So this nit wit finally gave an honest vote on his back door/closed door/health care plan. Of course, his stupidity reigned supreme and he finally voted for his own bill.

What else we going to pay for, then have nothing but more taxes to pay in 2014. by then Social security will be gone so will the money for the health care, the illegal aliens health care, they will get it for free and if I don't pay for it I get fined,or jail, but if your illegal you don't have to worry. It's free for you.

The bill is an embarrassment to all the wrote it. Not only will it raise costs (because it isn't a true heathcare reform bill), but will weaken the healthcare industry and eventually makes another private industry, public.

Nobody can blame the republicans for this, the democrats created, rewrote, bribed/bought votes, blackmailed and passed this.

The republicans had a much tighter, less complex/expensive bill that represented REAL REFORM

Sadly this country needs another big event like that of pearl harbor or 9/11 to make us be united. We only come together when bad things happen. Im not saying this is a good bill or bad one. I am however saying stop calling each other names and work together. If you remember school any at all we all learned something. Those that worked passed with a's. Those that complained and had reasons not to do anything, sat around moping about how this or that was wrong...ended up with a job at walmart. Stop whining and do something. Stop talking and act. Stop complaining and for once get along. We are all americans, we are all lucky to be semi free for those that say we arent free. Go to another country like I have in the army, see what freedoms we have here.

Liberman would someday will become a socialist or a communist, whatever it takes him to win, satisfy his ego & deprive the public of all the good things God almighty wants them to have. He is a disgrace to the Jewish people. He did not learn much from Torah or Bible.

Republicans are so afraid of government-run healthcare because all they believe in is George W. Bush. That makes them think that the government can't run anything effectively, which is understandable. An honest and competent hands-on government representing the people is better than a corrupt hands-off government representing Halliburton.

IT isn't perfect but it is a start. My husband and I are self employed and have been insurance company hostages for way too long, I am glad to see that we are leveling the playing field a little. If everyone had to buy individual health insurance, they would be singing a different tune.

If this issue wasn't so serious, it would be hysterical.

Too sickening for words, all of this.

Anyways, have a very Merry Christmas, dear populace.

People who criticize this bill have no idea what it is like to have a loved one who suffers from chronic disease. You are one serious illness away from changing your perspective. It might not be perfect but it is progress.

This just tells me that he knew in his heart it was NOT the right thing to do, even though they had the majority. People had better wake up and decide that the government is not 'big' enough to support everyone with entitlement programs, who do not choose to work, or are truly not able to work. Vote all the ones who voted for this disaster out when their terms are up.
By the way, in regard to 'partisanship', is that only supposed to apply when Republicans have the majority? When the democrats are in, it sounds like a dictatorship to me, when they 'close out' the other party.

Could we at least agree to insure that our children & grandchildren will not be carrying this load on their shoulders? Why should they pay for our
complete ineptitude??? We have to take accountability for this fiscal incompetence.

This is a win for America. GOP will be remembered as obstructionists and distractors. I wish I lived and worked in Nevada to vote for Sen. Reid!

When you have to bribe your own party to vote one way or the other, that should be a gigantic hint as to the intelligence of the bill. I am one of the clear headed opponents of this catastrophic legislation, and overwhelmingly object that my taxes are being used to bribe them into voting for what I and most of America doesn't want. It will be the demise of us all as the White House & Dems promise to upheave 100% of the nation to tender legislation for 10% of the population.

We could improve health insurance issues with just a few sweeping reforms: (1) separate employment from health insurance as they are totally unrelated except for workers comp (2) remand insurance policies back to major medical coverage as it was originally intended (3) put every politician, politician's family and government worker at every level on the same policies as the rest of the citizens (4) boot out the illegals and have charities cover whatever may arise in costs for those who are not booted out.

See? Just 4 items and most problems will be outta-here!

Maybe he's suffering from dementia and needs to be removed from office. I do not feel sorry for congress working three weekends in a row around the clock. It's their job to serve the people they are the most overpaid and underworked gov workers in the system. They get more paid time off and vacations at the taxpayer's expense plus get to vote themselves pay raises every year. Ask Harry if he got a cost of living allowance raise this year bet he won't answer that one (but congress voted to not give retired military and people on social security one).

The Democrats push for Government Healthcare is not about what is good for the people, it is about big money for them and a guarantee of 30 million plus new democratic voters.

You people are blind. Your freedoms are fast being taken away by the self proclaimed big tent (big government) party.

  22. Not surprised......

the guy is senile. Why else would he support a bill that Americans don't want.....60-30% against.............

He's history in November and then we can repeal the stupid socialist bill.

After weeks and weeks of very tough negotiations back and forth, Mr. Reid is simply tired right now, and should be provided with the benefit of a doubt. It was just an honest mistake and absolutely nothing more than that. Some of you Democratic haters really need to get a life and stop whining, complaining and crying so much!

So what, he slipped up. The real news is that we have 60 LEADERS in the Senate who aren't afraid to LEAD, and 40 LOSERS in the Republican party of "NO" who lost power in the House, Senate, and White House FOR A REASON... they are impotent and without ideas. THANK YOU, HARRY REID, and I am proud of my two Senators, Bingaman and Udall who supported change that we need!!! Proud to be American!!!

Wow – Reid is dumber than I thought he was. What a loser. The bone head can't even get up on national tv and try to stump for the tourist industry of his own State to try to get the unemployment rate down (after HE killed it when he bashed the corporations for traveling to places like Vegas). What a joke.
