Palin continues to blast climate change believers

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin continued to blast believers in climate change Friday.
Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin continued to blast believers in climate change Friday.

(CNN)– In a late night posting on her Twitter feed, Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin continued to blast climate change believers Friday, calling the talks in Copenhagen, Denmark a representation of man's "arrogance," for believing people have an impact on nature.

"Arrogant&Naive2say man overpwers nature," Palin tweeted.

"Earth saw clmate chnge4 ions;will cont 2 c chnges.R duty2responsbly devlop resorces4humankind/not pollute&destroy;but cant alter naturl chng," the former Republican vice presidential nominee wrote.

Palin's latest comments come after weeks of tangling over climate change with California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, former vice president Al Gore, and President Obama.

In an op-ed in the Washington Post, Palin urged the president to boycott the climate talks, calling his presence at the conference a "political move."

"The last thing America needs is misguided legislation that will raise taxes and cost jobs – particularly when the push for such legislation rests on agenda-driven science," Palin wrote. "Without trustworthy science and with so much at stake, Americans should be wary about what comes out of this politicized conference. The president should boycott Copenhagen."

When Schwarzenegger questioned Palin's stance on climate change, Palin quickly hit back saying the actor-turned-governor was acting "greener than thou."

And when former vice president Al Gore dubbed her a climate change "denier," Palin hit back at him too, accusing him of promoting "doomsday scenarios."

"Climate change is like gravity – a naturally occurring phenomenon that existed long before, and will exist long after, any governmental attempts to affect it," Palin wrote on her Facebook page.

During the vice presidential debate last year, Palin said she was for capping carbon emissions but did not elaborate on how she would do that.

It's not an "unproven theory." It's fact with predictions made decades ago coming true – from Arctic sea ice melt to slowing Gulf Stream (making Western Europe cooler in the short term).

And the economy wouldn't suffer by fighting climate change. On the contrary, Germany has PROVEN that an economy can THRIVE by tackling the problem.

You need to educate yourself. Such comments only prove that you don't have a clue about climate change. You can't argue the science so you whine about Al Gore. Like they say, can't attack the message, attack the messenger.

    You lose.

...and she doesn't believe in evolution, she thinks the world is flat and the sun revolves around the earth. We all know she is as smart as a box of rocks. Her strategy appears to be to say whatever it takes to stay controversial, get attention and especially get contributions/donations from those who pay a lot (big oil, insurance companies, etc.) for spouting their positions. She isn't playing dumb – she really is. She thinks she is coy but she is so obvious.

Palin cannot even begin to comprehend the impact humans have on this planet...nor can the sheep that follow her.

To say something as ignorant as 'man cannot overpower nature' is absurd.

Has she heard of atomic weapons? We can literally destroy the planet.

The Earth has never experienced a species like humanity.

And to those who are "non believers" in science, I ask you to imagine for just one second: the impact that 7 billion people, all living, breathing, consuming organisms...who require massive amounts of energy to live even a simple life...who require even a simple home to live in....who produce even a minimal amount of waste...what a beating the Earth takes every day just to sustain our species. We must exercise caution not just in our thinking, but our actions.

    Stop breeding ignorance Palin.

Palin who? She is nobody but a failed VP candidate and now Governor who quit on "her people" after see saw dollar signs. In the meantime, he state is drowing. But wait, maybe she will donate money to Alaska or now help fund that "bridge to....," whereever. I tried to find this story somewhere else, and well, only CNN. Please do not write stories about a stupid woman "tweeting" in her slippers. I guess she is learning from Rush, the more negative you are, the more you will be in the news. I read the book, too, and it's everybody else...yea, that's the problem, everybody else.

Sarah Palin needs some serious education in science. First of all, let's have a discussion on a mature level. There are many expert scientists who have studied geology, environmental studies, chemistry and so forth and they know very well how the earth is changing, not only from natural causes, but also from the impacts of human activities on the planet. Science proves with studies and statistics the way the planet has evolved over time too. Second, God's intentions were not to stay niave to science, honey. God isn't about "religion" either; He gave us a message right there in the Bible, honey, that is, to "subdue to earth" (Genesis) Since God is all knowing and the Creator, therefore, it is our job as his children to learn about how he brought this earth about by the study of science. God did not create religion, mankind did. He never even mentioned "religion" in his messages. He commands us to subdue the earth, so let the current concerns for our environment be taken seriously, Sarah Palin. Many scientists, including political scientists, are concerned about our planet, and that is why political policies are so important for this to pass NOW, not tomorrow, not another 8 years from now. Pres. Obama is taking this Climate issue seriously, while you are not. This is a very good reason for most of us NOT to vote for you. Honey, you need to go back to college, get an education in environment science, biology, chemistry and geology to really understand what's going on. This is not a hoax, this is for real what is happening on our planet because of the combination of human activities creating pollution at an alarming rate each and every day. Wake up!

