With Obamacare set in, $500 billions will be cut from medicare budgets, most of senoirs will have to pay more tax and health insurance premium from their limited retirement savings and receive fewer benefits, fewer family care physicians will be available to take care of seniors if they do get sick. They will have to line up in front of Obama's "death panel" to have any life saving procedures approved. They have to argue that they can still lead a productive life and are not the burden of the society. Otherwise, the reality is to die quickly.

Doctors and insurance just don't mix, that's why they hire people to do all their medical billing. Next time you're in your doc's office, ask him how much a procedure cost or what is the billing code for that procedure.

That's right! Just put some more FEAR into the lives of Seniors!! This healthcare reform bill isn't even made law as yet and as usual, CNN, Dr. Gupta, and other media outlets are crying "wolf"!! The bill won't do this, will do that, yada yada yada!!!! Perhaps you could go back to being a Dr., take care of your own expertise, and let Congress and the Obama Administration take charge of and control the whole healthcare issue! The majority of us Seniors are interested in being ALIVE AND WELL!!! Without healthcare reform,45000 people are dying each and every day because they have no healthcare insurance and cannot afford treatment. Or in the alternative, the insurance companies are denying coverage to those with pre-existing conditions, and other rules of the road that the insurance companies project. They are not much different than the credit card companies!! SO, CHICKEN LITTLE THOUGHT THE SKY WAS FALLING!!! WHEN YOU GOT OUT OF BED THIS MORNING - WAS THE SKY ON THE GROUND??????

JUST LIKE SOCIAL SECURITY, MEDICARE, AND V.A. MILITARY EDUCATIONAL BENEFITS , , ,

All were legislative bills opposed by Republicans but passed & enacted by Democrats. Many Democratic policies (not all) like so many others have helped make the U.S. the greatest country on the planet. Working-class seniors have some financial and medical support via Social Security and Medicare, while veterans coming from poor communities use VA benefits to obtain advanced education and purchase new homes.

If the Republicans had their way, this would have never occurred and the nation would not be the envy of the world.

Beverly in NC – "Republicans are traitors to America. They all took bribes from the insurance industry to try to kill healthcare reform. They were totally uninvolved in the whole healthcare reform bill. Oh, they were invited to participate but most did not even bother to show up for the meetings, yet they stand on the floor of the Senate and tell outright lies about how "they were shut out". They CHOSE not to participate because they would rather sit on the sidelines and criticize than do any real work to help the American People."

It's obvious you've not been paying attention. Republicans WERE shut out of the process. Every time they tried to bring their own proposals to the floor they were shut down. And what does it say about the Democrats that they've had the votes to pass this all along and haven't been able to? And you have the nerve to call Republicans traitors?

The real traitors here are people like you who voted that fraud Obama into office. Because of people like you our taxes will go up, our healthcare costs will go up, and we're less safe now than we were with Bush. Enjoy this little victory while it lasts, because in 2010 you and yours are in for a rude awakening. Perhaps you should think about that before you post another one of your idotic rants.

why is everybody afraid before they even get the facts.
Medicare will go broke the way it is going now.
Doctors are running every test possible on a patient that has nothing to do with what they went in for. I know for a fact with my own parents.
They know they will get paid so its MRI, CAT Scan, all blood work.
A simple test would do. That's all waste of money.
    We do need reform.
People that have insurance through jobs will not see any change.
I am a small business owner and insurance has gone up 30% every year for last 5 years. I can not afford to pay. I have high deductible and still it's out of hand.
People that are complaining have good insurance so please let us get a break and all the people that are unemployed.

hey Randers and LibertariansL First learn to spell. Secondly, most of you are anit-women; and yet you are being led around by the nose by three women (Ayn Rand, Rose Wilder-Lane, and Palin). OMG, how funny. One slept on with Alan Greenspan, one with Laura and Almonzo, and the last one sees Russia in her back yard. Ha ha.

  8. Barack reads his lies, unions thrive, government and debt grows, and the economy and our individual freedom under attack by the radical left

Sadly, this is more about social control and deprivation of quality care and control of cost. Instead the entire bill is designed to destroy the Private sector medical industry, so that eventually the only healthcare providers will be the government, in the form of a universal healthcare nationally public run system. This bill will destroy our private sector and destroy our life expectancies as we will sadly have bureaucrats deciding of Mom, Dad or ourselves given treatment or not.

I will never understand how people were so mesmerized by a man with no executive experience as a leader of the free world....what a joke the USA has become......there will, indeed, be "death panels". typical libs–they will not use truth–just like "pro-abortion" being "pro-choice" Never state the truth–just cover it up with smooth talk and more attractive words.........

