NASA predicts that the next Solar flare to hit earth will potentially wipe out/fry every electrical grid on earth. Well, we may not have electricity for nearly a decade, but at least we won't have to worry about our government going to hell, either. So I'm actually looking forward to Dec. 21, 2012.

Maybe the Dems should use reconciliation to pass whatever bill they want. Heck, why not just declare a law that only liberal Democrats are allowed to vote. They were the only ones who were allowed to shape the bill to start with. The thing is, you better hurry up because the 2010 election is coming fast, so your window of opportunity is very limited.

$300 million is a lot to lose if she votes "the wrong way."
why is bribery illegal everywhere except the government?
too much corruption in our political processes and leaders.

@gt... the reasons we in Canada have health care is because you provide our security?..... The Canadian military, although much smaller than yours, did go to Afghanistan to fight the "right war". They were there from the beginning, stayed there when your former President took off for another fight, and are still there fighting in the most violent part of Afghanistan. We mourn our dead as you do, and we also mourn yours. Any security afforded us by your military is reciprocal ... and because our our geography protects America as a whole. We are your northern selves!

Well its nice to see that Sen Landrieu stays bought. And to think that the Louisana purchase 2009 only cost $300 million, or at least that's all we know about right now. $300 million and Sen Landrieu is willing to betray her state and saddle the U.S. with triillions and trillions in corrupt spending and debt, and millions of lost job. That's a real deal!

It's so lovely to read these hateful Republican comments day after day. Do you people not care a whit about your fellow Americans? What will happen to YOU should you lose your job or get very ill? Will your health care continue...will your employer stand by you? If you really think that this is about lazy Democrats wanting a handout, I really feel sorry for you. The Constitution itself says that the government exists to "promote the general welfare." I realize you think that means provide you with all the assault weapons you want, but it means a bit more than that. Growing up is tough, but everyone should do it eventually.

How about the public option when it comes up as a budgetary measure? Oh, wait.. never mind.. we will not need her vote... all we will need is 51. With legislation to attach the public option to... health reform will become a reality. If the senate lacks the will to revisit the bill in the next 3 years... I doubt the base will support Obama with the same amount of enthusiasm as the 2009 election. I'm a huge Obama fan... and I admire his t1000 drive that allows him to reach his objective like a high-bred terminator.. no matter how knee capped he is.. no matter what they throw at him... he reaches his goal. It's beautiful to watch... but he needs to understand that the bill is not finished. I trust he knows that... but I'm not so sure either...
    Time will tell.

Does congress realize we are broke? We have to stop borrowing and spending. We have to stop over taxing hard working people to give free stuff (food, housing, healthcare) to lazy people. As a matter of our national survival WE DO NOT HAVE ANY MONEY TO SPEND ON HEALTHCARE....Frankly, it doesn't matter if you want more government subsidy or a public option or even socialized medicine....THE FACT IS WE CANNOT AFFORD IT. STOP OVERSPENDING!!!!!!! We need a 3rd party, a fically responsible 3rd party. STOP HEALTHCARE REFORM NOW!!!!!!

With open arms and legs, this political prostitute will embrace and sign up to anything her party puts in front of her! She has absolutely no creditability or personal pride and is the poster girl for term limits!

Now I have heard it all! The military is socialist? That is hilarious.

You Democrats will stop at nothing and say absolutely anything.

    The military is socialist. Priceless.

Vets4Obama, I truly do appreciate your service and I thank you very much, but seriously...

Anyone want to talk about Obama's broken promise that the healthcare debate would be on C-SPAN?

Well, I guess that falls under the OBAMA DOCTRINE

I cannot even begin to express by disappointment in Mary Landrieu. I used to think of her as a democrats who put the country first over party.

Alas, she can be bribed (and was bribed) by the good ole boys.

Mary, I believe your support in the polls is already plumetting.

    Shame on you.

Of course she'll support it now. There's nothing to protect the American people from the insurance cartels left in it. She's a disgrace.

"Maybe you should realize that not everyone can get a great job because of the Bush-caused mess we have now. "

Always someone else to blame. As if Bush forced people to buy homes they couldn't afford.

Hey did Bush have a super majority when he was in office? The way some of you libs act you'd think the dems were locked out of voting on bills during the past 8 years. Obama never met a spending bill he didn't vote for...when he was present.

At this point who cares what Landreiu does concerning health care. Between herself, Chase Lincoln, Ben Nelson, and Lieberman the Prostitute, they have given the health care industry the win they desired. Now, Democrats can defeats them in their next election.

I'm willing to bet that she conveniently plans to retire in 2014...

She's all for the party. There are NO moderate democrats. She patently ignored her governor's warnings that the bill will drive the state into financial ruin. Louisiana was one of the few states to weather the recession with minimal job losses.

P.S. : Is there a jail big enough to jail every American who decides the price is too much to pay to buy insurance with no Public Option. I don't think so.
