(CNN) - Sarah Palin is hitting back at California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's dig at the former Alaska governor over the issue of climate change.

"Why is Governor Schwarzenegger pushing for the same sorts of policies in Copenhagen that have helped drive his state into record deficits and unemployment?" Palin wrote on her Facebook page Tuesday night. "Perhaps he will recall that I live in our nation's only Arctic state and that I was among the first governors to create a sub-cabinet to deal specifically with climate change."

Palin's comments came hours after the California Republican questioned Palin's stance on climate change in an interview with the Financial Times at the Copenhagen climate change summit
"You have to ask: what was she trying to accomplish?" said Schwarzenegger, who has backed strict new emissions controls to combat climate change. "Is she really interested in this subject or is she interested in her career and in winning the (Republican presidential) nomination? You have to take all these things with a grain of salt."

The former Republican vice presidential nominee has questioned whether human activity contributes to climate change, and wrote an op-ed in the Washington Post last week blasting the cap and trade policy promoted by the Obama administration to limit emissions. She has also called on President Obama to boycott the Copenhagen conference.

On her Facebook page Tuesday night, Palin said Schwarzenegger was acting "greener than thou."

"While I and all Alaskans witness the impacts of changes in weather patterns firsthand, I have repeatedly said that we can't primarily blame man's activities for those changes," she wrote. "And while I did look for practical responses to those changes, what I didn't do was hamstring Alaska's job creators with burdensome regulations so that I could act 'greener than thou' when talking to reporters."

Palin also mixed it up last week with former vice President Al Gore, who dubbed her a climate change "denier."

Also on her Facebook page, Palin criticized the former vice president for promoting "doomsday scenarios": "Climate change is like gravity – a naturally occurring phenomenon that existed long before, and will exist long after, any governmental attempts to affect it."

finally, to stay relevant, palin has had to engage in some of the policy debates on which her position was non-existent and/or unclear. in that process, she is being exposed as the sloganeering simpleton she we feared she was.... keep on posting, baby!

Why wont the "experts show all the data , why do they evade the freedom of info act ? If it's true show the work! Or is it fake . Even NASA shows cooling for 6 years. But we need to tax the rest of the life out of the middle class to stop something the they contrived.

I have to stand with Arnold: why should we have to listen to a quitter like Palin who can barely read and has no idea of where the capital of the Phillipines is located (duh....).

Palin believes in anything as long as it gives her an edge with ultra conservatives, even when it does not make any sense.

a Facebook reply? What are we, 12?

fyi Palin... California's deficits/unemployment have little/nothing to do with California's climate change/environmental policies. Besides... is destroying the environment less important than deficits? If so, enjoy your mercury/lead polluted drinking water!

  12. all the news that's fit to omit

She schooled this loser and thankfully "he won't be back".

She IS NOT saying there are NO issues, but the FACT is that the world has had warmer periods, colder periods and the e-mails that were recently put out proves that the "geniuses" can't explain everything and OTHER scientists say they are full of it and the e-mails state "how to silince them".

    That's all.

He has ruined "callyfornia" and that is a fact as well.

If you sheep want to ruin this country by believing the SAME GENIUSES that in the 1970's we HAD GLOBAL COOLING and the KILLER BEES were going to kill us all (and there was supposed consensus for those LIES as well), go right ahead.

Not a denier, but a realist.

Sarah never knows what she talks about and that's what makes it funny and interesting. Instead of a morning coffee, her irrational talk and speeches substitute mightily for my caffeine need for the week!!

I personally don't care how you define the causes of global warming, but I do think you need to be clear on your position. The president should boycott a conference talking about ways to deal with climate change because why, Sarah? You don't know what options are on the table and you deny all ideas to deal with warming.

I guess if it's natural we should do nothing and pollute ourselves silly until the planet's unliveable.

So a sub-committee was your reply...not bureaucratic at all..

    Or also...
"Evolution is like gravity – a naturally occurring phenomenon that existed long before, and will exist long after, any governmental attempts to deny it."

Funny how Palin understands neither. – j

You go girl! Let them have it. It was these 'environmentalists who put restrictions on Nuclear power 30 years ago. And now that the rest of the world is ahead of US in this area, they are saying 'oh it would be great if it were not so expensive'. It is the regulations that you all put on Nuclear Energy is what makes it so expensive. Now they are after the entire economy. I am so glad we have one woman in this country who has the courage to go toe to toe with these people.

Wow, Palin says another stupid thing in her attempt to gain some sort of relevance. I also did not know she was a climate change expert. It is obvious now, as it was when she ran as VP, she lacks the knowledge, ability and language skills to lead on the national stage.

"Perhaps he will recall that I live in our nation's only Arctic state and that I was among the first governors to create a sub-cabinet to deal specifically with climate change."
I think that was his point. You took it seriously for the 2.3 years you were governor, but now you don't because it's politically advantageous for you not to. Wow, you really are dense.

The State of California is on the verge of being the first state to declare total and complete bankruptcy..........why would anyone listen to anything Schwarzengger has to say.

The only thing the Governor and the California State Senate have successfully done is make California the poster child for what NOT to do.

One other thing...apparently Palin's porch is some sort of 8th wonder of the world. You can see Russia and global warming from it. She should sell tickets.

She sure likes to bring God into everything. So many believe the words written by men 2000 years ago warning us to obey God who we should love unconditionally . With so many people on this planet needing love and compassion why do so many only give it to an imaginary being? The bible=hate plain and simple. The Pope and others like him should be charged with crimes against humanity.
