Once again, proof positive on what's wrong with our government. The "old guard" waxing poetic on the topic?!?! Say what you have to say in the allotted time and and SIT DOWN! Get on with it.... We don't need you going on & on & on & on & on in a monotone to get things done. WE NEED IT TO GET DONE!!! Good for you, Sen. Franken. As I tell my kindergartners every day during center time: "Less chatting, more working!"

Rules are rules: if you can't make your point in 10 minutes – then sit down and give the microphone to someone who can.

Al didn't make the rules – McCain and Joe just don't think rules apply to them ... could have been worse ... Al could have yelled out "you lie!" ... republicans thought that was just fine & dandy when the GOP does it in the halls of Congress ... then there was cheney's use of the "f" word ... phony outrage ....

It's about time someone cut the liebermann show OFF- I object to the fact he's in the Democratic caucus! He has an ego the size of texas and his change of "heart" on Medicare is not something that endears him to most of we Dems- Way to go Al!!

No one cares if Lieberman takes it personally. No one cares if McCain ever saw a Republican get what he has earned and he better get use to it. Theese Republicans always think the world cares about them, "I don't," "I never," "I" "Me," "My," are always the first words out of their mouth. They should stop talking about themselves and start talking about Americans. Good work Al.

Sen. Franken did what he was supposed to do. Nce job too. As for McCain, it would be best if he kept quiet. He hasn't been a saint lately in alot of his misquided statements.

Good for Franken, Lieberman basically tried single handedly, to destroy the healthcare Bill to keep the spotlight on himself !

    Totally reprehensible person !

Lieberman is nothing but a prostitute for the insurance companies – I say let the stupid Republicans filibuster so then we can all see what a bunch of selfish uncaring unpatriotic idiots they are. All they care about is getting money for re election. We should vote every one of them out of office and get real 'public servants' in who care about the fact that Americans are in pain and dying because we have no health care . The 'public option' was the only true reform and Lieberman stepped on it and then lied that he would support the Medicare expansion. He will face his maker someday and have to account for all of this- I hope the voters take him to task first.

Al Franken's silly display only served to make him look childish and stuck as a silly caricature of SNL.

Good for Franken!!!! Somebody needs to shut droopy up I can't stand that useless joke of a man Lieberman. He is a shameless shill for the Health Care Insurance Industry, which should be wiped from the face f the Earth as perhaps as evil an institution as the Spanish Inquisition. They both love to play God.

  11. If you want something ruined, put a republican in charge

To Linda- Obama never threatened to close a military base in Nebraska if Nelson did not get on board the health care bill. Fox News made that up. That decision to close military bases will be in 2013, and the president and the pentagon will make that decision. Beck, Hannity, and O'Reilly knew that, but reported it anyway.

McCain is a liar and a hypocrite.

He denied 30 secs more time to Sen. Mark Dayton who was talking about restricting Bush’s constitutional powers to wage war against Iraq,
which republicans had no qualms about throwing a blank check at.

    Stay classy CNN.

John McCain complained that he had "never seen" a senator denied time to finish his remarks. In fact, McCain himself in 2002 denied not one but two fellow senators extra time to complete their remarks during debate over President Bush's plans to invade Iraq. The video of McCain's actions are all over the Web today – no denying it. McCain is a liar and a hypocrite, and every Republican complaining about Franken's behavior who doesn't condemn McCain is a hypocrite as well.

What part of "following the rules" are some of you numbskulls not understanding. Besides, Liebermann is just a self serving, opportunistic shill who is in the pocket of lobbyist. Right along with the other career politicians. We as American citizens are the stupidest dupes on the planet still believing in our "Party" when none of us even received an invitation to the party! Nothing will ever change unless the American mentality changes! i.e. "Term Limits" and a serious third party movement as an alternative to the same old crap of tolerating the lesser of two evils.

FYI: Al Franken comes from a highly-educated family. He graduated cum laude from Harvard in 1973 with a BA in Political Science. He's written several books, and honed his skills in political satire in theater and radio. He injects humor into political situations. Lieberman knew that, why do you think they laughed and hugged later.

The Democratic party makes this idiot a Vice President(well okay the supreme court took it away) then he turns around and is suddenly anti- healthcare reform. And somehow Franken should be embarassed for enforcing the rules?

    Now that IS funny.

  20. Sick of Sellout Democrat Losers

Thanks so much to all of you who had the intellectual shallowness to vote for the community organizer and the comedian. Aren't you so proud of the shambles our country is in now? Just as you had hoped, we'll now be a country of pathetic, whining, complaining, stupid, losers who cannot make a decision for ourselves, so we'll rely on the government to do it for us. We'll give everything we earn to the government and beg them to give us a little in return. What a lovely picture. You all can sit back on your fat fannies, watch television, take your anti depressants, eat your supersized meal and revel in the glory of your accompishment. How proud you all must be.

Now people are taking Franken to task? It should have been done when he asked Sotomeyer about her favorite Perry Mason episode. The guy is a joke, but so are the majority of politicians coming out of Minnesota.

I'm aware of the age of Senator McCain and how he may be coming to the point of forgetting things now so please give McCain a break and maybe he will soon forget his way to the Senate. As for him doing the same thing in 2002 or 2003, that was different. You see that was him acting as a Republican doing it to a Democratic Senator who was speaking out against the war so that was OK for Senator McCain to do it then.

Republicans can offer no other ideas other than "Tax Cuts" for us to buy our own and that will not work because when I called my insurance company they told me I could send them a check for a tax cut but they would only return it because they only accept cash.
