Palin meant no disrespect with blacked-out hat

Palin said she supports McCain '100 percent.'
Palin said she supports McCain '100 percent.'

(CNN) - Sarah Palin said she meant no disrespect to the man that elevated her to the national scene after she was photographed wearing a visor on which Sen. John McCain's name had been blacked out.

The gossip Web site TMZ ran photos of the former Alaska governor vacationing in Hawaii earlier this week in which Palin is shown with a McCain campaign visor with black marker covering the ex-presidential candidate's name.

The Web site declared the hat a "frontal attack on Sen. John McCain," but Palin told Politico she was merely trying to "be incognito" while vacationing in Hawaii.

"I am so sorry if people took this silly incident the wrong way," Palin said in a statement to the Web site. "I adore John McCain, support him 100 percent and will do everything I can to support his reelection. As everyone knows, I was honored and proud to run with him. And Todd and I were with him in D.C. just a week ago. So much for trying to be incognito."

A Palin source confirmed the accuracy of the former vice presidential candidate's comments.

The four term Senator McCain is up for re-election next year.

The vacation comes a month after Palin's memoir, "Going Rogue: An American Life," hit book stores. Palin launched an around-the-country book tour soon after and has since visited more than 30 cities.

Trying to be incognito? By wearing a campaign hat with McCain's name blacked out? Are you kidding? I know she's not the smartest person in the world... but she's either worse than I thought or a compulsive liar. Why won't she just go away... she makes Republicans look so bad...

Come on, CNN, are you a news organization or a gossip column.

The woman wanted to enjoy a day at the beach without advertising to everyone who she was and, rather than buying a new visor, she altered one she already owned. I wish the current adminstration in Washington would use the same common sense to rein in their spending spree.

We are stuck with the bimbo whom he unleashed on America. Media stop reporting on her unless you can get a real interview with her without the ghostwriters. That would be a CHRISTMAS HOOT and a good comic relief for us all!

Why isn't any one saying anything about her Cuban dictator green cap she wore on tv just the other day. Palin is usually the first person to speak out about anything resembling socialism, communism etc. (Remember she can see Russia from her house.) Well the point is she looked very communist or para military wearing that stupid hat.

Did she ride the Teabagger Express bus to Hawaii? I wish she would just go away. Nobody cares what a cretin like her has to say about anything. She needs to go back to Alaska, and stay there. I hope McCain's opponent beats him like a gong. Picking her to be anything more than a carnival ride operator is not wise. Why would he inflict her on us? Why does he hate America so much?

LOLROF... She REALLY is stupid. The photo in question really hides her identity. THAT hat would really make people think it wasn't the former VP nominee..

I mean, if she had a wig and makeup and baggy clothes in addition to that hat, maybe.... she could make the case she was trying to be icognitio.

But in reality the woman hungers for recognition and attention.

I don't know what the real reason is she blacked his name out, and I sure as heck don't care. But the nonsense this fool spews from her mouth is both maddening and humorous at the same time. Maddening that CNN continues to cover her every move and word... and humorous at the idiocy displayed by her every day..

God I hope she is the 2012 Republican Presidential nominee.. Maybe McCain will agree to be HER running mate. That is how crazy the Republican party has become.

Please make it stop......all I want for Christmas is ONE DAY without silly Sarah Palin pseudo-news.

"As everyone knows, I was honored and proud to run with him"???.
Palin bashed the McCain campaign for MONTHS after their election blowout to Obama. Palin blasted Obama when HE vacationed in Hawaii. Evidently Palin's short and selective memory remembers only what benefits her.

Yeah OK, like she couldn't spring for or borrow another hat. The pattern is set, she's going to periodically rattle the media with orchestrated low-level controversy until campaigning starts. Old hat.

Sarah Palin says she "adores" John McCain? After she blasted him and his campaign staff in her book? She's rediculous. She can't just wear a different hat? I think they sell those in Hawaii. That's a lame attempt at trying to blend in with the crowd.

Every time I see a headline about Palin or something about her on the news, it's the same old thing: She's in a heated battle with someone, and she's planning on seeking revenge. She's the only person on the planet who can actually make a living by seeking revenge on every person who disses her. If there were a female version of the WWF, she'd be a perfect fit.

I hope her husband gets her some anger management videos for Christmas this year.

Wow ..is there nothing just when I thought the remarks about The Governator Schwarzenegger was rude and tottaly out of touch..she goes ahead and does this...
From a person up here in Canada , I am not sure whether to laugh my head off or be utterly embarrassed for my real cool neighbors to the South for having to endure this truly idiotic uninformed maligned out of touch lady...

It seems that everyday she is burning bridges but this a good thing cause the more bridges that she burns, the least likely that she will attain any semblance of political life .....

Sorry once again for you guy down in the States, I feel real bad that somebody like her exists...
Hey is she related to the comedian , Carrot Top????

She is either more of a nitwit than originally believed or a horrible liar (or both). To even begin to suggest that a celebrity such as her, on par both in intelligence and capabilities as a Paris Hilton, can travel "incognito" is absurd. I'm an Alaskan ashamed that you are associated with anything in this state. Maybe you should just stay on permanent vacation somewhere else.

You mean to tell me this disguised blonde actually packed her bags and went on vacation with a McCain campaign visor and then decided to black it out so that she could "be incognito"? This says basically one of three things:

Either she can't even plan what clothes to bring on vacation making you wonder just how inept she would be at planning for a nation.

She did bring it along with her to make a political statement on a local level while hoping the greater news wouldn't pick up on it and embarrass her to the nation.

Or that she was either not bright enough, too lazy, or too much of a tight-wad to stop in one of the many local vacation gift stores to pick up a visor that wouldn't have had McCain's name on it.

This woman says a whole heck of a lot about the absolute ignorance of the American people and what they are willing to "overlook" in order to support their need for only a few basic political needs.