  10. If you want something ruined, put a republican in charge

Because of the previous president's redistribution of the wealth to the top 1%, the national debt will explode without health reform. Debt to GDP ratio with Bush tax cuts beyond 2010 rises rapidly, making today's debt miniscule by comparison to what we will face in the next 10 to 20 years. Let the Bush tax cuts expire.

    Dear vwrtb,

I must take exception with your contention that Republicans are "always" on the wrong side of history. The Republican Party owes it's very foundation to being on the right side of one of the most important battles in our nation's history. The Democrats got it wrong on slavery. It is a shameful peiod in our past and we must aknowladge that whatever the GOP gets wrong in modern times they were right once when it counted.

Since that one I will agree with you that the modern GOP has benn wrong nearly every time... But especially when it come to helping people (which let's face it is mentioned a couple times in the Constitution) No, just because the GOP was wrong about the New Deal, Social Security,Minimum Wage, Medicare and Medicaid and just beacuse they are wrong as hell about Healthcare reform does Not mean that they have never been right. It does mean they have never been right about anything in the life-time of anyone alive today.
I have not totally given up on the possibility though after all I am a Red Sox fan so i never say never.....

Hey GOP how about it? 165 years and counting............

This is an opportunity to cut out the waste which will make medicare last years longer without going broke.

As much as I hate to compare Obama with the previous occupant of the white house, Obama was elected by a majority of voters, Bush was given the job by the supreme court, after losing the popular vote.

This country is becoming "ripe" for a revolution or a secession of liberal vs conservative states! The unyielding ideological hate is ripping at the foundations laid by our forefathers! The 2 party" power at any cost" just isn't working any more! Greed ,ego, immorality, overspending and in your face partisanship will do America in! What will emerge is a shell of what was once a great nation!

Obama's public relations firm CNN has begun the sell of the Obamacare to the American public. By the time they have finished everyone will be receiving free healthcare with a personal doctor on call24/7.
There will be no tax increase and the national debt will vanish, no one will need to work and everyone will live happly ever after in a little white house with a white pickett fence.
The good part is that the government will pay for everything.

    Mary,
You make it sound so simple, but what you fail to grasp is that the TRIAL LAWYAERS (e.g. human scum like John Edwards) willingly and happily sue the pants off of every doctor they can find (just watch the TV ads) – they are trolling for ambulances. This is why more tests are run – most doctors get hauled into court and are asked before the jury why they didn't run this test or that test, and if they did not then BAM: millions of dollars awarded to the lawyer plus a little to his client.

But Noooooo. The corrupt Democrats who are in the pockets of these evil trial lawyers, like John Edwards, will NOT do the ONE thing that will reduce the cost of health care the most: TORT REFORM.

Loony Lib Dems: Insurance companies BAD; Trail Lawyers GOOD.

Hey Mary! Do you know why doctors run "every test possible"? Because they are afraid you will sue them if something happens to your parents that is even remotely linked to their last illness. Lawyers are ready to pounce after you call them. That is why tort reform is needed but the Dems don't want to antagonize the lawyers.

  21. Insightful

A fellow worker of mine saw his medical insurance company and his wife's medical insurance company (both different agencies) pay for his wife's gall bladder removal. So the participating doctors and hospitals were paid DOUBLE for the single operation.

This is just an example of the correcting of the corruption and fraud that goes on in Medicare and Medicaid billing. Hitherto, concerned government agencies were willing to let excessive testing and billing pass without questioning it. But, the present administration plans to develop and implement plans to weed out these excesses and make every health dollar paid to a medical resource accountable.

Also, a story I heard about Repulsivecans being invited to the health care talks went something like this:

Senator Reid: Micth, you and the gang drop in to helpt us with this healthcare thing tomorrow at 9 a.m. We'll have fresh coffee and jelly rolls and donuts.

Senator Nutch: I understand you have no latte or french creme rolls.
So, I don't think I can get any of my crew to show up. Ah, you don't need us, for after all, we'd just be getting in the way. Also, we've got to practice on our own approach to health care for American masses.
    "No way! nO

    @ Mary in NC:

You are deluded by Obama's hype and by your own selfishness.
It is you who only care about yourself and Marxist entitlement programs like this health-care handout, not Republicans and the rich.
The rich make their own money.

A lie intended to produce guilt pervades these comments as the premise of statements like, "Republicans don't care about..." and "the rich don't care about..."
The lie: "they SHOULD care about..."
There is no reason that they should. They might, or might not care, but THEY HAVE EVERY RIGHT NOT TO CARE.
