I for one feel safer knowing President Obama is on the job. It feels a heck of lot better then it would with Palin and McCain being anywhere close to the Whitehouse.Just the thought of Palin, McCain being in charge is enough to feel very thankful that there is a great president in power, and that is a nice feeling at Christmas.

As long as man has been on earth, there has been those who would kill for the sake of killing. We have labeled these people "Terrorists" now and somehow created the illusion that we can win a war against them. There is no war here that can be won! and peace will not reign forever. Evil is born or cultivated every day....and yes even right here in America (Timothy McVeigh comes to mind). The close minded people who would focus on a certain religion will overlook the evil in their back yard.

Will Obama finally comes to gripes with reality? Terrorists are out there and want to slaughter innocent US citizens, by the thousands or millions if they can. Or will he continue to think he can talk these people into submission and continue to apologize to the world for taking aggressive action against these animals.

    Wait...........

I thought that when "The One" went throughout the world criticizing/apologizing regarding the US--that all of the Muslim terrorists were now going to love us???

Don't they know that "The One" is now in power-–and that everything should be different??

Please don't tell me that they were not enlightened/transformed when they saw/heard "The One".

    How can this be possible???

I am surprised that Obama used the word "terrorist". I thought for sure that he would "need more time, before jumping to a conclusion"-–and decide that this was just the lone act of a disgruntled, unhappy Muslim--instead of an act connected to terrorists-–just like the Fort Hood incident.

Oh boy, Republicans can now be happy – there has been a real terrorists attack on the U. S. A., in the U. S. A. , while Obama was President. Cheney, who has been begging, one can even say lobbying, for an attack, should be the happiest of all. These evil, rotten Republicans! Yes, it must be said: Those who have cheered the terrorists on, in the hope such an attack would have negative political impact on Obama and the Democrats, are UnAmerican and downright traitors! Cheney, some Congressional Republicans, O'Reilly, Hannity, Limbaugh, Levine, Coulter, Malkin, Ingraham and the rest – sooner or later, they will pay for their behavior. Evil begets evil. It's called Karma! Some day.

For several years we've had this problem. People on our terrorist watch lists have been boarding planes bound for the US but still we refuse to share our watch lists even with our own allies. As if throughout all those years we wanted those terrorists to blow something up on our allies' lands.

well i wonder why we have more attempts on our soil this year then any year since 911. could it be the pres is so worried about forcing americans to pay higher taxes and proving he can make people do what he wants like the health bill or firing ceo's of banks that he is not paying enough attn and we appear to be weak against terrorism now. Thank God the passengers and the men and women of the FBI were able to stop this and figure it out. Obama should go back to organizing sit in's

They had better be; after Obama bowed down to all the foreign leaders the terrorist groups see him as weak and this is already starting to come back to haunt the US. Wait and see; we will see more of this attacks because of Obama bowing.

Hmmm let me get this straight, the left says we are not under any threats and we are just a bunch of red neck bible thumping bullies... so this clown just decides to bring down a plane all alone right???? I personally will be glad when this muslim president ( lower case on purpose) is no longer in office along with his cohorts. I think 2010 is the end of the Democrappy party

    Hi CNN:

Why you report this? Of course any U.S. President concerns, NOT only Obama. The ways big media and some politicians tried to promote Obamas in the past few years just show that you guys value American citizens too low. Many intelligent Americans out there and please just let them help the nation by developing their own opinions and ideas. Do not try to persuate them the ways as those small groups of you want.

    WH tracking the "news?"
    You don't mean on TV–?
Will the 3:00 AM call go to CBS or NBC?
What if it went to FOX?

Maybe that's the WH's way of being folksy and pretending, "I'm just like you," but I don't want to know issues of national security before Obama gets them from television.

White House on terror attack 1:24
CNN's Ed Henry reports on how the White House has stayed informed on the alleged terrorist attack in a Northwest plane.

Let me guess, Gibb,s tunes into one of their propaganda channels, maybe like CNN or ABC....

The only ones that will be flushed in 2010 and 2012 are middle class tax paying American citizens, Aspen Professor... Conservatives want health insurance reform, just not this crap of a Bill that has been presented, get a clue, what are you a professor of besides misrepresenting facts?

You mean making tracks in the opposite direction, right? This group of liberal cowards wouldn't know what to do with real terrorists...but thank God someone one the plane did!

Mr. Obama emboldened these people when he went to Cairo and apologized to the Muslim world for U.S. resistence to Jihadism.

Maybe if the corporate media wasn't so click hungry with sensationalist headlines like "Al Qaeda linked to plot to kill us all in Detroit," we'd have a more informed electorate and a less politicized elected.

This has been a pathetic exposition of what CNN really stands for. You knew when creating these headlines there was no al Qaeda link, and now we get to obstruct for a few more weeks as we debate NONissues.

    CNN = worthless.

Barack is a community adviser. What does he know about terrorism. In fact when he came into white house, he did not allow us to use the word Terrorism. Have you forgotten it?
