I wish the press would be less "knee jerk" and hyperbolic about everything. You guys have a responsibility as well to avoid hysteria, instead you fuel it.

WHat exactly would his coming out to speak have accomplished? Are Americans really that immature? Can we have CNN International in the States?

I was waiting for this. LOL. Youre KIDDING? A GOP Right Winger criticizing Obama? Is there ANYTHING in a year they haven't criticized?

Once again, all they can do is criticize. I'd rather have Obama working behind the scenes than having photo ops, and telling Americans to keep shopping. I'm sure when he has something important to say, he will say it. Just how often was Bush on vacation making speeches? He couldn't even be bothered in August 2001 when he was specifically warned about terrorists and planes. So this is stupid, frankly...just another attempt to paint Obama as weak, and if that in itself isn't giving succor to terrorists, I think these 'journalists' had better rethink what they are doing.

One might better ask WHO created the world-wide climate of hatred for all things American:

    GEORGE W. BUSH

President Obama's response is consistent with his approach to governing: low-key and reasoned ... rather than using terror alerts to keep the country paralized in fear, as former Vice-President Cheney did.

So what's new about republicans criticizing the President? They criticize him for breathing. Republican critics should try waiting until they get all of the facts before they start shooting off at the mouth. This is the same crap that got us into the Iraq situation, (shoot, ready, aim). And, Ed Henry is still trying to manufacture the news rather than simply report it.

What pieces of dung you Republicans are.

America needs a new political party to replace the vile, venal, corrupt, and traitorous Republicans. The new party's aim must be the betterment of the American people, not the destruction of the middle class and the enrichment of the corporations. The Republican party needs to be sent to Guantanamo.

He's right, Bush's response would be different. He'd prance around an aircraft carrier in a flightsuit like one of The Village People pumping his fists in the air while shouting "Bring it on!" Then he'd invade Nigeria.

You know, when America voted last year, they voted to support a different approach, certainly different than the previous administration. If President Obama had held a press conference on this latest event, it would have been reminiscent of the previous administration, and your story would have probably have criticised him for being like the last guys. I think its intelligent to place what he feels are the right people in the right jobs and allow them to do their work. The homeland security people will identify missteps in this case, and correct them..Any other discourse on this is only an attempt to politicize it for partisan purposes...Do not join the fray.

Please. If Obama came out and said, "Now, Kids, don't forget to mind your parents and eat your vegetables." He'd be accused by republicans of sticking a finger in the eye of all the beef producers.

He's being criticized??? By the GOP??? Naaa, say it isn't so.

I can see it now if McCain would have been elected. We'd be sprinkling bombs all over Nigeria by now. And Palin would just be sitting around looking stupid... as usual.

The GOP had better smarten up if they want any inkling of hope in 2010 or 2012. On second thought, just stay stupid and keep up that new GOP slogan...
For the party, NOT for the people...

It's past time for Obama to stay in DC for longer than a few days at a time and see what is really going on. How many vacations has he had the first year? More than Bush before you Bush haters start trying to cover his butt. Obama needs to park AF1 and stay in the white house and look hard at some of his people who are making policies that are not working and then do something about it.

Aside from being Jesus Christ himself, I don't think there's anything Obama can do that will make the GOP happy...
