Stand tall Al! The parlimentary procedures may be well intended, but are destructive when one tries to get a bill passed. It was nice to see someone stand up to the old fat cats in Congress when they demonstrate no respect for the citizens of this country. They seem to forget that they work for us.

I think hitting Liberman in the face with a rubber chicken would have been more than appropriate, then ripping his clothes off and throwing him down the steps of the Congressional Building. At that point, enraged American citizens of all political stripes and affliliations could have pelted him with rotten eggs and tomatoes, put him on a bus and washed their hands in clean soapy water.

Millions are glad someone finally told LIEberman to shut-up. It is long overdue and the look on Joe's face was priceless. "Oh really?" Now I hope they strip him of his committee assignments and relocate his office to a stall in the men's basement restroom.

It would be nice if the GOP cared as much about providing affordable health care to the people as it does about protecting the profits of the health care industry. If you want to know where the GOP stands on any issue, take a look at how it affects corporate profits. Guaranteed, 100% of the time, they stand with big business.

Mr. Franklen has forgotten just because he is on television , it not a comedy stint he performing in! I know protocols have to be observed but his action were far from comical. Vocies should be heard, but it seems the Democrats want only theirs heard by the American people. God help this one party system in America, to do what is fair and balanced.

Kudos to you Al Franken. Thank God for some fresh blood in the Senate. Watching this "boys club" stroke and defend each other makes us all sick....Who in their right mind would want to listen to Lieberman for any amount of time. I would rather watch paint dry.

All politicians are a joke. They have a very highly paid job, they are very well being taking care off, and they don't care about anyhting but to satisfy their own showing, and during election time they get too friendly with us the voters for a higher approval ratings just to be voted in back in office.

It's about time someone shut Lieberman up. Most of these Senator's are just plain buffoons!
The Republicans are just nasty obstructionists and the Democrats can't find their butts with both hands. Our Country is adrift with no sound leadership!

Well what do we all expect when we get a failed comedian as a senator. I think it's despicable that the Democrats would pass any garbage at this point. This is by far the most dangerous and radically driven Government that we have seen in years. I fear for my country and it's institutions. I believe that we have reached the "high water mark" for the socialists running our country. 2010 will be a true benchmark year for true conservative principles.

Franken is a disrespectful idiot. I still can't believe how a worthless fool like him got elected. Really just shows how dumb we are as a society. The guy has NOTHING to add to the senate besides being disrespectful to those that don't agree with him. We get what we ask for I guess. Maybe we are degenerates. We elected Bush to two terms, elected Obama, elected franken, and the list goes on. I guess we do deserve the crap we are in because we are to dumb to elect competent officials.

Check McCain out a little more and find out why he had his hearing records sealed when he came back to the Senate after the release from the hero status and his five years in a private room in the hilton while he waited for everone to get out together. My memory during WW 2 we would come home from overseas anyway possible to get back to our family.

Senator McShame forgets when he did the same thing when a fellow Senator was against the Iraq invasion, not war. However, the film is blacked out by coincidence but on record in the transcript McShame! He is getting senile.
BRAVO, BRAVO, BRAVO, BRAVO TO SENATOR FRANKEN!!!!
Now if the President would stand up to the slime LIEberman and grow a set.

We still have record high unemployment, politicians who would rather send our tax dollars to the moon, to an invasion of other countries, billions to themselves...... but we focus on Tiger woods, Gossins, this cramp. We need these creeps ( politicians ) to handle the issues at hand that affect this country. We are losing our middle class ( who are the tax payers) so this country can become corporate American with selfish, corrupt politicians taking their money and ignoring and lying to us.

It's about time someone stepped up to swat away
that turncoat from Aetna. Talk about flip-flops ...he
first spoke for Medicare buy-ins as a good idea, but
then reversed his field. What a hypocrite. I guess his
paychecks from downtown Hartford finally arrived
to his wallet...direct from the big boys in the corporate
offices.

It's fun to watch the Republicans on this board slamming Franken when they've PUBLICLY admitted and shown us by their actions they are only dedicated to the task of dragging this all out, stalling it and saying "no" every step of the way.
I think the forced reading of that entire amendment to the bill, intentionally tying up the floor for a full day, is a great example of WHY this action was taken.
All Franken really needed to say was "I could have agreed to more time for you today, Senator, but unfortunately your party burned up that time with the ridiculous reading of the entire amendment the other day."
REMEMBER - this is NOT health care reform. It's Health INSURANCE reform and it is NEEDED.

Franken is trying to imitate the late MN Senator Paul Wellstone... That is why he won here in MN. He framed his campaign and views in Wellstone's fashion to get elected. Well, considering Wellstone was a pompus jerk, it shouldn't be to hard!
I am really tired of you Democrats... Why can't you have a discussion in this forum without catch phrases and insulting remarks about us Republicans? Lots of you are very childish and immature, it makes me sad

Al Franken is an embarrassment....it was rude and pathetic. As an independent myself, I have always found Joe Lieberman to be one of the most balance, reasonable senator. Franken must go! Vote him out please! Get someone who is more reasonable.