    "Arrogant&Naive2say man overpwers nature"

Sarah, when people talk about saving the planet... what they are talking about is saving man. And yes... I understand you might not know this... but man has created many methods of impacting nature that kills man... like bombs.. and poisoned water supplies. The planet survives... Mother nature has many built in methods of population control. Human arrogance is the number one method. Arrogance in thinking you can abuse Mother Nature and not pay the price. She will take us out. That's what global warming is, love. It's mother nature catching a fever so that she can kill of the infection. (We are creating the infection and Mother Nature will kill enough of us off until we stop hurting the planet. Nature will win. You can be sure of it. That's why we need to stop our abuse. Get it?

Everytime a tree is cut down, people are making an impact on nature. Sarah Palin is for "drill baby drill." She is in bed with the oil companies, who have shown themselves to be perfectly willing to destroy this planet for the sake of their bottom-line profits.

News to me that "gravity is a natural phenomenon". Never heard of an "ion" being used as a timeframe. Palin is the most igorant uninformed person with a voice out there. She hides behind her tweeter and facebook because she would get slaughtered if she had to speak with her own thoughts and words in a real interview. The only good thing with her is that every single time she opens her mouth it moves her further down the list of intellegent people on earth. She has 0 credibility left and that is probably a good thing. Thankyou CNN for posting everything she says, because as annoying as it is, it is also important to show the world how incredibly stupid she is.

This is a person who needed four colleges and seven years to 'earn" something like a Journalism degree. After all that, she probably can't spell "Journalism" if you spot her the "Journal...". As usual, she's too dumb to know what she doesn't know. She can still, with a straight face, dispute many of the best Climate Scientists in the Universe, and not realize that everyone but the Teabaggers are laughing their butt off at here inane meanderings. She deserves to be ignored.

This woman is a complete and total embarrassment to the people of the United States.
She has the exact same credibility as Rush Limbaugh, which is exactly NONE.
She is hawking a book she didn't write to people who can't read about things she doesn't know about. Seems like a slam dunk for ignorance to me.
She of the "6 schools to obtain an associates degree in Communications" level education would have the audacity and sheer arrogance to dismiss the research of hundreds, if not thousands of scientists, ecologists, environmentalists and scholars?
I, personally, am tired of seeing this northern nincumpoop getting all this undeserved press and would ask someone to please cancel whatever remains of her 15 minutes.

It never fails to amaze me...people will sell their soul (and in this case the fate of humanity) just to get some attention and some votes. Even Ms. Palin can't be this willfully stupid without some conscious effort.

I wonder if at least keeps her up at night?

Ms. Palin has enough grasp on the scientific basis of climate change from the "Science and Society" general education course she took from C'uer der Lane community College. So let us leave it to her ..................to take her of our planet.

#1.) Arguing against green house gasses causing climate change is like arguing against cigarettes causing cancer. The facts, and the proof are all around you. Open your eyes.

#2.) Sarah palin is more of a celebrity than a politician. I have a very hard time taking her seriously when she "tweets" her personal opinions to acheive popularity. Its quite disgusting.

The true ignorance here are the people who lower themselves to petty name calling. You may not like Palin's politics but the personal attacks show how low Liberals have gotten. Sad. Doubtful this post will survive CNN's "objectivity".

You just have to put your imagination to work....I can just see God sitting on his throne having the laugh of the year, sending a huge snowstorm upon the East Coast to say...so who is controlling the climate...... From my viewpoint...he always make beauty out of ugly.

She doesn't understand climate change she hasn't read a book, I guess ever and she can still see Russia from her house, with those xray eyes, all 1,984 miles away. Reporting on her may be fun and sell news, but you do a disservice to your readers printing her comments. She went to several community colleges and graduated with a degree in ??? with a 1.4 grade point average. She isn't worthy of our review
