You do realize there are clauses in this Bill that PROHIBIT the right to amend. What part of that is a good idea?

So if it does not work we can't change it, we are just stuck with it?

Our Constitution can be, has been, and will be again, amended. Why? Because our Founding Fathers realized they didn't know what they didn't know. Sometimes you make mistakes, and need to change policies for the common good.

The fact that this monster of a bill is not going to have the same benefit is scary to say the least.

The lobbyists have effectively negated democracy since the voters have no lobby. So much for a free America!!!

republicans hopefully will fail at the cheep attemps to undermine the vote for health care . one can only hope that everyone of them that vote NO on the health care will be voted out of office . they don't have any excuse other than helping the health insurance companies keep the cost high as to make sure all the CEO'S never have to cut any bonus's and be able to spend millions of dollars on lobying for the insurance companies .. funny thing is the money used to screw us is the same money we give insurance companies for over charging for the same coverage .. if health care doesn't go through ,then all of americas middle class should make a run on the health care and inendate every hospital and clinic and not pay for any services and tell the government they blew it and demand affordable health care cost . time for CHANGE and the president is right he is fighting for all of us . I wake up every morning and pinch myself .and say WOW we did elect the perfect person and he chose the perfect fgroup to help him move america forward . great job . and so is Hillary Clinton doing a wonderful job getting other countries to trust us again and show those who choose to trheaten us . you will be delt with absolutly .
MERRY CHRISTMAS to our new administration :)

change is moving forward change is good

By the way, I've seen many arguements comparing this to car insurance.

Not the same, since in a car you can damage someone else's property and/or injure them or even kill them.

If you dont' have health insurance, while I don't recommend it, you only hurt yourself.

Will the party of NOthing ever stop their political games? Will they ever return to what they were elected to do? Will they someday, again represent the America people?
Hopefully, they will choose going home for the holidays over continuing their unAmerican behavior.

When the liberards are booted out starting in 2010, whoever takes their place, republicans or TEA party or libertarians, will have to make sure they do some of the same shady and illegal practices to make sure that libertards can't change the laws in the unlikely event they lie and cheat enough to ever get in to power again.

  9. Kind of Sad Liberal

As a Liberal we have all the stars aligned.

It is doubtful we will have control of the Congress, Executive and Legislative branch like we do now. So why are we COMPROMISING ON THE PUBLIC OPTION?

For generations to come the liberal base will wonder why we didn't institute total control over the future of the United States from this date forward, instead we have a compromised watered down version of weakness. We are giving away too many freedoms to the American people. We know best how to control them, why allow them options?

With a strong gov't public option we can stay in power for generations to come, with little likelihood of ever having our voting base taken from us. Jus like in the UK where the NHS is the voting base of the Labor party, we can have the gov't healthcare workers from our nearly 100 new agencies, become our voting base for generations to come. We can have a stronger redistribution of wealth from the doers of our country.

I say we still have time to change the bill and get what we really want, full control of this country, so that it will never go back to a privately run industry again where freedoms for the people reign. We want control and power, not freedom for the people.

Take another month and rewrite the bill to include a Public option with seeds within it to ruin the Private sector, or forever, wonder if only we did what we really wanted to do in 2009.

Its the way our system works – the Founders were wise. People should pay more attention to the wisdom in their ideas. Throughout this process we have witnessed the Founder's ideas in action.

  12. Small Business to be decimated by Legislation

If the House version of this bill prevails in large part, it will be the death knell for small business, the jobs creation engine of the US because of the onerous penalties. Small businesses with fewer than 25 employees create over 75% of new jobsinthe US. The House version of health care reform will require every small business with more than $500,000 in total annual payroll to either provide health care insurance or pay an 8% penalty. The true capitalist of this country – the founders of small businessess will be hit hardest. This is especially true to start ups and small companies operating on razor thin margins. This bill is being rushed through so quickly and in private behind closed doors, that nobody has studied all the adverse ramifications of many aspects of this bill. It is akin to an everyday American bying a car and then opening the hood to find there is no engine. This is destructive and reckless behavior on the part of Obama and the Pelosi-Reid Congress. We are in the middle of a recession. To penalize small businesses in this way is atrocious.
