals. And I guarantee you we all want it to stay that way.

  14. Enough! Reconcilliation NOW.

According to statistics released today by the Center for Disease Control & Prevention 20% of Americans (that's about 60 million people) lost their health insurance in 2008! So, yes we'll take Ms. Landrieu's vote to get health insurance reform passed.

Anyone who argues or acknowledges her ignorance (of just about everything) only validates that she even makes an argument… then on the other hand she is the “future” of the Republican party… 🙂

    Hilarious. GOp gameplan:

    1. Conduct massive fear-mongering misinformation campaign regarding the portions of the reform bill that would actually be effective.

    2. Get fellow self-centered congresspeople from both parties to fight until those provisions are removed.

    3. Claim what is left is ineffective garbage, because it is, but ignore that it's yor own fault, instead pointing fingers at the Dems.

    4. Profit?

Newsflash: Taking the Dems down with you is not a positive in your column. You still both went down in flames...and now the rest of us are lined up to join you. Just remember to thank your GOP congress people in 2019 or so when you can't even get a flu shot or a physical.

I see we still have some retards that don't like Socialist programs, yet those same little morons refuse to give up their medicare, social security, military, police departments, highways and fire departments.

Stop listening to the fatally retarded (aka republicans). Pass the bill, to include a single payer system and a 55 medicare enrollment via the Reconciliation process. The little domestic terrorists (aka republicans) can go ahead and not like it. The little dirt bags have screwed up our country for FAR too long, time for us to stop listening to their moronic failed policies.

How can she now look at her self in the mirror now that she has been bought, no differant than a common HOOKER, pay me and you get what you want, And the sad thing is Odumbo is the pimp paying her!

We have to get these people out of office, this is not right.

If the money keeps going to the dems state's we wont have anything for health care reform. Look at Illinois, look what Odumbo keeps doing for them. Sad, very sad.
